[A - Fight the fungus]
[The search for a cure to the fungus problem is a pressing one, and for the first while on the blue planet most of Shirley's time is spent helping. Right now she's checking on a group of infected Nunnilus, frowning as she notes some of the more advanced cases. A pink glow can occasionally be seen around her when she applies her healing eres where she thinks it might help. When she's done with that, she takes a second to breathe and talk with anyone else helping out.]

This is tiring, isn't it? But at least we have the chance to do something more here.

[B - Don't trust (this) ocean]
[The ocean is big and deep and fascinating, and for someone who can breathe underwater it's not hard to get carried away. If you're somewhere on a shore one nice afternoon, you might see a glowing spot in the water zig-zagging towards you, ripples following after it...followed by a much larger ripple not too far behind. A girl's head emerges from the water, hair shining with light, and if there's any doubt about the situation the panic on her face clearly shows that she has gotten herself into trouble.

Oh, boy.]

[C - Taste of home]
[Thankfully predators are scarce on land and Ferines hair doesn't attract quite so much attention out of the water, so hanging out among the islands is a very good deal as well. Shirley's busied herself learning all she can about the local history and culture for her own reasons, but between the mix of cultures and the ocean on all sides she's falling into a weird version of homesickness where she mostly feels nostalgic and hopeful instead of sad. Of course there's the usual brand of homesickness too, and the island markets are well equipped to help combat that a little.

Currently Shirley's got a basket of fragrant fresh-baked breads in one hand and a small bag of items to barter in the other, and she's got her eye on some dyed cloth.]

[ Well, tiring is one word for it when you have the job of helping restrain the severe cases while treatments get administered. Sure, his spiderman powers ribbons help a lot, but by break time he's looking a bit like he went a couple rounds in a bar fight. In fact when Shirley approaches him, it looks like he's pulled down his medical mask just so he can put a cool algae pack on a large bruise forming on his cheek ]

Yeah...I just wished they punched a little less hard. [How do things with pincers even punch anyway?!]

[Yikes, Allen, that sure is a shiner. Shirley peers at it for a second before looking back at the rest of the patients they have to take care of, trying to gauge how much power she has versus how many people there are to go. Pity there aren't any replenishing gels around here, but that's a little much to expect so far from home. Anyway, right now she probably has enough.]

Do you need any help with that? I should be able to heal the worst of it, at least.

Ah-

[He hesitates. Partly because he doesn't want to take away healing power that could be used for the Nunnilis. But also partly because healing spells always have a chance of going wrong for him. Though admitting that means...explaining some rather not so great things]

That's okay! I've had much worse bruises than this! It looks works than it feels.

[Shirley gives him a look because just about all of her friends have brushed off something that blossomed into a load of drama at some point or another, but she's hardly going to force him to get healed.]

...Well, let me know if you do need anything. Otherwise, some rest might do you good. How long have you been working?

[Ahahaha he'll keep smiling through that look! Please be convinced shirley please]

Um...just since this morning!

[...She's just. Going to sigh.]

If you don't want healing, at least take more time to care for your injuries. You look like a few good hits from another patient might knock you down.

[Right now, Vima is walking on the beach in her swimsuit, thinking she should either try swimming or find someone to teach her--the latter, probably--when she sees the light in the water.

...And then the obvious danger.

She takes off running into the water--maybe she doesn't have a lightsaber, but she can use the Force still. Vima registers that it's Shirley as she calls on it to try and pull the other girl along faster.]

[Shirley can't feel the Force or anything, but after a while she does become aware that the distance between her and the creature chasing her is growing a little larger. While making her way to shore she spots Vima in the distance and tries to call out to her - but given that she's putting most of her concentration into outswimming her pursuer, she only manages to get out a single word.]

Go!

[Go? Go where? Away? That's not about to happen, sheesh.]

Just keep swimming!

[Hm, maybe... Vima reaches out to the thing, whatever it is, that's following her and tries to get a hold of its mind. Maybe she can confuse it, or make it not hungry anymore. She'll try the latter since she has no idea what kind of senses it's employing to track her.]

