A. Beaches: Not just for Bandits Anymore!

[ Fun Facts about Garrett Hawke, round eight hundred and forty-three: He has never actually been to a beach for what anyone would call relaxation, ex...cept--well, fine, according to Hawke mowing down passels of slavers can actually be pretty relaxing, but the point is all this business with tanning and recreationally lobbing things at one another and frolicking in the surf is quite new. Because he is a giant hedonist he intends to, and does, indulge as much of as much of this as possible.

They didn't so much have sunscreen in Thedas, so as a consequence he can probably be caught in varying degrees of lobster, depending on the day, after which point he's going to brown up so much people will think he's Rivani. (No one will think this.) Explain the concept, or even better just slather it directly on him! You won't be sorry.

...anyway. If that's not your thing, given that Hawke doesn't discriminate like, at all, just about any indolent, beachy activity is fair game.

PS: Also, freckles. What else is the fan service episode for--oh right.
]

B. Putting the Fun Back in Fungus, OR: Outbreaks of Altruism

[ Of course, no matter how elaborately Hawke himself pretends to the contrary, he can't be content with all laziness all the time; suited terribly to both diplomacy and medicine, but quite well to killing things with fire, he's been tasked (by uh, himself) with tromping around destroying spores. Obviously this works better as a buddy activity, like all outings that involve killing things with fire. In only the most controlled and capable manner. Obviously.

Alternately, because it has been previously noted he's good at lifting heavy things (possibly cheating with the use of subtle - completely unsarcastically suble - force magic) and simple housing construction is actually something he understands due to having grown up in an environment where a person couldn't just, say, call a plumber, he more or less cheerfully inserts himself into a number of repair projects. It's been so long since he was a part of anything but wholesale destruction it's almost strange, but in its way as inherently relaxing as anything sandy and semi-conscious.

Trying to pay him for this is pointless, by the way. Somewhere Allen is in fits of despair.
]

C(losed to Anders). CAAAAAAUGHT in the R....atings Boost, Probably

[ Since the previous prompt has skirted dangerously close to actual sincerity on Hawke's part, what better way to offset it than a romp in the greenery with Anders?

Not like that, audience. We see you there, fingers all over your ......remote controls.

Where were we--right, thrashing greenery. Which is less a fun outing in the woods than actually an attempt to get from one sunny place to another between all these awful spates of mutual selflessness...es that have been occurring. But luck, chance, and grossness are about to intervene, in the form of one of those sudden storms that apparently can crop up at just any old time on fair Blue Planet, fat cirrus clouds suddenly violently oppressed by their much angrier cumulonimbic cousins.

Hawke looks up, naturally, to be immediately smacked in the eye by a rain drop the size of a sovereign.
]

Well. [ Dramatic blinking. ] Change of course? Ideally before we drown.

D. D is for Drinking (Algae, Apparently)

[ AND FINALLY: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single beach no matter how remote must be in possession of least three tiki bars, or ...you know, delicious fish bars in this case. Whether you've actually planned to meet Hawke at one of these or just want to come upon him dubiously eyeing a glass of green wine, the world is your oyster!

At least we think that's an oyster. We hope, anyway.

[a - do something constructive.]

[Cassandra has very little interest in spending time on the beach. In fact, that swimsuit she was given has likely managed to get very lost if not accidentally set on fire. (Sorry to the viewers, but you are being deprived seeing Cassandra's abs. That's just how these things go.) She'd rather spend her time a little more productively and seeks to help repair the damages that have been left behind. Naturally, she doesn't accept any payment for her services. Catch her on a break when she's not necessarily relaxing, but she's certainly a little stiller and observing (as well as appreciating) the things and people around her, or help her by passing a tool or material.]

[b - closed to mal.]

[Cassandra stops working at least long enough to find Mal at some point. What she finds is not what she expects and she has to stifle a smile, biting her lower lip.]

You look ridiculous.

[Which is the Maker's honest truth. That hat is absurd. But it's not mean to be an insult. At least, not a derogatory one. It's just jarring to see Mal looking less than... well, elegant is the best word for it. Cassandra isn't sure what it is about Mal, but she has this tendency to look rather close to unnaturally put-together in a way that's almost always appealing to the eye even when she's covered herself in grease from the engines she's working on. But the hat? There's just no saving her appearance with the hat.]

