Broadcast

[The video starts with the camera actually falling. There's some chaos and then the sound of a canine yelping. Everything goes dark like cloth fell on it before you can see again that it's...Biffy's salon? The device has been shifted enough to reveal a wolf trying hard to free itself from what looks like the remains of a suit.

When it sees the device on, it scrambles over and...the recording ends.]


Iskaulit - First day of glitch (Closed to Lyall)

[It's been literally years since Biffy last found he couldn't control his changes. For that reason, he's understandably distressed when he suddenly finds himself changed into a wolf. Quite forcibly! It takes him some time to at least free himself from his clothes enough that he can walk normally, even if it means the remains of what are left still cling to him.

So now he's darting around the Iskaulit with his communicator in his mouth since he really has nowhere else to put it. Which means there's now a distressed chocolate colored (with a delightful red colored marking like a cravat on his chest) wolf wearing torn up clothes running around. This is his first glitch that he's gone through so he's not used to it!]


Iskaulit or Blameless - Rest of the glitch period

[Well, he's stuck like this. After the first day of stress now he's just resigned to the fact that he's stuck like this until this place will let him change. So usually he can be found on the Blameless or the Iskaulit. Just wandering mostly to get the energy out of his system since he can't open up his shop while he's like this.

But really it's just him moping. Flopped about looking depressed.

Iskaulit - pretend there's a teen icon

<sub>[ Teenage Kirk was becoming more and more unimpressed with this whole fleet set up by the day. Unimpressed, and worried. He didn't want to let it on though. He was a man! He wasn't going to be scared. He distracted himself with the amusements of the Iskaulit, few as they were, but they were between than the dry season in Iowa or a detention cell, so - take what you could get, right?

There's someone new on the Iskaulit today though. His eyes light up when he sees the very large dog, though did it seem... sad? Was it lost too? Kirk began to approach, smiling at the dog ( because he was not going to guess wolf right off, why would there be wolves in space?). ]</sub>

Hey big guy. You're looking kind of lonely.

[Biffy's yellow eyes open to look at Kirk. Who he sees is still a little boy. Well in that case he supposes he can't let himself be too moody. Not only does Kirk currently have no idea what is going on but he is literally a child presently.

So he watches him, relaxed where he's laying down presently. Mostly as a sign that he doesn't mind if the boy approaches him. He doesn't want to startle him, after all. A little boy has enough to deal with here without a wolf growling at him.]

_{[ Seeing the dog didn’t seem to mind his presence, he came closer and settled down beside Biffy. He held out his hand for the other to sniff. ]}

You all alone, boy? Or you hiding out?

[Typically he'd be very against anyone touching him because he is not a dog. However, Kirk really isn't going to know better. Besides that this is already stressful enough on a young teen.

So he lets out a huff before deciding to just give in and noses the hand. Fine. He can pet him.]

_{[ Kirk visibly brightens, gently running his hand along Buffy’s ruff and to his neck, stroking. The fur is much softer than he expected, and he scooted closer. ]}

You wouldn’t happen to know why we’re here, would you boy?

_{[ He glanced down, but clearly didn’t expect an answer as he sighed, putting on a teenage pout. ]}

I’ve always wanted to go out into space, but I thought I’d at least, you know, get to fly the ship or something.

[First day of glitch]

[The very second he sees this on his feed Lyall is out of his seat on his way to the station where he can be beamed to the Iskaulit.

It's not full moon, at least not that they have calculated. And he himself is fine.

Small saving grace, it doesn't sound like Biffy is going berserk, but he's still going to rush to the salon, and once he's there quickly come in and close the door.

To find his Alpha stuck in the middle of ripped fabric. Well, that has to be extremely distressing, wolf change notwithstanding. This was a lovely outfit.]

Biffy... are you alright?

[he comes closer to start extricating his Alpha from the clothing mess.]

[Biffy has his device in his mouth, has just been about to run out, when Lyall shows up. He looks distressed still but he stops flailing about so that way his Beta can help him out of his clothes. Immediately afterward he starts to groom himself so his fur will lay flat and not look ridiculous.

He lets out a low huff that says he's somehow fine but not enjoying this. He's trying to change back and...nothing!]

[Lyall can guess that is Biffy isn't changing back, it's because he physically can't. But that in itself is worrying. he is long pas the stage where this should be happening, so clearly something else is at play is.