[She's not leaving! Shirley only has so much room to spare for further distress, though, so she focuses on reaching the shore as quickly as she can. Just another minute, if she doesn't get caught first--

A quick look behind her says the gap between her and the creature is still growing, but Vima may note that the creature hasn't given up yet. Hunger or no, the shiny thing still has its attention.]

[Darn, it's still going! Maybe she should have just kept with pulling Shirley along. But it's got a simpler mind than a human. It seems to be after Shirley for a different reason than hunger... maybe Vima can make it afraid of her?

Yeah. Okay. She puts her focus and the Force into inducing as much sheer terror into the creature as she can in hopes of making it flee back into deeper waters.]

[That seems to work, and Shirley slows down for a second once she realizes the monster's begun retreating - and then she speeds up again, getting to shore quickly before it can change its mind. As soon as she steps onto dry land she starts wringing out her hair - it's still too wet to reduce the glow, but better to get out the excess water at least.

Vima's still there, which comes as something of a dismay to her given that she's not totally aware of what's just happened.]

You didn't have to stay here! That could have been dangerous.

[It's the pink glow that gets Stefan - although he's been punched around more times than a guy should be, he hasn't once shown any sign of injury. Sure, he had a large gash across his cheek, but in the span of time since Shirley's last seen him, it's... not really here.

He manages a small smile at her as he continues to administer treatment.] I could deal with a little less chaos, but yeah. I couldn't imagine not helping them either.

Right. After what happened last month...

[She takes a long, deep breath and lets it out again.]

It's good, knowing that all of that wasn't for nothing. I hated not being able to do anything for the Nunnilis.

You and me both. Maybe, this is a second chance - not just for us, but for them too.

[He'd arrived on the Fleet in the middle of the madness and mayhem, so he wasn't able to offer them as much support as he would've wished. That, and vampire blood as a healing device was a bit gruesome.] You holding up okay so far?

I'm fine. I need to make sure I don't overspend myself, but so far I'm doing all right.

[Side effects of having no healing gels around: you get conservative about power usage. Just in case, right?]

What about you? I know you haven't been here long, so all of this must be a lot for you.

Kind of. The last time I did something like this, everyone was human, so... [He'd hold out his hand, but his regeneration factor's been helping him out big-time. Instead, he gestures back towards their patients.]

Not as much punching or kicking when you helped them out. I can't blame the guys, but it still hurts.

Yes, it does.

[Not that Shirley's been on the receiving end of much of it, since she's been erring on the side of caution so she doesn't need to spend a Cure on herself, but when you battle alongside a fist-fighter...yeah, that stuff hurts.]

[Naturally, Beverly has been helping the infected Nunnilis as well, though more on the research side of things, hoping that the cure they discovered in the fleet can be manufactured here on the planet as well. Today, like Shirley, she's taking notes and scanning some of the Nunnalis that Allen has wrangled together with her tricorder. When Shirley speaks, she looks momentarily surprised, since she was so absorbed in her work, but she gives Shirley a small smile.]

Yes, I'm glad we were able to find their people so quickly. Maybe we'll be able to stop anything like this from happening again.

I hope so. We'll be able to keep a sample of the cure after we leave, won't we? If this fungus causes problems outside of this system as well, maybe we could find a way to distribute it more widely.

[No ifs, no doubts about getting the cure manufactured here. They have to make it work.]

Don't worry, I have all the important data regarding the cure stored both in the ship's computer and on my tricorder. And I have samples in the lab as well. We'll be prepared if we run into this again.

Good. And - do you think it's likely? They said the next colony is far away, but...

[Well, Shirley's no expert on space like Beverly is.]

It's hard to say... it seems all the pods from the Iskaulit were headed towards this planet, but who knows if there are other infected ships or colonies out there, or if the Marsiva will take us there.

[Disgusted.]

Probably depends on how interested in all this our audience is.
