[Wanda can't help but be drawn to the enormous windows in this room. The tune was certainly pleasing to hear, but she wasn't as nearly interested in locating its source as she was about gazing at the landscape beyond the windows. Even as it begins to storm, she can't quite bring herself to look away.]

[She knows she's in another strange room, but this time... she doesn't feel quite as strong a sense of disorientation or need to be on guard. Or, at least, she doesn't at the moment. She keeps her attention fixed on the view outside the window, just taking in the scenery.]

[As peaceful as it seems, it can't last forever. There is soft moaning, groaning, and screams of pain from the darkness outside. It's turned to night. The only light is that of torches flickering and sputtering in the storm.

There's a crash of thunder, followed by the distinct sound of sniffling and whimpering from the bottom shelf of a nearby bookcase.]

[When she starts to hear the sounds of suffering emanating from the darkness outside the window, she backs up, her expression becoming troubled. When the thunder strikes, she even jumps a little. It sounded close.]

[However, in the quiet that follows after the thunder strike, she is able to make out what sounds like the cries of a small, scared child. She turns towards the direction of the sounds, searching for their source.]

[He's not too hard to find. Curled up on the shelf is a tiny elf with big ears. He wears a violet tunic and long shorts, and his feet are bare.]

Caspa, I'm scared.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Caspa? Did the child mean her? He looked familiar to her though, the ears especially. Wanda crouches down next to the child. Her voice and smile are comforting.]

Hello there, what is your name?

[arcanepower]

[The ears are a dead giveaway, even if his eyes aren't the same color. They're big and round as he looks at her.]

Belthazar, obviously! I know my own name. Are you going to make me write it again?

[notmutantbutmiracle]

Belthazar!

[The name came out a little louder than she intended, but her she was honestly surprised to see him like this, as an even smaller child. She remembered him from when she met him at his little shrine construction aboard the Ikasult, and then later after he had come back to the fleet. She knew the ears looked familiar.]

No, I am not going to make you write your name.

[She lets out a soft giggle, and then gives him a playful smile. She remains crouched down at his eye level.]

Do you... recognize me?

[arcanepower]

[He blinks at her, but it's with the usual blankness of a dream-shade. He's about to answer-- and then another peal of thunder sends him whimpering.]

I don't want to die! I don't want to die...

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[That round of thunder makes Wanda jump too. She turns to look at the window reflexively, almost thinking they would shatter from the blast of that thunder. She takes a deep breath, relaxes and turns back to the whimpering child, trying to sound as comforting as she can.]

Shhh, shhh... it is okay. The thunder outside won't hurt you. You are safe in here, I promise.

[arcanepower]

O-okay.

[He scoots a little closer to her. Really, he's close to hugging her feet, but he keeps his hands to himself.]

But there's something else. I heard there are monsters outside. Is-- is it true we're being attacked?

[If Wanda strains her ears, she can hear the moans of the dead as well as the sound of armor marching...]

[She doesn't shy away from his approach. Instead, she's willing to let him get close if it means he feels safer.]

[She does listen to the sounds coming from outside, they are faint, but discernibly unpleasant. She turns back to Belthazar though, trying to look as comforting and reassuring as she can.]

You do not have to worry. Whatever may or may not be out there, you are safe with me. I will not let any monsters get close to you. All right?
