[ Actually, use of the term "skullkid" was not exactly correct for once, since she's not wearing it today. Who is this normal kid hanging around the SS Red Fish? Or hanging around the shops here.

[ It's hard to be friends with people that you know you'll outlive by centuries, or that you're worried you'll try to kill, or that you've lived centuries without and no matter what they'll never really know you. ]

Your situation is certainly different than mine... I can imagine it was difficult in many ways, living so long. But is enforcing your own loneliness really the best alternative?

There are animals who die of loneliness, but I'm not one of them.

They used to be the same thing. It does make getting acclimated easier. Learning many new things and being in an entirely new situation all at once is much more difficult than finding something familiar.

...it isn't as though I dislike your company, though.

It's all right, Emblica. We can be blunt. It's basically guaranteed that I'll die long before you will.

I confess I'd just rather see you surrounded by people who made you happy.
