A. General beachiness.

[Maker spare the ginger who goes to the beach. Generally, Aveline's off-hours are filled with killing bandits, but... well, this might do, too. She has a very nice red swimsuit which is perhaps a little more revealing than anything she wears ever, but the floral sarong around her hips... helps. If any viewers like muscled women, well, she's practically chiselled. Also very freckled and likely to become more freckled in this sun. Also probably pink.

Anyway, she's sitting on the beach, trying to read, but occasionally she just... fidgets. Because this isn't how she usually relaxes.]

B. Drinks

[This is better than trying to read on the beach. Aveline's found herself one of the little open-air fish bars, and while she's picked a few of the safer-looking bits of food (is this fish raw? Is it supposed to be like that?) she's still... noticeably wary of it.

The liquor is also weird. And green. But it will probably still get her drunk. So that's fine.]

C. Weather Alert

Maker damn this weather.

[As the storm hits, Aveline dives into a nearby cave hastily, not escaping a little of the first rains; she's quite wet, and she hugs herself against it. She certainly never looked into the cave before she took shelter.]

[Raw fish isn't exactly something she's used to, but... well, she's eaten much worse over the years. She picks the piece Aveline is currently staring suspiciously at, eating it herself.]

Cheer up, big girl. At least it's dead. That's more than could be said for some of the things they served at the Hanged Man.

Generally, the more questionable food at the Hanged Man wasn't supposed to be that way. Ideally.

[Well. Isabela doesn't seem to be keeling over. That's a good sign. Aveline picks up another piece and pops it in her mouth, eyes shut. Her eyebrows raise.]

That's not... bad.

[She still doesn't look entirely convinced.]

Well, you're still alive. That's a start.

[Not that. She was expecting her to die Aveline still half looks as though she thinks she might.]

It's a fussy way of cooking. Elaborate.. I'm sure they'd love it in Orlais, but even Orlesian food isn't usually... raw, like this.

[She shakes her head and reaches for her drink instead.]

Maybe they just don't like stew in a climate like this.

[Cassandra has not spent much time on the beach herself and has utterly rejected the notion of a swimsuit, thank you very much. She will keep her clothes on. She's kept herself busy by helping with construction. But she can't work 24/7, so she does eventually wander into the bars for a meal and liquor.]

I find it's not quite as bad as it looks.

And what does that mean? It doesn't look very good.

[Hey now, Cassandra, this place is too warm for regular clothes. At least, that's Aveline's story and she's sticking to it.]

Everything is either made of seaweed or it's a fussy little roll. Why would you make it like that?

[To that, Cassandra has no real answer, shaking her head a little with a slight shrug.]

It's an acquired taste. Not easily acquired, but some of it I find a little more...palatable than others.

[The less fishier-tasting dishes, anyway.]

I can see that. At least the drink is all right, if green.

[She sighs, and leans back in her seat a little.]

[Fenris isn't planning on relaxing on the beach at all. Relaxing isn't something he can do, and the idea of lying on the sand doing nothing doesn't appeal at all. It's while he's crossing the beach from whatever job he was doing that day, tired but satisfied when he notices Aveline. The outfit is enough to make him pause, confused.]

...I did not expect to see you here.

[Aveline, what are you wearing?? ]

[... Oh great. Not that she's not glad to see you, Fenris, but this is just a bit embarrassing. She sets her book aside, not quite meeting his eyes.]

I'm... I'm trying to relax. I gather that's what we're supposed to be doing.

[wolfuncaged]

[At least he's not laughing at her. Not outwardly, anyway. ]

I suppose that is the idea. I have been working.

A good deal more productive than I've been, then.

[She shakes her head, mostly at herself. And as long as the only laughing is inward, all is just fine.]

This place doesn't seem to have much use for my sort of work, is all.

[Natasha's stretched on a lounge chair, not too far away, sprawled at ease in a swimsuit similar in style to Aveline's own. She's not as muscular or quite as pale as the other woman, but she's clearly in shape--and just as relaxed as the other woman is uncomfortable.]

Hope you remembered sunscreen, otherwise you're going to have one hell of a burn.

I'm... not sure what that is.

[Not sure what--oh, that's right. Medieval world equivalent. She probably just stays covered--or burns, and peels for a week straight. It's not Natasha's idea of a good time. She could probably share her knowledge. Reaching down towards the sand beside her, Natasha picks up a small jar and holds it up to Aveline.]

It's a cream that helps protect your skin. Keeps you from getting sunburn, or helps, anyway. The better it is, the less color your skin gets, too. Looks like you could use some.

[It's a sad day for a man with macho pretensions when a woman with a slight sunburn in a red swimming suit and a flowery sarong looks way, way tougher than he does. Him, in all his sunburnt glory (try Polish genes for a change!), in his bermuda shorts, huddling miserably in a cave.]

[Oh. Great. Not that this is the worst person to be caught in a cave with, but honestly Aveline's still a bit embarrassed about their last meeting. That's not... his fault. Still, she finds it hard to meet his eyes.]

With any luck, it should pass quickly.

[Pearl jumps a bit at the sudden stranger bursting into the cave, and then jumps again when thunder booms directly overhead.]

You look half drowned. [wow, you're super observant, Pearl. Geez, did the storm just start?

Though she seems to be ignoring the large white bubble floating next to her. It's got a clipboard in it, though the papers seem to be a little damp. At least it's giving off a little bit of light.]

I feel half-drowned.

[She glances over, somewhat warily, at her new cave-mate, and the floating clipboard. Right. Well. That's not a comforting thing, but she'll just go with it then, okay?]

I... didn't know this cave was... occupied.

[stickupherforehead]

[Pearl just shrugs and goes back to sitting on her rock.]

Well, it's large enough for the both of us, and then some. [seeing how she's practically a stick.

Though she's looking at you curiously. She isn't about to leave, but she's wondering if you will.]

[After a long day of eating one's fill of fresh fish and having a few nice chats with those giant whale guys, the best thing to do is always to retire to the bar for a cocktail. Or five. It may take Frobisher a few attempts to get onto the bar stool, but he still manages it with the utmost elegance he doesn't.

And hey, guess who's up here. One problem with being three feet tall, it's always a crap shoot who you're going to be next to a bar stool with. But it looks like Frobisher lucked out.]

[Cutting himself off from calling her a nickname, see even an old penguin can learn new tricks.]

Anyone bought you a drink yet tonight? You look like you could use it.

[She looks over, raises an eyebrow, and tries desperately to keep a straight face. The giant monster bird-thing wants to buy her a drink. What did she do to deserve this.]

[Deep breath.]

I could definitely use a drink.

[Hey, he'll have you know there are ladies lining up around the block to have Frobisher buy them a drink.

Just... they're all busy today.]
