He chuckles softly. "Hm, I can imagine so. But there - I suppose you could say, their control is much finer, mine more instinctive. I cannot change what you see, but I can convince you that what you see is unimportant and forgettable."

"Oh yeah. I used to could do something like that but Atroma took that power away from me." She pauses. "I was mad at first but now I think maybe it's better this way."

"I am sorry." He murmurs softly in concern. "I did not realise... they could alter you in such a way."

"Aww, it's okay. I got my healin' and that's the most important thing anyway."

"You are a healer? That is a precious gift indeed!"

She ducks her head and smiles. "Well, I still got a lot to learn. I'm not as good as Miss Cordelia - she was my teacher, back home."

"Even so!" He hums. "To heal is a great and noble task, and a taxing one, on both body and mind."

"Oh, it's not so drainin'. I like helping people. It's what I'm meant to do."

"I am glad you have found the work that brings you joy. It makes a heart glad and it's burden light to have such things."

[mistyday]

She smiles. "Ain't that the truth? Is music your callin' then, or do you do somethin' else?"

[bythewaves]

"Music has always been my first love." Maglor agrees. "Although for a time I had little time for it. These days, I have returned to where my heart lies."

[mistyday]

"That's important, to follow your heart. I'm glad you could."

[bythewaves]

"Would that we could always be so fortunate." He murmurs softly. "But circumstances are not always favourable. But you are content here?"

[mistyday]

"Oh yeah, this is way better than home. For me at least, though I know it ain't so for everyone."

[bythewaves]

"That sentiment I also can understand." He nods quietly. "Unlike many, I have little to return to."

[mistyday]

"No family or anything?"

[bythewaves]

"No." He shakes his head. "You?"

[mistyday]

"No, not that I ever wanna see again anyway."

[bythewaves]

"That is a sad thing, my condolonces."

[mistyday]

Misty shrugs. "It sucks, but then when your own family turns on you... well they ain't really family anymore."

Maglor shakes his head, eyes sad.

"That is still a terrible thing, for family to turn against their own."

[mistyday]

"Yeah, well... people ain't so hot on magic where I come from."

[bythewaves]

Impulsively he reaches across to lay a hand on hers in solidarity (she might feel the scars).

"I am still sorry - family should be better than that."

[mistyday]

Misty's surprised by the touch but she doesn't pull away, only stares at his hand for a moment.

"Thank you." For the sentiment and for reaching out. It's... nice.

Gently, she turns his hand over, palm up, to examine his scars. "I can fix these you know, if you want." She's kind of an expert on burns now.

The scars are old - criss-cross ropey contractures that look as if they have been repeatedly split (they have), and in the center of his right, the lines run almost straight, as if a facet of a great gem once pressed there.

He allows her the examination - indeed, he does not seem to feel much, with his right, although you'd never know from seeing him use his hands.

"It is kind of you to offer, milady - but I fear these wounds will never heal."
