[ loki is no stranger to space ships. though the kind of ships asgard uses are quite different in nature, he's read enough to be familiar with the make and feel of this one. he quietly turns on the recording device, squinting at it. very primitive but it'll have to do. he straightens himself, as befitting a prince, quiet and somber despite the nervousness. ]

[ a pause as loki thinks of what else to add before pulling out a large knife he stole from the kitchens. ]

[ loki pouts before grabbing a spoon to dig into the cake. his manners still remain impeccable as he bites it off little by little. ]

[He's eating and that's all Taako could really hope for. The knife is real and back in his possession, but now that means he has to actually think about what's going on here. He hasn't been here long enough to see a glitch in action, but he's heard mention of them on the network.

Well, to put it in perspective, elves don't reach adulthood until we're closer to one hundred, so you're still considered young for us. [Even if elven society sucks balls and can go get a swirly in a toilet.]

[Taako started magic the same sort of way. What was easy and useful and didn't require a shitload of physical training, he gravitated toward.]

[He sort of knew that would be the answer, but it's good to confirm. Taako smirks.]

[ loki nods politely, trying not to seem eager. ]

[Something small and easy then. He doesn't need to blow Polymorph here of all places.

So Taako considers and then takes a glass of water. He sets it been the two of them and touches a finger to the rim of the glass.

The water inside solidifies and then starts to change color, deepening to a deep blue. Then he slides it out of the glass and shapes the sapphire into a small snake.]

Transmutation?

Would you rather I turn myself into a snake? I can't exactly talk when I'm like that.

[YES, IT IS. Because a polymorph transforms everything about a person, even their mind.

He considers for a moment and then decides to do something else entirely. He still wants to stay himself after all, especially around a godling.

Taako sighs and does an acquiescing bow.]

[And he casts Polymorph, not just an illusion like most of his shapeshifting, but an actual transformation of his body. It doesn't take long and everything just sort of...changes without much ado. One moment he's an elf, and the next? He's echidna - half elf, half snake. Scales flow up his body like a wave and pepper down his arms, shimmering up his neck. His eyes change and shift color, pupils narrowing to slits. He's grown in size, his tail elongating and wrapping around through the kitchen.]

Better?

[ loki's eyes go big, leaning forward. ]

That is amazing. What is that?

[Well, at least he's suitably impressed. It isn't as much fun as growing wings or becoming some behemoth giant, but staying himself and not himself at the same time was better than nothing.]
