[ Fun Facts about Garrett Hawke, round eight hundred and forty-three: He has never actually been to a beach for what anyone would call relaxation, ex...cept--well, fine, according to Hawke mowing down passels of slavers can actually be pretty relaxing, but the point is all this business with tanning and recreationally lobbing things at one another and frolicking in the surf is quite new. Because he is a giant hedonist he intends to, and does, indulge as much of as much of this as possible.
They didn't so much have sunscreen in Thedas, so as a consequence he can probably be caught in varying degrees of lobster, depending on the day, after which point he's going to brown up so much people will think he's Rivani. (No one will think this.) Explain the concept, or even better just slather it directly on him! You won't be sorry.
...anyway. If that's not your thing, given that Hawke doesn't discriminate like, at all, just about any indolent, beachy activity is fair game.
PS: Also, freckles. What else is the fan service episode for--oh right. ]
B. Putting the Fun Back in Fungus, OR: Outbreaks of Altruism
[ Of course, no matter how elaborately Hawke himself pretends to the contrary, he can't be content with all laziness all the time; suited terribly to both diplomacy and medicine, but quite well to killing things with fire, he's been tasked (by uh, himself) with tromping around destroying spores. Obviously this works better as a buddy activity, like all outings that involve killing things with fire. In only the most controlled and capable manner. Obviously.
Alternately, because it has been previously noted he's good at lifting heavy things (possibly cheating with the use of subtle - completely unsarcastically suble - force magic) and simple housing construction is actually something he understands due to having grown up in an environment where a person couldn't just, say, call a plumber, he more or less cheerfully inserts himself into a number of repair projects. It's been so long since he was a part of anything but wholesale destruction it's almost strange, but in its way as inherently relaxing as anything sandy and semi-conscious.
Trying to pay him for this is pointless, by the way. Somewhere Allen is in fits of despair. ]
C(losed to Anders). CAAAAAAUGHT in the R....atings Boost, Probably
[ Since the previous prompt has skirted dangerously close to actual sincerity on Hawke's part, what better way to offset it than a romp in the greenery with Anders?
Not like that, audience. We see you there, fingers all over your ......remote controls.
Where were we--right, thrashing greenery. Which is less a fun outing in the woods than actually an attempt to get from one sunny place to another between all these awful spates of mutual selflessness...es that have been occurring. But luck, chance, and grossness are about to intervene, in the form of one of those sudden storms that apparently can crop up at just any old time on fair Blue Planet, fat cirrus clouds suddenly violently oppressed by their much angrier cumulonimbic cousins.
Hawke looks up, naturally, to be immediately smacked in the eye by a rain drop the size of a sovereign. ]
Well. [ Dramatic blinking. ] Change of course? Ideally before we drown.
D. D is for Drinking (Algae, Apparently)
[ AND FINALLY: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single beach no matter how remote must be in possession of least three tiki bars, or ...you know, delicious fish bars in this case. Whether you've actually planned to meet Hawke at one of these or just want to come upon him dubiously eyeing a glass of green wine, the world is your oyster!
At least we think that's an oyster. We hope, anyway. ]
A
Imagine if Kirkwall had this sort of coast.
no subject
A lot less murder, I imagine. Maybe more naps!
[ Considering he is saying this with his eyes closed, heat tilted up to the delicious heat. He's always warm, so he is festively adorned by a light sheen of sweat, but. You know, that's a good look for Hawke. Like most things are. ]

