My friends, one of the many things I've very much enjoyed while on the Fleet is the ability to experience enjoyable things I never would have had had the opportunity to hear about back on Thedas. A 'water park' seems to be one of those. I am interested in seeing what the fuss is about... Especially if I can convince Kolivan to experience it with me. [Oh, he will. That is going to happen.] Meeting him as been other one of those things, after all, and combining them could be fun.

My concern is this. [He lifts his left hand, showing off the silver cybernetic prosthetic.] When it was installed I was reassured it's waterproof and I've had no issues with it in the shower and such, but somehow this seems different.

Does anyone have experience with these sorts of limbs? Can you check that it will still function properly even if I take it down a 'water slide'? [He seems to enjoy saying 'water slide' even though he can't fully conceptualize what it is.]



[Waterpark (for Kolivan)]

[Just as he had suggested on the network, he is able to convince Kolivan to come with him to check out the water park. Now they are both in bathing suits and t-shirts (very out of place for both of them, honestly) and side by side as Cyril considers the slides.

He has been reassured that his arm is waterproof, but now that he's here, he realizes that he hadn't considered his khol.]

Oh... I just realized this is going to make my eyes run.

[He was excited about the new experience and hadn't fully thought ahead. Don't judge him.]

[Kolivan isn't sure why the required uniform for visiting this place is what they are wearing but it does seem to be the case. Though he does look as stiff as ever as he looks around at everyone else having fun. Like he has no idea what they're actually doing.

Really he stands out a lot with his height and being unsure of how to relax.

Then Cyril says that and he looks down at him.]

I do not understand. Is this a common trait for Elves? That your eyes can run from your face?

[Cyril looks back at Kolivan and chuckles gently in a good-natured kind of way.]

Ah, no. I'm sorry I should have been more clear. I meant my makeup. That's what is going to run down my face. I should probably remove some of it before we start.

I see. Then yes. That much paint will get into your eyes and be unpleasant. I will wait for you to remove it.

[Cyril offers him a smile.] I'll be right back.

[Then he goes to find a bathroom or something. He's not gone for very long but when he comes back his face is bare. He looks a little embarrassed too.

It's very rare that he is in public without his face being made up.]

[He waits until Cyril has finished washing up and turns to him when he sees that he's done. Though he will acknowledge that the Elf looks different like this, he also believes that this look suits him as much as any other.]

Your physical appearance has not diminished with the removal of the paint.

[He's...attempting to reassure him that he's still attractive.]

I have some baseline knowledge of prosthetics. It should be fine so long as all the wiring is safe from exposure to water. Though it may depend on the materials themselves.

That's reassuring to know. The wiring is completely sealed away on this one.

Then I would suggest making sure it's cleaned properly after exposure. That should stave off any issues.

[Keith decided not to comment on the 'cybernetic prosthetic in water' issue this time because he honestly didn't know how Shiro's arm had handled the idea (he'd never seen it, honestly... as the water planet had been before his arrival and he'd never seen Shiro go swimming), and also because Cyril said what about Kolivan?]

Kolivan and fun don't really seem to go together.

Good luck. You seem to be one of the first that's been able to get him to do half of what you've put him through.

Probably. I know a few people who think it's a good idea to get him to lighten up.

I mostly wanted to say Hi since you moved onto the Goldstone and also if you do manage to get Kolivan to the waterpark, may I request a photo of him looking like a giant wet cat? I need this. for reasons.

You and I look at Kolivan from very very different perspectives. I mean I should have realised that but considering your relationship with him, he might not mind the objectification?

I've gone down a water slide with my waterproof prosthetic before. I think as long as you don't have an issue or time limit with how long it can be wet for then you shouldn't have an issue.

Are you able to swim and stay submerged with it?

I haven't tried yet. Perhaps I ought to make use of that pool I've heard so much about?

Pools have chlorine in them as well so make sure you dry it off well when you're done. Personally I usually rinse mine and then dry it.

It's a type of chemical that they put into the water to keep it clean? I don't know. I thought water was already clean?

Just, don't drink it? Trust me on this. [He learned the hard way. Silly desert boy.]
