[Steven has some very mixed feelings about waking up in outer space. On one hand, it's space! He's so excited to be in outer space!

But that is dampened a bit by the conflicting feeling. The last time he was being taken to space, he was being captured and it was a Very Bad Thing.

The tiny child paces around uncertainly, trying to look for any sign of friend or foe. At least he doesn't seem to be in a prison cell this time. Maybe this isn't so bad?

When he finds the video feed, he'll prod at it uncertainly, while trying to be brave.]

Hey! Is anyone there?

Um... This is a nice spaceship! I really like it, and I always wanted to go on a space adventure. But I have important things going on back home, so it would be nice to save the space vacation for later!

[Then he frets a little more and looks around uncertainly.]

Un-unless I'm here 'cuz you're one of the guys that wants to do bad things on Earth. If that's it, then... Can we please just talk?

[ whoah, it's steven! he's back. a little guiltily, jade realizes that she hadn't known he'd left in the first place.

Hi, Steven. My name's Jade. Welcome to the fleet.

[Super rude tbh. ...Not that Steven would be bothered at all if he knew.

As it is, the name makes him curious. Isn't Jade a type of rock... Maybe she's a gem! And she's friendly! Maybe there are more nice Gemss out there that Pearl and the others just didn't know about.

Regardless of what she is, Steven is determined to make a good first impression.]

[He stops for a moment, squinting uncertainly. Did she just call him by his name already...

After a brief pause, he uncertainly trails on.]

...There's a whole fleet?! Is... it a friendly kind of fleet? A party fleet!!

[He looks very relieved to see her and that she doesn't seem to be harmed. Maybe this is just a space vacation after all.]

I'm alright! See?

[He wiggles his fingers at the screen as if that is somehow an indication of his alrightness.]

I just feel... a little lost and confused but now I'm really glad to see you!

Are you alright?

[Well, he's a face he recognises. There's a ghost of a smile, until he remembers that, of course, the boy doesn't remember him. It's distinctly unpleasant, being on the other side of the coin for a change. ]

Welcome back, Steven. It seems you have a lot to have explained to you.

Liiiike how everyone here knows my name? [He asks very sheepishly. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it - just curious.]

I'm fine; we've only been kidnapped by some powerful being or beings who have a predilection for television shows.

[Pearl, please.] And no, I haven't seen any other Gems here, Homeworld or otherwise.

[He gives a relieved sigh.]

That's a relief. I worried for a moment that - that they got us.

[With the possibility of Homeworld Gems out of the question and Pearl seeming being safe, Steven unwinds a bit and tries to think over what she's said so far.]

So we're stuck here because of some powerful beings. And... they like tv? [At least he's guessing that's what 'predilection' means.]

What's their opinion on Crying Breakfast Friends? [He doesn't want to miss his show.]

[ Okay so she doesn't really have anything helpful to add, but you look friendly and she would like to ask this question to SOMEONE.... ]

I...don't know if they are even aware of the existence of Crying Breakfast Friends. [i.e. the weirdest cartoon in the world] But Steven, we don't get to watch television, we're on it.

[for better or for worse. Probably worse.]

Earth's a planet! It's where all my favorite people and things are, like my dad! Well, except for Pearl - she's stuck up here in space with me! But don't worry about us, we're gonna be okay!

...I'm sorry, but your voice doesn't sound very familiar...

On tv?! [He looks around, as if expecting to see a camera crew around.]

So it's like... we're the Crying Breakfast Friends?! Does that mean everyone at home could be watching us?

[He hopes he doesn't look too bad if Connie's watching!]

Well, I haven't seen very much crying yet, but yes. That's about the gist of it.

And I truly doubt it. They seemed to be geared towards another type of audience.

Sooo we were kidnapped for a space tv show. That's weirder than usual!

And it's a different kind of audience... a space audience?

[Being watched by aliens kind of sounds less embarrassing?]

Right. They want us to entertain these people, but all they've given us are platitudes. The small ships aren't very impressive either.

I see. My father is on a planet called Hydaelyn, but I have not seen him in many years.

[ Nodding; she likes this little boy. He seems confident. ]

There are many nice people here, I am sure you will be fine. I am Margie.

They're not? That stinks... [He says as if just trying to agree with her viewpoint. He's confused because aren't spaceships impressive just by default? Either way, he wants to keep her from getting very unhappy.]

But hey, look at the bright side! We're in space, Pearl, just like you always wanted! Isn't that great?

Oh! I... never heard of that one. I hope you get to see him again soon! [He keeps on barreling on in an upbeat manner.]

It's nice to meet you, Margie! My name's Steven.

Have you been... um... in space, a lot?

[otherwise, she probably would've tried to make her escape]

Well, yes. That's true. [wait, is that a trick question] Sort of.

We still have Peridot to take care of. [and somebody might be worried about Garnet and Amethyst]

[ He's more annoyed Steven's memory has been taken, tbh. ]

That's all right. I'm Jim. You used to be here, before, you don't remember anything?

Hi Jim, nice to meet you! [He waves, not really thinking of the fact that he can't be seen while the video's off. Then he goes on a little hesitantly, his tone deflating a bit.]

No... I'm really sorry. I've almost been in space a few times, but never like this. I bet we must have been really cool awesome buds... so I'm extra really sorry.

[ rapunzel brims with welcoming enthusiasm on the video feed. ]

I dooooon't think they want to do anything bad on Earth! [ she actually doesn't know this for sure, but in her (admittedly) short time here, the atroma people hadn't done anything rapunzel would call 'bad'!

...you know, besides the massive kidnapping. DETAILS. ]

But they don't let you go home just by asking, I'm afraid. Sooo...space adventure? [ just embrace it. ]