Where did you even find it?

[c - misc.]

[So, maybe there is more to this planet than just building things and Cassandra can maybe take some time off to relax. You might find her on the beach with a book or you could find her wandering about in the jungle. You could also perhaps find her wandering around the various shops, though she seems to be taking a little more of a utilitarian approach in her shopping and seeking things that could be helpful to have stored on board rather than anything for herself personally. Either way, she does eventually indulge in a little downtime. But only a little. There are still things that she could and probably should be doing besides lazing about like this.]

A. On the Beach

[Robots, no matter how sophisticated they might be, are not particularly good at relaxing, but that is what he's expected to do, apparently. Daneel is attempting to comply with this, but whether he's doing a good job of that is... debatable.

He sits, cross-legged, on the sand, wearing only a small, bright pink speedo. Completely practical, protects the modesty he's expected to have in public, and of course he's completely unembarrassed. Yes there's a bulge in there. He stares out to sea, one hand shading his eyes to see better, looking curiously at some distant clouds and wondering if they're something to be concerned about.]

B. Hard at work.

[Work is far more familiar than play, at least. Payment is... unusual. But he can still gather useful materials for his shipmates, surely. So he took a job working the farms, hard and labourious work under the sun which he does without complaint -- or, for that matter, without pause. Maybe someone should check on him?]

C. Oh no a storm!

[The storm hits suddenly, as they do locally, and Daneel reacts instantly. He doesn't care for himself, no, but anyone who might be out in the open, well. He'll take them by the arm -- gently, but firmly -- and usher them to safety.]

Come, we must go at once.

[Oh, she's here. And she's all dressed up in a very nice red bathing suit, floral sarong tied around her hips. She guesses that's appropriate beachwear here. But this is... entirely alien. Oh yes. And she frowns, partly at Hawke but mostly just at the whole situation.]

Imagine if Kirkwall had this sort of coast.

[A: burninating the countryside.]

[It's not hard to find Nightingale, really. When she heard about the fungal blossoms, and then that they could be solved with fire... Well, she's a mage, killing shit with fire is what she does.

So, if you're around hunting the fungus yourself, you may be caught off-guard by a sudden giant pillar of fire erupting out of the ground under the blossoms, completely incinerating them. But, if you look carefully, no matter how much is engulfed in the flame, nothing else but that fungus is affected- branches aren't burned, leaves aren't so much as singed, you can stick your hand in the pillar and it's not even warm.

But Nightingale herself is standing nearby, watching the fire fade out, and she looks rather frustrated.]

[B: Phobia fun]

[Alternately, you can find Nightingale on the beach. She isn't wearing her swimsuit, instead wearing her normal ridiculous uniform, but she's looking at the water, and she is very stiff and breathing very quickly just watching it. If you can recognize the signs of panic, it's pretty obvious what's happening there.

If you can't, she's just some weird girl in a bizarre costume standing around on the beach like an idiot. You might want to move her before she gets a sunburn.]

A. General beachiness.

[Maker spare the ginger who goes to the beach. Generally, Aveline's off-hours are filled with killing bandits, but... well, this might do, too. She has a very nice red swimsuit which is perhaps a little more revealing than anything she wears ever, but the floral sarong around her hips... helps. If any viewers like muscled women, well, she's practically chiselled. Also very freckled and likely to become more freckled in this sun. Also probably pink.

Anyway, she's sitting on the beach, trying to read, but occasionally she just... fidgets. Because this isn't how she usually relaxes.]

B. Drinks

[This is better than trying to read on the beach. Aveline's found herself one of the little open-air fish bars, and while she's picked a few of the safer-looking bits of food (is this fish raw? Is it supposed to be like that?) she's still... noticeably wary of it.

The liquor is also weird. And green. But it will probably still get her drunk. So that's fine.]

C. Weather Alert

Maker damn this weather.

[As the storm hits, Aveline dives into a nearby cave hastily, not escaping a little of the first rains; she's quite wet, and she hugs herself against it. She certainly never looked into the cave before she took shelter.]

[a - beach bummin' it.]

