When We're Rollin Through the Wild Wild West

[How's your ship doing, pardners? Is it still pretty damaged? Is it glitching out hardcore? Well, there is one place to land to take care of all that, and that's on a dusty old moon in front of a planet that no one wants to go to. On this moon, you'll find a civilization that looks a lot like one's stepped into a wild west movie, hardened cowpolk and mutant horses and all. Will you become a vigilante, hunting bounties and stopping gangs from doing their dirty work? Will you go exploring planetside, with a cowboy hat and a stalk of wheat in your mouth to complete the look? Good luck with that; there is no wheat. This town ain't big enough for all you flooters, but make it so! For the ratings!

Thank you. You look...

[Yep. Sure is noticing the double hat. He laughs a little in surprise]

Are you...wearing two hats?

Yeah. So? [He gives a big smile as he puts his hands on his hips and tilts his head up, and he... tries his best to mimic that southern country accent, but kind of hams it up a bit too much.] I'm lookin' pretty good if I say so m'self, pahdner.

[That was an incredibly hammy accent, but it's enough to make Allen laugh again. Ridiculous] Oh yes. You blend right in, cowboy.

That's what I like to hear!

[He says it loud and proud as he tips his hat - hats - up, looking all too pleased with himself. But with that over with, he drops the terrible accent, then leans in - while tipping his head to the side so as not to whack Allen with the brim - to give him a firm hug. He's really glad to see that he's okay.]

You're okay? Your ship's fine?

[Timcanpy moves off Allen's shoulder to steer clear of that hat brim and hovers silently nearby. Allen meanwhile returns the firm hug, feeling a surprising amount of relief.]

Yeah, I am. The ship needs repair, but we made it here in one piece.

[He doesn't let go, but he'll pull enough away to try to get a good look at Clay, to make sure he's not hurt]

What about you? Is your crew and ship alright?

[Clay keeps himself close, though he does at least pull back enough to get a good look at him as well, which means sliding his hands from where they are to the spots between Allen's neck and shoulders instead. It's just two guys practically cuddling in the market, it's all still casual, aw yes]

Yeah, we're all fine. Got some bumps, bruises and lots of sore places, but nothing serious. [And thankfully, his own bruises are hidden under his clothes.] Our ship took a beating, and our shields are kind of a wreck, but it's still holding together. We're going to try to repair it as soon as we get our bearings here. [Though Pearl's probably already working on it.]

[Oh yeah. It's totally not gay unless there's frenching. If they're getting any stares, well, Allen really doesn't care because...Allen does whatever the hell he wants anyway. Deal with it.]

If you need any help with repairs, just let me know. I know at least two engineers who like offering their services to other ships. [He can't see any of the bruises that are under Clay's clothing, so he eventually seems satisfied and stops looking him over. Okay, good. Still in one piece.] I'm glad you're okay.

[Clay's got zero shame anyway, so... yeah, deal with it, onlookers.]

Noted. And I'm glad you're okay, too.

[And... well, screw it, he feels like doing it. He tips his hats back until they falls off his head, though the cowboy hat catches around his neck at the drawstring while the visor stays around the bucket of it, then leans in to kiss Allen, both hands sliding down to his chest. They're both okay, he's so relieved to see that he's fine, and. Well. Kissing him is nice.]

[He returns the kiss, a hand reaching up to rest on Clay's cheek. He feels happy, relieved to be here with Clay instead of talking over the communicator. And yeah, kissing him was nice.]

[When the kiss does finally break, he'll chuckle a little and tease very softly.] Yippie ki-yay, Cowboy.

[He smiles at him] Do you have to be anywhere? I was thinking of exploring the rest of town.

[....... oh god, that makes him snicker, then press his forehead to Allen's shoulder as he laughs - of all the people to say that - ]

Moon and stars - uh, I mean. [Let's get better control of ourselves here. He pulls his head back up when his laughter dies down, then tries for that awful accent again.] No sir, ain't got anywhere to be. ... Or is it ain't got nowhere to be.

[Yeah, it probably sounded extra ridiculous in his accent. But he'll laugh with Clay, finally breaking out of that hug. He'll reach his arm around Clay so he can put Clay's hats back on his head]

You're asking me which it is? You know I'm definitely not a cowboy, right? [What with his lack of hat and oh yeah- TOO BRITISH]

[Yes good, cover up the hat hair. Clay steps back to readjust them to a more comfortable fit, chuckling at Allen's remark.]

