[It's taken Vash a lot of talking to get himself to make this post. He was embarrassed and shy which was making it very difficult. Still, it was something he had been thinking about for months now so he really needs to do it. No point to keep putting it off.]

So, ah, I know there are some doctors on board. People skilled with magic too. Is anyone good with getting rid of old scars. Like really bag, old scars? The kind make up won't cover up?

[Vash will also be working his bartender job at The Space Bar later on. Standing behind the bar with a big smile on his face.] What can I get you? [Come tell the bartender all your problems!]

Oh. Well, good thing I didn't care about the other two questions then. [He cared so little that he didn't even think of two more questions. Saying there were three just sounded a lot more dramatic.]

So what would you like? Or is sitting alone in a bar staring at a wall a cool past time for youth back where you're from?

I would get carded if I tried to walk into a bar back home so no not really? I just find myself with more free time than I have stuff to fill it with? So I thought I would come by and see who was around to keep my mind preoccupied.

Do you serve anything that isn't alcoholic? that isn't just hot water?

Yeah? You don't look that young. [No Man's Land! The wonderful planet where kids start to learn how to shoot before they can walk, there's no such things as labor laws, and most people are alcoholics by the age of twelve.] We have soda if you're interested in something with sugar in it.

Oh, maybe you've just got different laws regarding drinking ages. In my country, I'm not allowed to drink until I turn 21 and well I'm 17.

So from what I've been finding in the old network. You're the person here who has been here the longest.

Yeah, drinking ages aren't really a thing where I'm from. I mean, most places won't serve a ten year old a drink, but it wasn't exactly a rule.

[He picks up a clean glass.] We have cola, lime, orange, and blue. Don't ask me what the blue stuff is because I have no idea.

And you're not wrong. I'm the only one left from when this cycle first got started four years ago; nice detective work. [He'll fill the glass with Tim's choice of drink as he speaks.] So, I suppose you have some questions?

Is the place you're from similar to your dream? like a desert landscape? and I'm really tempted to try the blue now.

I have probably a million question but I've been told I ask too many at once and I really don't know how much to trust from anyone really. The Atroma have shown that they can see, project and perhaps even alter our memories so nothing we think we know is reliable information.

[Vash's fingers fumbles slightly as he fills the glass with the blue soft drink when Tim brings up the calibrations. Vash's own memories are always so fuzzy when it comes to what people have seen so he's left wondering now how much Tim knew and saw.]

Yeah, actually my whole planet is nothing but desert. It happens when you have two suns. [He slides the blue glass over to Tim.] That will be three and a half credits.

[Tim will take the drinks and hand over the credits without fuss this time. He will take a sip of the blue drink and scrunch up his face in confusion and disgust like he doesn't know if he likes it but then just goes back to drinking it]

It tastes... blue?

Two suns? is that why there were doing experiments with making plants? to try and grow more on the desert surface?

I know, right?! But I'm pretty sure a colour isn't really a flavour?

[Vash bobs his head indecisively at Tim's question.] I'm not so sure experiment would be the right word. [Not that he's going to offer up the right word. At least not without a bit more prompting.]

Well there's a lot of things that are in the Fleet that I would say couldn't exist so blue being a flavour doesn't seem that far fetched, does it?

What would you say the right word is then?

Eh. [He pauses and waves his hand in the air for a few seconds in an attempt to find the right word.] I dunno? Just, they are? The Plants... they just... are? We just use them. [Granted not in the optimum sort of way, but that was a lack of knowledge then experimentation.]

[Tim just looks at Vash confused]

The Plants.. just are? and you just use them?

So.. they weren't doing the experiments in order to create more flora for a desert planet? Instead, they created plants that look and act like people?

Yeah. They just are. And we use them to survive on the planet. Without the help of the Plants no one would be able to survive on my home planet. So, no, we're not doing experiments. The Plants were created to help terraform planets so they're doing what they were made to do. [It's just the planet wasn't suppose to be so awful at the start.]

Um, the Plants that look and act like people? [Him that is.] Uh, well, was unexpected.

Sorry, I think we're getting mixed up in when we're talking.

You said that the Plants were created to help terraform the planet and that's what I was asking. If they were experimenting to help terraform the planet. So question answered and we can move on perhaps.

So if you're terraforming though, that usually implies that you've achieved space travel?

I still don't think experimenting is the right word to use. The Plants can and do terraform as expected and as they should.

[Well...]

Mostly. They mostly work as they should. We did achieve space travel, but our fleet had an accident so we sort of crashed. [Tim will probably be able to pick up on Vash's discomfort when it comes to talking about this. He wasn't use to being so open, but he had made a promise to himself to not hide so much. Telling the truth, not hiding behind lies, or giving only part of the information is part of that promise.

We ended up crashing onto our planet and most of the people who properly knew how to use the Plants passed away during the fall. The Plants are good enough that we can survive on the planet. It's just going to take a long time with the limited knowledge we still have before they can make the place into more than just a dust ball of sand. [And that's the optimistic view. The truth is the Plants would probably be worn up and used up before they are able to completely terraform the planet. They're good, but they can stop the way those twin suns beat down.]

[Tim seems to take this all on board and think about it while sipping his blue drink]

And the people left behind are just trying to survive on a planet that isn't really equipped for habitation? Are you working with people to collaborate on how to understand the plants? I mean you are one yourself?

Do you have any powers similar to your sisters?

Yeah, doing the best that they can. [That question was easy. It's the other questions Tim asks that leave Vash scratching at his cheek and debating how much he wants to say.] I mean, I was? At the start? [Too many bad reactions that Vash ended up stopping.] And they're sort of similar, but I don't use my powers. They tire me out too much. [And destroys a lot of things.] It's, ah, it's not exactly something I like talking much about.

Oh. [Tim can read between the lines of that last statement. He does remember the memories from calibrations quite well]

That's understandable. Although it would be interesting to see terraforming in person I don't want to... tire you out.

So what did you actually do for a living back on your world?

I'm afraid I've never successfully been able to terraform a thing. [He smiles. Although he hates to admit how he only knows how to destroy. Unlike his sisters would could do such beautiful things.]

Me? I mostly drifted from place to place back home. I wanted to see the world. [Among many other reasons.] So I took whatever odd job I could get.

So you didn't really have anywhere you called home? did you travel with others? I can't imagine getting about a desert climate is very safe alone.

I had one place I use to call home. I would go back every few years or, ah, ten. They knew who I was there and it was nice. [Use to. Was nice. Then Vash strangely moves on to Tim's other question. As if trying to change the topic before more questions can be asked about that.]

And yeah, I had a group of friends that we traveled around together. A couple of them are waiting for me back home. I miss them, but I'm looking forward to seeing them again one day.

[The slight eyebrow raise clearly shows that he noticed what you did there Vash but he doesn't comment.]

We'll all get home to them. I don't think things are quite as they were with the Marsiva or maybe the Atroma in general. A couple of conversations have me wondering if something is malfunctioning over there. Honestly, I wonder if this whole thing hasn't been doing it on autopilot this whole time.

No, they really aren't. Our hosts hardly ever talk to us these days. They use to talk to us all the time. I think something is going on with them. Maybe it is on autopilot.

I had thought we'd see some reaction from the attack on the Marsiva but there has been nothing. I don't know about you but that seems the oddest part to me.

Yeah. I've been waiting for some sort of retaliation, but nothing has come so far. We just keep drifting as if nothing has happened. I hope... it's not because they're getting ready for something big.