[If there's one thing that Elena finds to be a refreshing change of pace, it's the chance to relax on the beach. Donning her new swimsuit, she's on that beach before she even contemplates doing anything else. She sunbathes with an alcoholic beverage or two, she hangs out in the surf, she collects shells and other things she finds on shore, and she's also easy to rope into a game of volleyball. Don't worry. She won't use her vampire speed and strength to cheat. Not intentionally anyway. Walk with her, play a game, or just spend some time lazing on the beach beside her for a chat.]

[b - jungle fever.]

[But there's more to this planet clearly than just its beach. Elena also ventures into the jungle, still in her bikini because why not? That will possibly be a bad decision later when she gets caught out in a storm, but for most of her wanderings it's relatively peaceful. She enjoys looking at the flowers and the various animals roaming around, but she's sure to leave everything as it is and not to take anything. When she finds a natural hot spring, she settles right in with a deep sigh and closes her eyes.]

[It's only that storm she gets caught out in that she manages to start having a bad time and has to race to find shelter.]

[c - shop 'til you drop.]

[Although technically no longer a teenager, shopping is something Elena likes to do. You'll definitely find her with the merchants as she looks over the various wares. Most of it is honestly frivolous things that she's buying such as cosmetics and accessories, but why not? This place is essentially a vacation and she figures she might as well indulge a little here and there. She does buy a few things to bring back to the ship though that others are free to help themselves to such as some of the fish and alcohol, but for the most part she's a little selfish today and taking the time to get herself things she wants.]

"Hawke... are you sure this is...appropriate attire?" Syeira glances around, clearly self-conscious. She hasn't been out long enough for that pink in her cheeks to be anything but a blush, as she holds the flimsy beach wrap (it's a sarong, but she doesn't really know what that means) around her chest. It's doing next to nothing to cover up all of herself. Her legs are showing, the breeze kicks up the fabric and flutters it away from her. The whole planet is saying 'just go with it', but she's still unsure.

[A. Summer lovin', had me a blast (INTO SPACE)!]

[For the moment, Clay doesn't just enjoy the beach and the luxuries it has to give him. He's more excited about the fact that this is a new planet. As soon as the ship is touched down and powered down, he's launching himself out the door and yelling about how the oxygen is breathable, how the sand feels against his hands, how the plant life looks so different and yet so similar. He wants to capture all of it as a way to remember it, as a way to bring this home and show proof to the world that life outside of the Milky Way exists, that sustainable planets exist. But he has no camera, no phone or laptop, so what can he do?

...

So, flooters, on the network you'll find the classic shaky-cam occurring as Clay crawls up to an alien lizard that's just chillin on the beach. He gets right up close to it, then lowers the communication device to get a better look at it.]

Look at this - Look at this! Oooh, isn't it stellar? It's got a large tail to swim with, and fins on its arms! I wonder if it can -

[And then the lizard gets fed up with this fuckin nerd recording it and turns out, jaw gaping as it hisses at the camera and charges at it.]

OH CRA -

[And then it cuts off. Buuut it'll probably cut back in for more wildlife, more plants, more scenery, and definitely some of the locals, with Clay's excited babbling as his way of narration and the best explanation he can give for what everyone's seeing.]

[B. He showed off, splashing around (INTO SPACE)]

[Later, he actually will enjoy the beach. Sometimes he lays there on the beach in his swim trunks, just soaking up the sun and visor pulled slightly over his eyes to block it once it gets a bit too uncomfortable. Sometimes he'll be out in the ocean, collecting sea shells and sand as possible souvenirs to take back with him.

And really, he can't help but admire some of the fleet who look gorgeous and are so skimpily clad, though he tries not to look too much. IT'S HARD OUT HERE FOR A BI GUY ALL RIGHT.

And, sometimes, the inevitable storm will hit. And Clay always has to be in the worst place for it, having to get under a tree or scramble out of the ocean to escape from it. He's got a good amount of muscle, but he's no super man, and he keeps almost losing his precious visor. Maybe help a guy out?]

[C. Tell me more, tell me more, could she get me a friend (IN SPACE)?]

[At some point, Clay ends up figuring out that the short-range shuttles are perfect for sea exploration. So at the beach, he stands there, still in his swim trunks, and offers rides into the ocean.]

Hey! Wanna go see what's out there? [He asks while gesturing to the sea.]

[D. Oh, those summer nights (IN SPACE)]

[Take him with whatever you want to drag him into!]