He busies himself with extracting all personal items form the pockets of the ripped outfit while keeping an eye on Biffy grooming himself.

When he's done, he comes to kneel in front of the wolf and gently puts his arm around his neck, bringing him into a hug.]

[Biffy is grateful for the embrace. Closing his yellow eyes, he leans into it. What is going on? What is happening to him?

It is honestly so easy to forget about the glitches in moments like this, his mind just wanting to focus on the arms around him. Because Lyall understands what this means for him. Why it makes him feel this way.

Sighing, he nuzzles Lyall's face with his own.]

The Blameless - let's say the 16th

[This week was definitely going to be interesting...

Not only had Shiro disappeared a few days ago, prompting Ulaz to be the acting captain of the Blameless, but he had also been informed by Lyall yesterday that Biffy was stuck in his wolf form. Not a danger which was good, but inconvenient to say the least.

So Ulaz is walking through the ship, running all the normal checks that the captain has to do every day. He had seen Procyon laying on Shiro's bed alone so he had called the dog to join him. Give him some company rather than being lonely.

And of course he encounters another sad dog laying around while he's walking with Procyon around the ship]

Good afternoon, Biffy.

[Procyon stopped beside Ulaz when he stopped, peering over at Biffy]

[Biffy lifts his head when he smells the dog and Ulaz. Since he can't exactly talk, he just bows his head to him politely to let him know that he's greeting him in return. Even stuck as he was, he can't help but want to continue to be polite with those around him. It's too much a habit for him to break it easily.

Shifting, he notes that the dog is looking at him. Ah yes. Procyon hasn't had much a chance to see him like this. Stretching, he gets up and trots over to sit down before Ulaz so the dog can better sniff at him.]

[Ulaz noticed that the wolf seemed to attempt a bow. Interesting that he still tried to be proper and polite even when in that form. And different from how they were on the full moon.

He watched as Biffy came over, sitting down in front of him, close enough for Procyon to lean in closer and sniff him. Which the dog down, moving in closer to investigate the new animal on the ship... who smelled vaguely familiar]

I'm sorry to hear that you are stuck in this form. It should be temporary at least. When my augment glitched, it was only for a few days. Keith's and Lance's seem to have lasted longer, but those too ended.

[Biffy likely remembered Ulaz's augment glitch. Having to rearrange the kitchen after every time Ulaz went in there]

Do you need anything?

[Since he's still able to indicate with nods and other gestures, they can always do that]

[At one point he noses the dog lightly. Not to get him to stop what he's doing, of course. It's almost more...playful really.

Largely because he trusts Ulaz to protect his dignity and not mention that he was playing with the dog in this form.

Biffy tilts his head at the question, considering it. Does he need anything? Well other than the glitch to fix itself? He shakes his head. No. He surprisingly doesn't need anything right now actually.]

Iskaulit

[Freya is lucky enough to be able to change from wolf to human girl at will. She prefers being a wolf sometimes. It's awesome having four legs, seeing the world in weird colors and smelling everything. She's also able to wander everywhere and people very rarely get mad at her.

It's great!

She can't just sit back and do nothing when she sees a sad wolf. That isn't acceptable. So she grabs a stick, runs up with a little tail wage and tosses it towards his feet.

[Her scent reaches him long before she does physically and he's tense. This is another wolf, what has to be a werewolf, here before him. And this wolf isn't part of his pack. It causes instincts in him to tense as he tries to determine what it is that she wants.

Yellow eyes study her closely from where he is, noting her every gesture. She's wanting to play but she's not exposing her neck to him. Where he's from that could be considered something of a challenge.

So he doesn't wag his tail and instead sits up, sniffing the air to learn more about her. Because wolves are not know for just playing with other packs or loners where he's from.]

[Freya has never been with a pack, not since her family had been killed but she's been through a few claimed areas and knows how to act accordingly. This is not a claimed area, his scent isn't around here, which means that they are equals.

She sits and waits. She doesn't show him her throat or do anything that might make her appear weak but she does lower her head and display the air of submission. Freya can't afford to be showing weakness, not when she's smaller than every other wolf and traveling on her own. That's a fast way of getting herself killed.

Most wolves and packs in her world are okay with that. She shows her respect and then continues on her way but this is a different situation. There is nowhere she can go except back to her ship.

