[Someone is outside the Bloodsport's landing area (with other ships around too, actually)... slowly and with an expression of deep concentration, rolling up a snowball to start making a snowman.
There are some other snowmen around too, but most of them are quite small. Most of them are only two hands high. And none of them have any features or arms. They're just like little snowman ghosts all standing in a snowman ghost crowd. It looks like this one, which Rin is preparing with silent sloe-eyed concentration, will be the biggest yet.]
option 2
[A planet is a great time to explore and Rin kind of loves to quietly roam and sightsee. This time, sightseeing has offered her the sight of... some stray Arctic foxes. She brought some chicken-flavored protein to try and coax them to her, so she can be found crouched in front of the snow-filled alley, bare hand outstretched to offer a pinched-off chunk of protein.]
C'mere... c'mere... [it's almost a bare whisper, and actually, it's working a little... the foxes are exposed to enough people that one of them approaches when Rin gives up on handfeeding them and sets the protein chunk down on the snow.
Their pickings must be a little shitty if they're scrounging protein blocks, but food is food, right?]
option 3
[A frozen river flows through town. Someone found it and then realized she had enough money to rent ice skates.
Now she's trying her luck on the river ice. >:T Very intently! But she's kind of shitty at it. It keeps looking like she gets it and then she slips out of control and goes plunging into the snowbanks on the side of the river. But it makes her laugh then, sudden and bright even if quickly stifled, under the grey sky. She's pink-faced and rosy and has strands of hair escaping in every direction, and no hat, but she seems cheerful.]
option 1
that skull-faced guy from weeks earlier seems to have bumped into one of her little featureless snowmen. it's kind of half-decapitated. he's looking around at all the little snow-ghosts in confusion, either not aware or not acknowledging that Rin is right there too.
while he has a full face of skull makeup, he also has a dumb grey scarf wrapped very loosely around the lower half of his face... no sweater, though.]

Then she casually straightens up and moseys back towards the Bloodsport. Nothing to see here.]

You'll make your ship pretty obvious.

After a moment she turns and faces him anyway.]
Don't be a creep.

it's too late for that.]

but this teenage-looking person can only whisper, and her aura is pretty comforting to animals anyway--so they don't stay spooked for long.]
Oh my god, are those foxes...?
no subject
While the fox is eating, she twists to see who approached her. Ah, another girl...]
They sure are. It seems they're pretty tame, too... they're pretty cute, right?
no subject
[she shrinks down a little--shrugging into her own bony shoulders.]
Have you been feeding them?
no subject
They're not that shy... I guess they live too close to people for that.
no subject
[she crouches down, still a little ways behind Rin... because she wants to watch.]
no subject
I guess... so? Most of the deer I've met are skittish...
[The fox snaps up the last bit and starts to sidle off. Rin waits a moment longer and then levers herself to her feet with a little grunt.]
I wonder if some people trap them.
no subject
[she watches Rin stand, but stays crouched.]
Um... Trap them for furs, and stuff?
option 1!
he gasps a little, taking a step back. ...and then another step back. looking kind of spooked by the little icy army.
he probably doesn't notice anything but the snowfolk at the moment.]
no subject
They're just made of snow, Nel!
no subject
...Where did they come from??
no subject
They were just here when I got here.
[SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY ROLLING A SNOWBALL.]
I think this snow might be... alive.
no subject
[he doesn't spend the time to be suspicious. he's immediately looking down at his feet, taking a step or two backward and picking up one foot since he lacks the ability to pick them both up at the same time and hover.
maybe he trusts her too much to doubt her. ...maybe he's just really gullible.]
no subject
[She leaves off the snow she was... obviously wadding up, Nel, please... and stalks towards him, holding her hands out and wiggling her fingers. OoooOOOOooooooooh.]
I heard somebody saying... if you go out in the woods... and you listen very quietly... you can hear the snow whispering.
no subject
...Are you serious??
no subject
But... but... but...]
I'm serious! Absolutely!
I hear it says... Neeeeel... come make snowmen with us...

He sees the girl-- possibly a native, possibly not-- cooing to the foxes, and stops quite a few feet from her. A large grey-skinned man, you'd think he'd stand out-- but somehow not even the foxes notice him, as his presence fades into the background. He watches her for a long while, watching her progress, before taking a deliberately loud step forward.
The foxes simply stare up at him, unimpressed. It takes far more than that to startle them.]
Do they have a name, do you know?
