[Thor flags a bartender down in the meantime, scooping another glass off the man's tray. Being a concept bar, it only serves one thing - it's just fortunate that it's good strong liquor.]

Didn't one of them get set on fire by bandits? [He pats Loki on the shoulder, a sham of comfort when he's really just rubbing it in:] And that doesn't change my point, you still followed me.

[ loki predictably bristles. ]

I didn't come because of you!

Of course not, that was just random chance.

[Or not. Thor doesn't believe that for a second, but he'll give Loki the illusion of it if that's what he wants. Just... not very sincerely.]

[ loki scowls at him. ]

You were lucky I came. Whose illusions helped disguise your camp?

Yours did. [The agreement comes easily.] And I got you back to those outposts before anyone could tell you were gone.

[ the corners of his lips twitch involuntarily. ]

You did. I'm still surprised we never got into trouble for it.

Well, we were victorious. All the rest is just minor details.

[Heimdall had definitely given them a knowing look on the way back into Asgard, and Thor will never know if Odin figured it out. As far as they could tell, though? They had gotten away with it. It had made them giddy for days afterwards.

Simpler times. Thor drinks for a moment, his good humour fading only a little.]

You did reveal yourself to me too, so you didn't want to hide that much.

[ loki idly tips his glass back and forth before answering. ]

I didn't like hiding. I never have, but there wasn't much else I could do with my powers.

[It's an admission Thor couldn't imagine Loki making not so long ago. Enough so that it startles him at first. Blinking, he watches Loki for a moment before considering what to say.]

Didn't that change, though?

[ loki smiles faintly. ]

Did it?

I think so. You aren't hiding anymore.

[ a soft huff. ]

I suppose not. I prefer to be myself and I refuse to apologize for it any longer. And it is not as though Odin's approval will ever come.

[No, it won't. Not for Loki and not for Thor either. He doubts Odin would be much proud of him today, given everything that's happened since. Still, he thumps Loki on the shoulder.]

[ yeah, whatever. loki takes another long sip of his drink because acknowledging it any further is too much. ]

Change was bound to happen eventually.

[Thor smiles a bit, amused.]

[ he rolls his eyes. ]

It's a good thing no one calls you the Wise Thor.

There's still time for that. Besides, you can't know that no one does.

[It's a big universe. Thor takes another glass off a passing bartender and puts it on the table in front of Loki, given he's nearly done with the one he has.]

Were you just looking around the place then?

[ loki takes it without comment, having a sip. ]

For the most part. It's been a while since we've visited another planet and the last one was dreary.

[ mostly because it made him uncomfortable hearing people in the fleet talk about hunting monsters. ]

There wasn't much happening there, compared to this place. Even if the woods up top were kind of the same.

[Minus the giant wildlife. Thor's already tangled with some of the more aggressive ones here, for the hell of it. And because they were trying to bite him, which was just not acceptable. Thor finishes off his glass, tapping a finger against it.]

All this underneath is a big improvement.

It certainly holds more variety.

[ back to drinking. ]

Anything has more variety than a bunch of trees.

[Who says Thor isn't wise? He grabs another glass and has a drink himself, gazing out over the park below. It's nice to be somewhere livelier. More resources, more distractions. They'll never see everything this place has, that's certain.]

[ loki gives him a look that clearly says really. ]

You're just happy there's enough alcohol to drink.

[Yeah, he is, but when has that ever been in question. He's unphased by the remark.]

You're the one who walked into this bar, Loki.

[ loki points his finger at him. ]

I don't always walk into bars.

Hmm, no, probably not. No doubt you have other ways of taking the measure of a place.

[For Thor, he's always found bars valuable sources of information. It's an easy way to get a sense of the populace and where news tends to travel.]