Challenges are for male wolves, which is why there are less of them.]

[She won't bare her neck to him. The bow of her head doesn't say as much in the language of wolf that he is used to. It might be respectful but it isn't a show of submission. So he stands up now, still tense as he watches her.

Because he doesn't know what she is here for. Why she would approach an Alpha and not show submission to him? He doesn't want to fight. He doesn't even like fighting. But he can't change back right now in order to properly talk this out.

So he waits. Waits to see what will happen...]

[ooc: Lyall is going to jump in to help smooth things over! Just wanted to give you a heads up!]

Iskaulit - action

[Behold a tiny kitten approaching, oh sad wolf. She is a fearless creature on a tiny leash made of some rope that goes around her front legs. Behind her is Death, the reaper of but a single planet.]

OH. YOU ARE...A WEREWOLF? [Poppy meows loudly and walks up to Biffy and sniffs the air.] I WON'T TELL ANYONE IF IT IS MEANT TO BE A SECRET.

[Biffy is used to the utter boldness of cats, tiny or otherwise. They don't care what a person is and he quite likes that about them. So he shifts his head over so she can sniff at his face, watching the one behind her.

He's...different. He can smell that. He just can't quite put his finger on it. Or paw in this case.

With a subtle movement of his head to avoid disturbing the kitten, he nods. Yes. He is a werewolf. It's not a secret.]

[Poppy is distinctively a sassy kitten who greatly appreciates the face shown to her. She sniffs very closely at his nose and mouth and paws ever so gently at his jaw.

Death nods in both understanding and greeting and kneels down that they might speak eye to eye.]

STRANGE. WITH ALL THE PLANETS WE HAVE GONE TO, IT NEVER OCCURRED TO ME TO CONSIDER THAT LUNAR CYCLES MIGHT STILL AFFECT THOSE LIKE YOU. [His head does the slightest tilt.] YOU REMIND ME OF A GRIM. THEY ARE CANINE PROTECTORS OF THE BURIED DEAD.

[There is a heavy sigh at lunar cycles. Largely because this isn't the time of the full moon. He shouldn't be stuck like this. However, he doesn't know how to communicate that because who would be able to understand him like this? He can't talk.

He misses talking.

But his nose twitches some at the mention of buried dead. He's not sure he would enjoy that at all. Graves are such sad places to be. And the dead smell terrible.]

[...So there's a wolf.

Felix steps into the galley and...pauses. That's...new. He has to stop and think about the last time Lyall and Biffy disappeared into the cargo hold. It definitely hasn't been a month, he's pretty sure. And the way that the wolf is lying on the floor really doesn't scream 'dangerous predator' either. It.....kind of reads 'sad dog'.

He hasn't seen either of them as wolves before. It's interesting, once he gets past the surprise.]

...Hey. [He never asked Biffy or Lyall how much they understood as wolves, did he? He has no idea if he's just making a fool of himself or not, but he keeps talking to the wolf. It has a shade of the way you'd talk to a less sentient animal though not entirely.] ....Taking a...break?

[This seems out of character for either of them. What's going on?]

[Hearing the question, he looks up and tilts his head. It's hard to tell if Felix realizes that this is him or Lyall actually. It is possible though. So Biffy decides in the end it'll be better just to answer.

He shakes his head. No, he isn't taking a break. Honestly he'd rather be working because this is so utterly inconvenient. As fun as it is to go running with Lyall when they can, he doesn't actually want to be stuck as a wolf. With a little sigh, he looks sad again and looks in the direction of his station.

It would be so much more satisfying to be there. Or to be at his salon.]

[The wolf glances in the direction of the comm station, and Felix follow its - his - gaze.

Well, that answers two questions at once: whether or not the wolves understand humans as wolves and which werewolf this is, exactly. Okay.]

Stuck, huh?

[Now he sounds sympathetic. He's spent a little time stuck as a tiger...it's really annoying.]

[There's such a heavy sigh from the wolf which indicates yes. But of course he makes it clear by also nodding.

Getting up, he quickly straightens his fur out to make sure it's presentable before trotting over to Felix. Right about now he's wishing he could get tea ready for the man but that really isn't going to be happening. He supposes he should reach out to Lyall to do that for him because he'd like to see that continue on so no one loses the schedule he's set.

As it is he at least nods his head in greeting to the man. He can still be polite.]
