three ☀ video / optional action

Who: Mal
Broadcast: Fleetwide!
Action: On the Caprine if anyone desires it! I'm flexible.
When: 6/20.

[As in her first broadcast, Mal can be found tinkering around in the engine room, elbows-deep in something interesting and greasy. This time, though, she seems pensive, deep in thought, perhaps about Deep Subjects and Philosophies.]

[She is, in fact, thinking about something entirely different.]

[When she speaks, it's in tones of airy contemplation, meant to disguise the fact that part of her thinks this is a terrible idea.]

Here is an interesting thing: vampires, for all their reputation for seduction, really aren't that good at it, at least where I come from. When you're always hungry, you mostly rely on people leaving windows open at the right time and then being a bit woozy from blood loss. For the really old ones, the ones who can barely stand without crumbling to dust and really hate sunshine, that's the only way they can eat, and if they tried to seduce anyone their arm would probably fall off.

[She twists at a mysterious innard of the ship with a wrench, tongue in her cheek.]

We've had enough excitement for a while, I think, so why not something boring instead: tell me about romance in your world. Describe the sorts of flowers you like to kill for love. Rate yourself on a scale of one to ten, complete dunce to Casanunda, if you like.

Actually, everyone should have to do that. That's compulsory. I will genteelly admit that I am a nine. [Liar.]

1} Video

Who: Bobbin Threadbare
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: The Personnel room labelled with his name on the SS First Breath, if you want
When: Today! The 16th.

[As always, Bobbin has his hood up, and his face is completely in shadow, even though the room is lit around him, and the hood isn't all THAT deep. (Presumably there's some magic about the hoods of Weavers.) He seems to have gotten the idea that video is the most helpful and useful, though, so you'll have to bear with it not actually being useful at all. Outside of telling you that this is the kind of guy who wears a full grey robe, whatever that might mean to you. He's from a medieval fantasy so his voice is kind of gently British even though he wouldn't know what British was if you asked him.]

I was thinking, I can't do much to help in the way of protecting people from the bugs, or healing or anything. But...no, hang on. Let's try this again.

I'm Bobbin. Erm, Bobbin Threadbare, I suppose, though I don't think Guilds will mean anything to anyone here. Anyway, I might not be able to heal wounds, but there's another trouble about confronting those bugs that I can help with. I can mend, you see, and if you've been injured it's almost certain you've a tear in your clothing as well. And I'd like to help.

[He shuts off the broadcast. And then switches it back on.]

Nearly forgot. I'm on the First Breath, but I guess I could come to the ship, if you wanted. Or another ship, maybe. [Off again.]

Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning

Who: First Breath crew
Broadcast: Nope
Action: SS First Breath
When: After the Shuffle

[Another week, another Shuffle and there's been a few new additions to the First Breath lately! What's everyone up to? Hopefully nobody's allergic to chocolate-flavored dessert cream.]

A cry for help

[a distress call has been tracked across the void, finally leading back to the source. a hulking crippled ship, teeming with hostile alien life, now lies before you.

what do you do? do you dive in or hang back? are you here to learn, play, build, or observe?

however you choose to proceed, your audience is out there somewhere, watching.]

ooc: here is a good ol' themed mingle to get you all started! and don't feel limited by the prompts and what they describe--they're just there as idea-starters, so feel free to go anywhere and do anything.

have fun!

Who: Robin
Broadcast: Video!
Action: None!
When: Now!

---

[hey, it's Robin. he's lounging around in his captain's chair, feet up on the control panel. he's twirling something around in his fingers--it looks kind of like a glow stick? it's a glass cylinder filled with some sort of glowing, red liquid.]

Back in those casino stations, I won one of these.

[he stops twirling the cylinder. when he holds it up closer to the camera, you can see that it's capped with silver on one end. the insides seem to be bubbling a little, as if the liquid is carbonated.]

This is a Luxilizer... though most people below the surface just called them Dummy Sticks, as in, you were an idiot if you walked around the lower levels without them. They're filled with a liquid extracted from a luminescent fungus that grows in the caves of my hometown.

[he twirls it again. Robin himself doesn't seem particularly delighted about the thing, he's just casually explaining, perhaps out of boredom.]

They were originally designed as a backup light source, in case a person got lost in the tunnels. It also makes it easier for others to see them. It can get pretty dangerous down there, in the dark...

[after a pause, he grips the glowing tube and smiles at the camera.]

It's funny to me. No one where I'm from would give these a second thought, but I've learned that underground cities are not a familiar concept in most worlds.