[But in truth, Allen's been spending most of his time on this planet helping out with the Nunnilis trouble. It's not too surprising, Allen was always someone who tried to help the people in front of him. And with this, at least there was something positive they could do about. More positive than putting them out of their misery, anyway]
[Today, as if someone suggested he needed a break from treating patients, he's tagging along with Hawke. Which isn't so bad. He likes Hawke, and even if fire is not his most favorite thing ever - it's not like he's scared of it. Just...not all that fond of burns. They tend to suck]
[He's got a sick mask on- not trusting that these spores are completely harmless to humans. And since he's got no magical fire power to speak of- a bottle of the algae disinfectant if Hawke needs back up.]
[Though right now, he is looking at a map given to him by the locals, an "X" marking where the spotted spore collection was that they needed to go to. Allen's staring at the map, completely complexed]
Wait, isn't that east? I thought they said west...or was it another thing...?
[It should be noted, that he might be holding the map upside down.]
no subject
He is of course wearing like ...nothing protective. It's sort of miraculous he's wearing either shirt or shoes (minimally: he's thrown on a t-shirt along with the long shorts he's been given as swimwear; also sneakers are the best invention in the world). ]
That's east. [ Indication with a forefinger, which is in fact correctly indicating east, because that's just the kind of Cub Scouty information a person amasses when they're from a time previous to like, GPS. ]
Provided that's the direction we're meant to be headed, that is. [ A beat. ] You may be reading a pam rather than a map, by the way.
[ Because it's upsided--just accept that he's hilarious, all right. ]

"I wear more cloth than this when I bathe!"

A pause, perhaps for effect. "Hypothetical you, not you personally. Anyway, if anything you might be declared overdressed for the occasion."
Do they have beach chairs? Those long ones you can basically lie down on? Why not. Also, he does have a t-shirt he's completely not using, if she wants to make use of it, and the fact that it would come down to her knees.

Someone should probably explain the point of a bikini to her at some point. Not that. She probably won't just ignore it anyway.
Unlike a certain someone she isn't particularly lobster coloured, although she is perhaps a little more tanned already. Of course, Isabela's never been overly concerned for the feelings of others. Not even her friends at times. So she doesn't feel even the barest amount of guilt when she wraps her arms around Hawke and his presumably rather tender shoulders from behind.]
You know, I think I rather like this planet. It's so nice to see the sea again after all this time.
no subject
Maker's bloody breath, woman.
[ What other possible reason could there be to complain about the sudden attachment of naked Isabela? None. ...possibly other people might consider this sort of murky territory, given the givens, but really. He shifts her arm to around his neck, which is probably also burnt, but it's less pain than his entire back.
Also at this point let's say he's at least sensible enough that they are in shade, because exposing already burnt flesh to the sun a second or like, eighth time, is just the worst idea anyone has ever had. ]
Thinking of hitching a ride somewhere?

[Catching sight of Hawke prompts a sort of appreciative hum and a friendly-enough nod. Then he spikes the ball at him. Think fast, buddy.]
no subject
Yes. Moving on, to the point where one eye cracks open and he flings up a hand like he's going to block his beautiful, beautiful face from being marred by dreadfully inconsiderate bruising. This is true, except what actually happens is that the ball then appears to smack into a wall in mid-air, careening off in another direction entirely to splat with a thunk into the nearby sand. ]
Prone to dramatic entrances, are you?
[ He is so dry all the sand now appears liquid by comparison. But also appreciative, because like recognizes like, even if the magic was more instinctive than intentionally dramatic. ]

mod permission has been grantedHawke has figured out the natives don't really mind magic as long as it's not enormous and scary and eating people (in fact some of them are even interested!), so when this supposition is put to him he's more or less acting as a crane. (the ...construction kind, not the bird that stands on one leg, although for the right price a person could probably get him to do the latter as well. ANYWAY.) ]Hello, Seeker. [ He doesn't actually follow this up with any variant on 'don't you look lovely today,' but his tone has exactly that kind of effusive joviality. ]
I suppose I do! Much as a professional smasher of things can, anyway. Lothering wasn't exactly what you'd call a bustling metropolis. Something or other always needed thatching.

Kairi grimaces at the lobster her security officer has become. Her intention had been to sunbathe, but she can't ignore Hawke's current state. So she grabs her bottle of sunscreen and tromps over to him.]

[This is his delightfully articulate response to the wind whipping up around them, the ends of his hair snapping against the back of his neck. He tents his hands over his head, like that will do absolutely anything to protect him from the rain drops that are starting to fall like someone opened a water main.]
Anyone who waxes poetic about the "splendors of nature" has clearly never actually been in nature before. [Thunder rumbles. It went from cheerfully sunny to dimly threatening in a handful of seconds.] I suppose going back the way we came would be faster. Not that there's much difference between mostly drowned and thoroughly drowned.