[A - Fight the fungus]
[The search for a cure to the fungus problem is a pressing one, and for the first while on the blue planet most of Shirley's time is spent helping. Right now she's checking on a group of infected Nunnilus, frowning as she notes some of the more advanced cases. A pink glow can occasionally be seen around her when she applies her healing eres where she thinks it might help. When she's done with that, she takes a second to breathe and talk with anyone else helping out.]

This is tiring, isn't it? But at least we have the chance to do something more here.

[B - Don't trust (this) ocean]
[The ocean is big and deep and fascinating, and for someone who can breathe underwater it's not hard to get carried away. If you're somewhere on a shore one nice afternoon, you might see a glowing spot in the water zig-zagging towards you, ripples following after it...followed by a much larger ripple not too far behind. A girl's head emerges from the water, hair shining with light, and if there's any doubt about the situation the panic on her face clearly shows that she has gotten herself into trouble.

Oh, boy.]

[C - Taste of home]
[Thankfully predators are scarce on land and Ferines hair doesn't attract quite so much attention out of the water, so hanging out among the islands is a very good deal as well. Shirley's busied herself learning all she can about the local history and culture for her own reasons, but between the mix of cultures and the ocean on all sides she's falling into a weird version of homesickness where she mostly feels nostalgic and hopeful instead of sad. Of course there's the usual brand of homesickness too, and the island markets are well equipped to help combat that a little.

Currently Shirley's got a basket of fragrant fresh-baked breads in one hand and a small bag of items to barter in the other, and she's got her eye on some dyed cloth.]

[ Well, who can argue with that? Misha ducks down to take his arms and weathers the next wave as best she can. Once that one is gone, she tugs him up until she can wrap her arms underneath his and lift him out of the water entirely. That doesn't negate the rain or the winds, but it takes away a lot of the immediate danger. ]

[a - beach boy]

[Hell yeah, Joseph is all about this beach. Joseph spends most of the daytime playing. He plays 110% at volleyball, too competitive to play any less, and he swims. Sometimes he's a little lower energy and spends time just walking the beach, picking up weird seashells he finds along the way or even finds a good spot to build a gigantic sandcatsle for the surf to eventually wash away when the tide rolls back in. He only really settles down when it comes to chowtime (which holy shit, he is so excited about real food; it's a wonder he doesn't cry) and at night. In the evenings is when he gathers some booze and builds a decent-sized fire that anyone's welcome to find a spot and sit nearby.]

[b - under the sea]

[Buckle up, kiddos. Joseph is definitely making some excursions below the surface. It doesn't matter if you're on his ship or if he even really knows you all that well. If you want to see what's out there in the big, blue wet thing, Joseph's piloting a shuttle down there. Of course, it may not be the smoothest ride. He's still getting the hang of this whole piloting thing. But a few bumps and scrapes on a few underwater formations isn't so bad, right? It's not like he's gonna crash.]

[...Hopefully.]

[c - constructive criticism]

[Okay, but Joseph doesn't completely screw around the entire time they're on the planet. He does try to lend a hand where he can, where he won't be in the way. Most of this involves lifting heavy things and simpler tasks that quite honestly don't require a lot of skill, but from time to time he can be found with a small horde of children. Don't worry, the kids are in good hands and he keeps them entertained with tag (he occasionally carries the kids with shorter legs on his shoulders so they're not always "it") and hide and seek (which he naturally exaggerates how hard it is to find the kids).]

Someone should probably explain the point of a bikini to her at some point. Not that. She probably won't just ignore it anyway.

Unlike a certain someone she isn't particularly lobster coloured, although she is perhaps a little more tanned already. Of course, Isabela's never been overly concerned for the feelings of others. Not even her friends at times. So she doesn't feel even the barest amount of guilt when she wraps her arms around Hawke and his presumably rather tender shoulders from behind.]

A - BEACHES

[It may come as a great surprise to many that Isabela loves the ocean. Granted, she rarely uses beaches for leisure, but she's nothing if not willing to try out new things.

She's picked up the rules of crossfire pretty quickly and will gladly play that with anyone interested. And then, of course, there's also the sea to enjoy. On the beach itself she can usually be found in a pretty, blue bikini with decorative chains and beads.*

In the surf, however, she's not wearing much of anything. Much is an important part to note. She still has her daggers (only two :c) strapped to her thighs. Just in case.

