[When Hange isn't in her lab, she's usually in the recreational area doing some kind of awful workout or sprinting on the treadmill. As sad and bare as their gym area is, she would go stir crazy without that way of letting out her internet, so everyone should be really glad they have a treadmill.

Even if Hange tends to hog it sometimes. Well, not now. Now she's started a round of hip dips. It smells sweaty in here and she's breathing hard. At least she's being quiet?]

[the newbie has done an exceptional job of avoiding everyone so far... until Zhas sends him a message saying to meet him in the cargo bay. which also doubles as the gym.

so, he slips in and... stops when he sees that it's already occupied.

[he retreats a step or two, quietly putting his back almost against the wall. like she's coming at him with a weapon instead of a greeting.

Easy there, kiddo. [this... This is nothing. Hange is a freak of nature in her own right. People have called her an aberrant type human and not been entirely wrong. And she works with teenagers, some of whom are sulky by nature.

[the only thing that could maybe be construed as an answer is the way he glances toward the door. it's on his blind side, so it requires him to turn his head. and he doesn't point to himself as an answer, so she's welcome to read into it if she wants.]

he drops his coat over something with his other hand, kicks his boots off.]

[She laughs... AGAIN and starts whistling cheerfully. Just gonna observe. While whistling.]

[god damn this is so uncomfortable. this is exactly why he does this alone. this is why he lives his entire life alone. this is why. he'll just peel his shirt off over his head, wad it up, and throw it at her face in frustration.

three very important points:
1) he's got a big tattoo of a celtic cross down his left side
2) his abs are perfect
2) he pulls out some rag from a pocket in his coat and quickly smears makeup off his face--something he does while carefully not making eye contact with Hange.]

She's not shy or subtle about her stare either, but she doesn't say anything.]