You look close enough to one here, even without the hat! Better than me, I probably stick out like the brightest star in the sky.

Well, you did catch my eye.

[he'll wait for him to finish adjusting his hat, before gesturing to start walking]

I've been to a lot of places like this, so I'm just used to knowing how to look and act.

[... He smiles and ducks his head at that, a light blush on his cheeks. "You did catch my eye", wow Allen, you charmer. He follows though, seeing how Allen's the one who wants to explore. (knowing Clay, though, he'll likely want to drag him off somewhere before this is over.)]

Yeah? You traveled a lot?

[Charming is what he does. And he doesn't have any particular in mind to where he's going since hey, like he said- he wants to see what this place has]

Most of my life! Paradisa was the longest I stayed anywhere- and even then we visited a lot of places. [he shrugs] Traveling through space is new though.

[He's a tiny bit jealous; Clay's always wondered what other places on Earth looked like up close and personal. But the desire to go to those places was dwarfed compared to his longing to go to space, so he's not too torn up about the thought of missing an opportunity. He's mostly fascinated.]

So what was your favorite place to visit? [He raises his eyebrows and leans over with a grin.] Was it LA? [EYEBROW WAGGLE.]

[He gives a little laugh at that eyebrow waggle. He's used to people asking this question, but not being that obvious with rooting for their hometown]

It's too hard to pick a favourite- but LA's up there! [He's even sincere about that! Good food, friendly people, beautiful weather- could do with less pollution though. But he'll list off another place since he knows that's what people like hearing about] I also really liked visiting Ino's village- they got these giant cliffs where they carve their leaders' faces into the rock! Not to mention the best ramen shop in all the worlds.

Oh, wow, you went to Ino's village? She's a... ninja, right? [That's right, she teased him about some powers that he could learn, IF ONLY HE WAS A NINJA like her. Gosh.]

Yeah, she is. Nearly everyone in her village is. [...I'm not sure anyone needs you walking up walls Clay]

[Everyone needs Clay walking up walls.] I didn't know they had villages of ninjas, wow... That does sound really cool.

Back in my world, we've got a mountain in another state that has four of our presidents' faces in it. Their whole origin is kind of controversial, but I guess they look pretty cool. It's mostly a tourist attraction now.

Mm! It's a whole hidden village. They all train their chakra to do abilities in school, and then each clan has their own secret specialty that only they can do.

Eh? You guys actually carved your presidents' head into a mountain too? [HUH...] I've never been to that part of America. Have you ever seen it?

Chakra, huh? That's apparently the thing I couldn't do. [MAN. HE WANTED TO LEARN.]

I've seen pictures, but I haven't actually been there myself. It's... cool? [HE GUESSES... he just doesn't really like all the controversy it's steeped in.] It's in South Dakota, and I've only ever been in California. I've been so busy that I've never really thought about going anywhere else other than space, I guess.

You can't use chakra? [Weird. Sure, Allen doesn't use it, but that's mostly a combination of his terrible meditation skills and his own powers making it harder]

I see. [CAN'T BLAME YOU THERE CLAY] It's hard to imagine for me only being in one place. Is the fleet a bit strange for you- moving place to place all the time?

Well, I'm not a ninja, so I can't learn how to. [OR SO HE WAS TOLD.] What, can you? [BUT ALLEN'S NOT A NINJA... IS HE...?]

Now that you mention it? Yeah, kind of. I mean, I wouldn't trade this kind of opportunity for anything else in the universe, but it is kind of weird, moving to all these different locations all the time. I'm used to seeing a lot of the same thing every day, so this whole experience is really different.

[He laughs] If I wanted to give up the free time I have between my jobs, being a first mate, learning medicine, and keeping my own abilities sharp - I could, yes. [No thanks, even he's not as bad as Hiro] Most humans can use chakra if they learn, actually - mastering it is how you become a ninja. Sometimes Ino will even impress people by teaching them how to walk on ceilings.

[Nothing like having to clean fricking boot marks off the ceiling of their old house, lemme tell you]

Yeah...I could see how that'd be a problem. But- at least you're in the same ship right? Maybe you can hang pictures that you'd see every day.
