Who: Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, & errbody.
Broadcast: fleet-wide, video
Action: marsiva funtimes
When: oct. 22, night (lil backdated)
( video )
[ The feed starts off as video first, before switching through the various modes of voice, text, and quickly skimming through the archives. Sooner or later, he flips it back to video. Figuring it'd be best to switch and leave the mode as is, the last thing he wanted was to be accused of poking through things he wasn't supposed to. ]
The feed seems to play on other stations like this one. Saves in the archives as it runs, too. Think our boss has something to do with this?
[ Sliding off his old guard mask, he tilts his head towards someone off screen. Though their voice is caught easily enough. ]
Hard to say. Someone obviously is responsible for this. [ Her voice is strained and ends on a huff, while she zips the suit up as high as it can go, giving it an extra tug even though it is at its limits. ] Regardless, we should stay on our toes.
Well, I don't think we're gonna start connecting the dots on our own anytime soon. So might as well ask... [ At least there seemed to be somewhat helpful replies on the announcements he'd sifted through. With that, he crosses his arms and after a minute or so of shifting and leaning on the edge of the desk; he asks: ] Anyone out there mind filling us in on all this?
[ Not questioning why he knows vague ideas of space and space travel all of a sudden, either. ]
( action )
[ To anyone still milling about the Marsiva, two middle aged teenagers are currently standing around the comms station a little after their broadcast. With the beefy looking guy in a pink yukata a few sizes too small and the lady beefcake in a gaudy blue catsuit. They're digging out a bunch of small post-its with a few scrawled on napkins from their pockets or folds, with the former sliding his old fox mask to the side of his head as he goes over their loot pile.
Eventually they move onto the communicators, things they're more familiar with than dealing with patron spirits or bathhouse customers of Koriko. Exchanging their frequency numbers and sending texts to test out the connection. And, occasionally, leaning over each others shoulders to try out a number of different emoticons before simmering down. Although the awful late night TV shows pull their attention from time to time. Interesting. ]

Yeah, seems like it. Though I hear we can switch things up and get transferred if we sign a little paperwork. [ setting an arm to her hip as she scoots a bit closer to run a hand on him. ] We'll see how it goes?
[ when their lips nearly touch, he's the first to curl them away with a smile. bumping their noses together instead before angling his arm to catch her hand. threading their fingers together loosely. she the ja rule and he da ashanti. ]
The same goes for you, too. Pretty lucky to have you here.

I'll be prepared for that from the start, then. I'll be ready to sign off on it.
[ She's actually quite pleased with the gesture, perhaps more than were he to have kissed her. Just because things have changed (are more open?) doesn't mean she needs it to be constant affection. This is pretty great as is.
She does a dumb nose-squish, twitching it along with her mouth. Sometimes when we touch, the honesty's too much. uwu ]
Guess we should try to make the most of the time we have, then, huh? [ By which she means more hand-holding. ] Think there's anything worth seeing here?

[ dead like this empty ship, basically. which his perception of time a bit skewed, he doesn't know if their crew assigning is a little soon or later. at least the hand holding is there, ubuu. enjoying the warmth of her hand despite the cold, stanky suit material she'd worn before. ]
Dunno, really. Feel like looking around in our Halloween costumes?

[ She isn't completely sure how he means it (her first thought it something like Alien, honestly), but she knows even if it becomes a very literal dead that there's no point in carrying on without the partner.
She removes her hand from his to take off her gloves; holsters now empty, she treats it as a pocket instead. Instead of holding her hand back out to him, she offers him his arm (not that hands can't be entwined from here). ]
Let's take a gander. [ She smiles because he's not all that far-off. ] Guess that's the Halloween tradition, isn't it? Showing a little skin.
[ In her case it's more everything's molded so perfectly that it looks like it's painted on. She'll probably toss a comment or two his way about his legs soon enough. ]

though he takes her arm without a word, sliding his hand down to rest on top of hers. ]
And what I meant with the ships was, I guess to take it easy with the switching around. If we're on a show, we might not be able to meet up if we keep insisting and turning in requests every week. For ratings or views, if the whole TV thing is to be believed at least.
[ basically he's scurred they'll get shifted onto different ships repeatedly for funsies... uwoh.... dramatic cliff hangers every week. ]

[ Maybe not a traditional one, but one of those parties where it's just her and him... well, that's really all she needs. But she'll take Barry, Parker, Claire, and maybe that DOA guy with the perfect hair. ]
I suppose that's a fair assessment of the situation. [ But then what other option do they have? If they don't ask, they might never be able to see one another in person again. It just might be post-its all over again. ] So, what other option do we have? Wait and hope for the best? I don't think force would be effective.
[ Force doesn't even seem to be an option. To use force, they'd have to find someone to attack, right? So what was there other than now? Her hand tightens around his, fingers sliding between his like a puzzle that's finally been put together. ]

[ that's how he pictures those kinds of nights to end, anyway. hopefully the kid doesn't hold it against him now that he and jill were both gone. though it puts a couple thoughts of his into perspective. ]
Maybe this is what happens whenever someone disappears? Dropped off somewhere else entirely. [ there's a hum at the idea, but his fingers tighten some out of worry. maybe he should count himself lucky to still be with jill, even on space road rules. ] Hn, I could give it a shot in two weeks? I've got no problems signing it first to see, worst thing to happen would be a 'no'.

[ It disappoints her, some, that he's brought up Kagari. Jill was quite fond of him. And of Clara, that sweet girl. Hopefully she was alright back there. ]
If that's the case, then we're lucky to be here together. Maybe we'll see some familiar faces here? [ Wishful thinking, maybe. Although she wasn't all that attached to anyone beyond Chris, she does already miss things... somewhat, anyway. They could be on a desert island and it would be grand, so long as she was with him. ] Alright. Although this is assuming that we will be separated, anyway. We might not be?

[ like getting drunk and vomiting on the birthday boy's shoes. then getting dropped in a stairwell to stew in his shame juices while the partner is escorted off into her sleeping bag bed. good times. ]
Doesn't hurt to be prepared, but I wouldn't wanna wish anything like this onto Kagari or anyone else either. Though they seem like the types who might enjoy all the cameras and attention.
[ swinging their arms idly as they wander. nuzzling at her ear, groce. ]
Though I hope we end up on the same ships.

[ What she is suggesting is that he's Really Weird. Like, really, really, really weird. But he was fun to be around, enthusiastic and bright, able to turn her expression around completely. The way they'd kind of... latched on together, it was interesting. ]
No, of course not. At least it would give us more conclusions to draw upon, if that were the case. [ But Koriko was nice and she's certain that he probably was there for a wish. She'd like Kagari to fulfill that, if he could. ] Ha, maybe more than just a little?
[ It's a nice feeling, after four weeks without him. Even the months prior that they were together, every little spark of affection was wonderful. It helped quell the sounds she hears, the sights she sees, the way her mind brings her back to all the things that she's done.
It helped her accept it. ]
Yeah? [ There is a coy laugh -- nearly a giggle. Jill Valentine when something like love-stricken (or at least able to comfortably convey the feelings that had been there for so long) is kind of, well. Cute. ] I'm just glad to be with you again. Every day, it feels so... so great. For a long time, I could only imagine being this close.
[ He could only imagine it, too. ]