*Yes, I do realise the picture is purple, don't worry.]

B - THE BARS

[Algae isn't Isabela's favourite thing to make alcohol from it turns out, but it will get her drunk just as well as anything else. She's certainly had worse. Still has worse actually. She really does need to get rid of what's left of Varric's stash. By drinking it, naturally, but with less enthusiasm than she would with anything that actually tasted decent.

The food is certainly... interesting, but not it's not exactly what she's there for. Not that it will stop her commenting, or potentially just taking food to try for herself if anyone leaves their plate unguarded enough.]

C - UNDERWATER ADVENTURES (pre-existing CR)

[Mal would mock anyone who told her that vampires go poof in sunlight. She's not that weak, and people really shouldn't believe all the stereotypes. However, it is true that she tends to . . . sizzle, just a bit, if she isn't careful, which is why she's (probably) grateful for the hat that she finds in her locker. All in all, it's not the silliest thing she's ever worn.]

[She doesn't wear a bathing suit to the beach - because the one that's dumped in her locker along with the hat is atrocious and makes her uncomfortable - but she does go down to the seaside, because she's insatiably curious and because the sound of the waves from a distance is a comforting rush. She can only be on the beach for a little while at a time, but while she's there, she can absolutely be lured into traditional beach activities such as building a sandcastle (complete with gothic turrets), kicking at the surf with booted toes, and burying herself in sand so she can jump out at passers-by.]

b. she's the muscle

[When she's not at the beach, she spends a good amount of time guarding the infected Nunnalis. They're overall a pleasant people, she finds, if a bit introverted, and she chats a fair amount with the ones that aren't ill - but the second one of them seems likely to go out of control, Mal is immediately behind them with a headlock. Anyone who's paying attention might notice that her fighting style's improved slightly, thanks to lessons with Natasha. She's also perfectly willing to chat with fellow guards to pass the time, and she has lots of opinions about the planet if you care to ask.]

c. explore with the vampire nothing can go wrong

[In Mal's opinion, a vampire from a deciduous environment who does not take the opportunity to explore a tropical island is an utter fool - and she is only a slight fool, so she goes tromping into the forest the first minute she gets a chance. Come with her and enjoy a variety of adventures, including: peering very closely at local flora and fauna, slipping down the side of a volcano, investigating tidepools (and below the surface, too, if you've got a shuttle that can take her), and getting caught in the jungle in a heavy rainstorm.]

[She's been working - well, more or less working. More like chatting with the natives, but, well, six of one, half a dozen of the other. She brightens when she sees Cassandra coming, then makes a face at the comment. Rude. Honest, but rude.]

It was in my locker. I need it.

[You don't even want to know how bad she sunburns, Cassandra.]

a. poses dramatically while sunbathing

[Caesar is on the beach approximately one-eighth of a second after he realizes there is one. All in all, he feels like this is a karmically sound situation: he trained really hard for a worthy goal, and now he's going to just sit on his ass on a beach. In an incredibly patriotic Speedo, no less. Find him here a good 75% of the time he's planetside, either sunbathing (his choice) or being dragged out into sand and surf - the latter only if somebody else makes him, although he'll get into it and engage in serious splashfights and burying people in the sand eventually.]

[An important note: he is still wearing his fingerless gloves while he lounges on the beach. This may seem like an incongruous detail, at least until he feels like impressing someone, at which point he'll charge up and send a preternaturally strong, crackling bubble from the fabric of his gloves to rest somewhere on your person, quite possibly your nose. Yes, he does smell like fabric softener at all times, thank you for noticing.]

b. poses dramatically while working

[If you stay on the beach forever, though, you'll shrivel up and die (this is Science), so Caesar ventures inland to the settlements eventually. He finds the people of the island chains to be friendly and pleasant and gets to work immediately flirting with the majority of the population. When that get old (which takes a while), he dives into whatever odd jobs people have to give him - mostly assorted chores and building, for which he still doesn't deign to put on a shirt. Fuck shirts.]

c. poses dramatically while doing other shit

[He can also be found pretty much anywhere else on the island whenever or wherever you want him. Notable locations include distastefully investigating this bug business (he hates bugs), getting caught like a wet cat in a rainstorm in the middle of the jungle, shopping for useless crap in the market, and half-asleep in the hot springs.]
