When he isn't fretting over a possible invasion and confrontation, he can be found at the bridge, trying to learn more and more about the systems of the ship and maybe forlornly staring out into space every once in a while.]

Have you been summoned by Captain The Vision
[Full titles all the time.]
no subject
[She cocks an eyebrow, amused.]
No, I just wanted to come look out the windows.
no subject
[Alright, the fact that she blatantly doesn't care about the consequences of touching the captain's things is a bit amusing. But he can understand her interest in the outside; frankly, he misses it.]
It is much grander up close, outside the windows.
no subject
[Her eyes get real big with excitement and wonder.]
That's so cool! What's it like?
no subject
[Is that the correct turn of phrase? But he could care less, because it's far more worth his time to reminisce.]
It is...difficult to describe. At least in human terms. Everything is still, but not at all quiet. Cosmic background radiation is quite hilarious, after all. The math of everything provides wonderful entertainment as well. And the Void...
[He pauses for a moment.]
The Void is difficult to describe. Humbling, perhaps.
no subject
And as for that last part, well...]
I think I know what that's like, a little. Something so overwhelming and so much bigger than you are, than you could ever be... it's scary but it's beautiful too.
no subject
Yes. Many terrible things happened there, but many wonderful as well. It is simply a phenomenon that is more than we could ever count ourselves as. There is beauty in that.
no subject
Hey, Ordis? I wanna apologize, for gettin' so mad at you the other day. I said some mean things and I shouldn't have.
no subject
[No one...apologizes to him. This is a very new concept and it throws him for a loop for a moment, leaving him staring blankly over before he can recover.]
...Ordis has been informed that he was behaving...poorly, as it has been put, as well. Please know that Ordis apologizes for any undue inconvenience.
no subject
[She points a cautionary finger at him though.]
But don't go around yellin' at Snuggles again either. If you can't find Wrath, I'll get him for you, okay? He don't mean you no harm, I promise. He's a good fox.
no subject
Ordis supposes that the creatures isn't too horrible. For an organic.

Good afternoon. I've managed to obtain another local map, although I can't say if there's any accuracy to it. Perhaps you'd like to add it to the databanks?
no subject
Of course, Captain.
[What a strange word.]
Ordis has been combing through information regarding this current system, so long as the integrity of the data is not compromised, it should not be too great a task to determine its accuracy, if the Captain wishes.
no subject
[He hands over a datachip - in addition to local coordinates for this system, it mentions several other systems nearby. It may or may not be useful, but he couldn't resist the lure of more potential knowledge about this place.]
Have you made any interesting discoveries lately? Or anything that might benefit the ship or crew?
no subject
What a question though. He pauses, furrowing his brows in thought because this is his Captain, and he can't disappoint.]
Ordis believes...Ordis feels as though there are several key areas in which efficiency could be improved in this ship's navigational functions at this time. It is...difficult to pinpoint exactly how many without direct contact. Unfortunately, Ordis is limited in that regard at this time.
no subject
It wouldn't surprise me. between the technology visible on the Marsiva and their willingness to "upgrade" aspects of these smaller ships with application of sufficient funds, I find it clear we're running well below the available technological apex.
I have a certain amount of access. [Thanks both to his natural abilities and his Engineering augment.] If you can outline what you've observed, I'd be happy to do what I can.
no subject
Ordis has noticed millisecond delays in response time from manual controls at this point. It would be...far more efficient if he could communicate directly with the systems, as opposed to relying on primitive physical toggles and switches.
no subject
It's a crime that they've stripped you of the ability to do so.
There's not yet an augment ability that would suffice, nor do the various businesses on this moon have anything like it available. It would likely require an implant to your wet matter.
no subject
[There's a note of disgust in his voice, and he purses his lips.]
It is not Ordis'. It is whatever whomever this...shell is. Ordis does not wish harm upon it, but would gladly undergo any process to fix its glaring faults.
[And oh, it's so good that there's someone that understands. It takes at least some of the stress off of his shoulders.]
no subject
[Who knows? It's not like he has a better idea why they decided to put poor Ordis in an entirely unsuitable body.]
In either case, I'll keep an eye open in the areas we visit to determine if there's anything that might be suitable for you to use.
no subject
Thank you Captain. Ordis is in your debt.
no subject
It is my pleasure, Ordis. Please remember you can ask me anything, if you feel the need.
no subject
[Is it his place to ask anything though? This is a very strange, new concept indeed.]
Ordis has...questions. If that is appropriate.
