[Steven has some very mixed feelings about waking up in outer space. On one hand, it's space! He's so excited to be in outer space!

But that is dampened a bit by the conflicting feeling. The last time he was being taken to space, he was being captured and it was a Very Bad Thing.

The tiny child paces around uncertainly, trying to look for any sign of friend or foe. At least he doesn't seem to be in a prison cell this time. Maybe this isn't so bad?

When he finds the video feed, he'll prod at it uncertainly, while trying to be brave.]

Hey! Is anyone there?

Um... This is a nice spaceship! I really like it, and I always wanted to go on a space adventure. But I have important things going on back home, so it would be nice to save the space vacation for later!

[Then he frets a little more and looks around uncertainly.]

Un-unless I'm here 'cuz you're one of the guys that wants to do bad things on Earth. If that's it, then... Can we please just talk?

As it is, the name makes him curious. Isn't Jade a type of rock... Maybe she's a gem! And she's friendly! Maybe there are more nice Gemss out there that Pearl and the others just didn't know about.

[He stops for a moment, squinting uncertainly. Did she just call him by his name already...

After a brief pause, he uncertainly trails on.]

[ it doesn't occur to her that maybe she's slipped by using his name. instead, she just giggles a little bit at the way the surprise makes him drag it out. ]

[He looks very relieved to see her and that she doesn't seem to be harmed. Maybe this is just a space vacation after all.]

[He wiggles his fingers at the screen as if that is somehow an indication of his alrightness.]

I just feel... a little lost and confused but now I'm really glad to see you!

I'm fine; we've only been kidnapped by some powerful being or beings who have a predilection for television shows.

[Pearl, please.] And no, I haven't seen any other Gems here, Homeworld or otherwise.

Earth's a planet! It's where all my favorite people and things are, like my dad! Well, except for Pearl - she's stuck up here in space with me! But don't worry about us, we're gonna be okay!

I see. My father is on a planet called Hydaelyn, but I have not seen him in many years.

[ Nodding; she likes this little boy. He seems confident. ]
