[Isaac takes a step back and Davesprite takes a step forward. He then proceeds to nudge the pickle Isaac's way with one foot.]

I think it likes you. It wants to thank you for giving it reason to spontaneously generate in that pickle jar. Look, it's leaving a slime trail and everything. That's how fucking excited it is to see you.

Oh dude don't get that stuff on your foot.

[ God, whatever it is, is freaking gross. It doesn't help that Davesprite describes it like it's a live creature attracted to Isaac, either. ]

I didn't create that thing, okay. Remember the pizza shop? Right. I'm not excited to see it, I just came to hang out with you and eat normal food not -- how does something even look like that?

[ He kicks it back toward Davesprite. Officially. Grossed. Out. ]

[Davesprite makes a revolted noise when the pickle splats against his shin. There's something disgusting to the way it feels when it hits his leg, moist and with too much give to the skin. More people turn to stare.]

What the fuck, dude. You fucking sprayed me with pickle juice.

[Oh my god. He kicks it Isaac's way again, disgruntled, and backs away. He slurps at the drink he obtained before this incredibly rude shit went down.]

I'm gonna smell like I bathed in vinegar for the rest of the night. Goddammit.

You're the one that put a maggot pickle on my plate, so it's only payback.

[ Well he should feel bad that people are staring, but he doesn't. In fact, he chooses to ignore that people give them looks at all. Either way he uses his plate and another to scoop the weird pickle back up and set it on the table, covered. ]

Better than smelling like this weird moon atmosphere or whatever. This place reeks, though. Too many people. [ Werewolf senses really suck, even through the respirator. ]

Aren't you supposed to be dancing or something?

Told you, I don't dance.

[He rolls his eyes, before he glances back at the people staring. He doesn't feel bad about their mini clusterfuck, per se, but he's definitely self-conscious.]

Oh my god, are you really putting it back on the table. You could at least throw the werepickle in the trash.

But you could if you wanted to.

[ He shrugs a little -- he enjoys dancing sometimes, but looking out at the half alien crowd, he'll abstain. He's not sure he wants to be any closer to all of that than he already is. ]

It's a werepickle now? Okay, fine. [ He dumps the plate and pickle both in a trash bin. ] Still pretty gross. I can't believe some of the stuff on this moon. [ So he opts for a pickle that does look normal, and pops it in his mouth, talking around his food. ]

They taste good, though. You hungry?

[He just shrugs a little. The truth is Davesprite doesn't know how to dance. Could he learn? Sure. Has he learned? lol, no.]

No, I was skulking around the snack table for shits and giggles. I'm laughing as we speak. Haa, haha, haa ha, haa haa. Hear that? Hilarious.

[He delivers that utterly deadpan.]

Anyway, they've got punch down there. [He makes a vague waving motion with his free hand.] It's. Interesting.

Well I don't know, you've done weirder things.

[ Isaac gives Davesprite a look, especially with how deadpan his friend is. ] I think I'll pass on the punch. You saw something moving in it, didn't you?

[ He goes for another pickle, grimacing at how bitter this one is. ] Looks like you're having a blast. You seemed pretty bored earlier.

[ Or freaked out, but sure, whatever. Isaac feels tired -- like he could go and sleep for another day, but that's beside the point. ]

Could have been a trick of the light. There are a couple different ones, though. This is from the worm-free bowl.

[He holds up his drink, before he goes back to wandering down the table. Mostly just looking, which is weird for him, but it isn't like he legitimately gets hungry anymore.]

And I'm still bored. I'm just trying not to infringe on anyone's fun quota, alright.

[This is why Jade is currently MIA. So she can have her fun quota without an awkward, anxious ghostbird along.]

Wow, good to know I'm boring.

[ Isaac shifts down the table to check out the worm-free punch and pours himself a glass. ] I just didn't know someone could text that much. Do you still have thumbs, because that must have taken some time.

[ He sips at the weird punch, not really liking the odd flavor but it's better than nothing. ] As long as you don't start rapping, the fun quota is probably fine. Though this place is pretty weird.

You have zero fucking room to diss my rhymes. Maybe once I hear you drop a phat beat, aka original material, you can rent one to criticize.

[Hope Isaac got a satisfactory plate of food, because Davesprite decides he's had enough of the snack table. Off he goes, in the least crowded direction possible.]

I probably would have left already if Jade weren't still here.

[ Isaac almost doesn't catch Davesprite's movement, which is annoying. His senses are on a little bit of overload and the fact that he can't keep his friend at the periphery of those is troublesome. So he's a few steps behind him, plate half-full. ]

That's cool of you to stay for her, though. Where're you going? Is there an outside? Maybe there aren't as many people out there.

