Gumball Wishes and Taxicab Dreams
[On today's episode of the Drift Fleet:
The cargo holds are full of mysterious crates! The crews are filling beyond capacity with new faces! Official alerts are informing the passengers that they are signed to contracts that they've never agreed to! They are docking at the dazzling FS Starlight, but are flat broke!
What are they going to do!? Stay tuned to find out!
...Meaning, this is a kickoff mingle for you all to enjoy the beginning of the latest plot setting. This is a convenient place to start threads relating to the first week of the event-- meeting new crewmembers, reacting to the mysterious cargo, arriving on the station and discovering that you're all broke, etc.

Uranus meets Neptune's eyes, and if she doesn't see a warning there, she'll break her transformation. (Rose petals swirl out of the alley, swept away in the bustle of the street next to them). ]

The weather is simply lovely. [not even a failed attempt at gathering intelligence can stop her from teasing you, apparently]

Still, Haruka laughs - it was a dumb comment, huh. She squeezes that hand. ] Coffee or tea?
[ Or some beverage they've never tried yet? Come on. If they're going to have a highly-charged yet cryptic discussion about what they (didn't) learn, they need tiny classy cups of something hot. Obviously.
...sure, they could go back to the Bishop, but Haruka's trying to limit her hours onboard until the gumballs are gone. Just in case. ]

It looks like she's only got eyes for you; she doesn't even turn when harried looking security guards run right past them.]

[ Just you wait. She's not so hyper-focused that she fails to notice things like classy places to get caffeine in addition to security weakpoints while wandering the streets. This is the walk of a woman who knows she's got this. ]

Her steps slow in front of a tiny, thin building tucked between two larger restaurants - the sort of place it's easy to walk past. Heading for the door, she holds it for Michiru. ] We seat ourselves, here.
[ All of the walls of this café, on the inside, are glass. Because they are all an aquarium.

You're getting sneakier. [that's a compliment, if anything.] It's beautiful in here.

She smiles and looks down at Michiru. Michiru, surrounded by the ocean. ] I agree.
[ It doesn't look too crowded, either. They should be able to regroup. ]

A smile in return, and then she's pulling them towards an empty table in the middle of the cafe, right next to the glass.]

Casually, as she peruses it: ] Did you learn anything?
[ Nothing jumped out at her from what little they'd accessed except that they're at a technological disadvantage - they hadn't even gotten to the actual files. But that's nothing new. ]

I expected a bit more, actually.
[granted, they were pretty quick in mustering up their forces, but she didn't see anything that could've conceivably stopped Atroma.]

[ Does that mean they're only playing at not knowing what to do about being "over capacity", too? ]

Or perhaps it isn't really as big of an inconvenience as it would seem to be.
[they still have to wait around for the other ship to take the gumballs, after all.]

[ Testing them to see what they'd do if stuck someplace without access to their usual funds? Though given the tradeoff of goods they can obtain if they're savvy enough, that doesn't seem right.
She joins Michiru in fish contemplation. ] Maybe we shouldn't try again.
[ Security will be prepared this time. And if they aren't that formidable, then they don't have anything on Atroma, and it's all pointless. ]

We'll follow more worthwhile pursuits for the moment.
[they probably won't learn much, but it's something to reconsider if other leads don't pan out.
...and short of rustling up an Ami, maybe they should do something about this technology thing.]

[ After breaking into security in a miniskirt. And after ending up inadvertently the face of that shampoo campaign.

That has her thinking back, though, and she puts down her menu to stare at her right hand, flexing her fingers lightly. World Shaking had worked. So had her sword.
Where to even begin with that, though? But perhaps that should wait until this robot asks them what they want to drink... ] Ah--
and thus fulfilling the dreams of the rhyhorn line everywhere...

[whatever it is, it's hot, comes in a fancy cup, and is probably delicious.]

[more testing is on the horizon. Technically, they worked the first time on the Marsiva, even if no damage was done.]

[ A nod. ] It feels like they're changing the rules on us lately.
[ The ships have been docked for a long time, they're "at capacity", Atroma seems fallible...and then their powers worked completely normally. So testing it is. ]
