Chess is fine. [ Been a while, but that rarely matters for her. If she sets out to do something, she does it. Simple as that.

She'll take a seat at one of the chessboards, picking the black pieces. White has the advantage in going first, yes, but she likes being able to size up an opponent.

Besides, she defaults to assuming that against her, everyone needs a handicap. This is thoughtfulness.

He arranges the white when she picks black, surprised by her choice given white's advantage, but it's intriguing too. Only someone confident would do that, or someone who didn't understand the game. But he suspected it was the former.

A few times. [ Haruka's opening move is a pawn, too, on a different area of the board. Honestly, the person she's played against the most is better at this game than she is, but she hears that tends to improve one's skills. So they'll see. ]