[ He doesn't even know that's what Dave is thinking, but his skin is crawling a little as they move through some people, and he'd like to get to some open air. ]

There's a balcony, but you gotta bust out your gas mask.

[He makes a slight face.]

So you're probably right about there not being a lot of people out there. Oh, and there's an indoor garden thing. I guess that's half outside.

I am tired of wearing a gas mask.

[ It's more whiny than anything, because he is tired of it, more than anything. But if that's where his friend wants to go, he'll suffer through it again. ]

But whatever, we can always try the indoor thing first. But if I see anyone trying to dance with flowers I'm just gonna go outside. Maybe without my mask on, because I give up on this space stuff.

[Davesprite isn't any more interested in wearing a gas mask than Isaac, so he heads towards the green museum. (The truth is he didn't really have an idea of where he was going in the first place.)]

Oh yeah, that sounds like a great idea. [His intonation is basically a verbal eye roll.] I still can't believe your stomach made you decide to come down here. Talk about a warped set of priorities.

[He yanks open the door to the museum, propping it open behind him for Isaac.]

It was either sit and be hungry and try to read your text tidal wave, or just come down here to eat and talk to you myself. So.

[ He shrugs, walking behind him into the museum, using his elbow to keep the door propped until he's inside. ] Whoa. I mean, the ship was pretty quiet, too. Like, pin-drop quiet. Figured some change of scenery might be good. For you, too. Those messages were weird, man.

[ He was getting too antsy, and what better excuse to move than to check on his friend. ]

They were?

[Davesprite doesn't...actually remember what he said anymore. Just that there were a lot of words, but that's normal for him. Right?]

Uh, sorry. I think Jade got sick of me fucking around on my communicator instead of having fun, and you just start to think a lot when you're by yourself. Or. Something. I dunno.

It was a lot, and I don't read that fast. I almost failed English once.

[ He shrugs, looking around the room. This place is so odd, and for once he's looking forward to being back on the ship and away from a planet or moon for a while. ]

But yeah, it's cool, I get it. I wasn't saying it was bad. Just that I was kind of feeling the same way. [ He absently offers his plate out to Davesprite, he has a variety of foods on there. He talks with his mouth half-full. ] Did Jade think you were actually gonna dance or something?

[A party representative pleasantly tells them to watch their feet, Davesprite checks for any wayward bugs, and Isaac has to suffer him wearing sunglasses in a dimly lit space.]

I don't know. [Technically, Jade could have convinced him; it's not exactly hard. But WHO KNOWS, Davesprite filches a couple fruit slices off the plate instead. They taste like apples.] I think she just wanted company. We played pinball for a while.

[ Isaac doesn't bother to check for bugs. Honestly, he's likely already stepped on one at this rate. He is hardly bothered. ]

They have pinball here? Why couldn't they have that out in the streets instead of weird games and fist fights? Come on. [ He tries one of the fruits, grimacing at its bitter taste. It's like a gross between a lemon and a grape. It's not good. ] At least the food is edible and dead. Mostly.

[ Awkward parties were always better if there was free food involved. ] I think most people from our ship are here. Pretty sure half of them don't actually live there, but that could just be that I'm sleeping too much.

[Isaac, you are gonna get them in trouble.]

You're always sleeping too much. [It's critical.] I dunno, though. It's pretty crowded. Easy to miss people.

[He follows one path of lights, looking through the trees at the metal bars.]

But for real. You smashed the blender?

[ He's trying to watch for the bugs, too, but his mind is going a lot of places. Sensory overload is hard, okay. ]

Yeah, well, this place makes me tired, alright?

[ It almost gives the illusion that they're outside in clean air, but the bars, and the weird humming of filtration systems and things he can hear minutely under the crowd really doesn't help. ] I didn't mean to. [ He actually colors a little, mildly embarrassed. ] I couldn't get the lid on. I started it without the lid at first and I just -- yeah well I pushed a little too hard. Sort of.

"Sort of."

[He looks over at Isaac. Both of his eyebrows have arched way over the top of his sunglasses.]

So what I'm getting out of this is you got pissed and made the kitchen appliance pay. I dunno if I should take your claims of feeling fine and dandy to heart.

That gel got everywhere, okay? It was really annoying. I just moved too quickly.

[ And he doesn't really have control over himself sometimes. Like when he's mad and might be slamming the lid onto the blender. No big deal. ]

I'm feeling fine, okay? [ But even he doesn't sound confident. ] I have real food now anyway. So it's fine.

[Oh yeah, Davesprite hears that lack of confidence.]

The room could be burning down around your ears and you'd say it's fine. You're a biased source.
