[If anyone ever had a doubt that Tyrion Lannister likes to keep himself occupied, today would be the day that he put all doubts to rest. His fingers flick against the side of his camera as he is reaching for a book. Which is good, because he's got three open now. He frowns at one paragraph, then pushes off with his chair - with wheels, fascinating things these.

Then he was picking up a screwdriver, turning to a tank that looked a great deal like the displays at the Green Museum, twisting a brace into place, eying it, then rolling back across the floor to check on the panels for the engine. He picked up a clipboard, put down the screwdriver and exchanged it for pencil while he marked off a few things on a list, then pushed himself off to roll back to his desk, where he flipped a page on his second book, muttering quietly to himself.]

'This means that the center of mass of the arrow–where gravity acts–is further forward than the center of pressure–where aerodynamic forces act. This results in the aerodynamic forces helping to stabilize the flight of the arrow.'

[He tapped the page, then pushed off again to his work-table, where a variety of weapons were lying on the surface, and plucked up the bow.] Yes, all right, that means I just need to change the density of the string and curve the bow a little more for the right amount of pressure per inch... good, good.

[He hummed as he put the bow back down, and reached underneath for his toolbox, singing softly to himself as he went through the varying strings he had gathered for said bow.]

[Clearly, Tyrion is something of a workaholic, when he gets himself going.]

Mm, boys are complicated. [Walking around exploring other things. She picks up one of the arrows too.]

We are a complicated gender, I must say. [He pulled himself up into his stool, giving her a wry little smile.]

I guess so. [She sets the arrow back down.] Lots of archers around. I'm surprised that kind of thing holds up in actual battle anymore.

I am surprised as well -- but my friend really wanted to have her own bow back.

I guess weapons can become very familiar to you. I feel naked without the claws. Vulnerable in a way I don't approve of.

I would feel the same way if I had some sort of head injury. We all want to keep our best weapons with us.

[That gets a smile.] Speaking of head injuries, what's the story behind your scar?

This one? [He gestured to the one that stretched across one side of his face to the other, a wry little smile.] I was the commander of a force that defended King's Landing against the army of Stannis Baratheon.

[She nods as he gestures to it.] I didn't realize you commanded troops. [She also doesn't seem terribly surprised.] How's the other guy look?

Considering the lack of commanders we had at the time with any sort of strategic experience? It was me or Joffrey - and Joffrey was pissing himself in a corner. [His lips twitch.] Well he is dead. So I would imagine not so well. Sadly I did not kill him.

Mm... Killing is nothing to be proud of anyway. [At least she never has been. Kind of a shame for someone with her name.] Were you successful against Baratheon's army?

With some assistance with my father, yes, but we held them off in the duration. Otherwise, King's Landing would have been lost.

You were working together?

... No. Not precisely.

That makes more sense.

[She looks away from his projects and back at him.] I was eavesdropping on you earlier.

Mmm, I suppose it does. My father swoops in to steal all my ... well. Everything.

[Not really a problem anymore though.

One eyebrow lifts at that comment.] Oh? Which conversation?

[She hopes Tyrion never has to deal with his father here. She knows death won't matter in this place.]

With Hank. I already called him to ask why he was acting strangely. [Since the call went to private and she hasn't figured out how to hack the through secured lines here yet. Well, that and she might have chosen not to do so.]

[He certainly hopes that his father or sister or even Jaime does not show up here. His friends did not deserve to watch such bloodshed as Tyrion would bring on that day.]

Ah yes, delightful fellow. [He brightened a little, before he arched an eyebrow at her.] Do you know, I apparently look like some villain in his world. Man by the name of Trask, complete monster.

He... [She was going to hedge, but that's because of another man bearing his name and face back home and not the man they're actually discussing who is, well, delightful.] Yes, he is.

That's what he said. There's a Trask in my world too. Less hated. [But not getting any fanmail.] Looks nothing like you. Not sure how that's possible.

The worlds we live in are odd places - I am not surprised that in some other universe, Trask is a dwarf and some other sort of fellow. In some universe I am sure I am as tall and handsome as my brother. Infinite possibilities.

[He smiled a little, holding his hands out, as if to say, 'What can you do?']

Just when I think I have the "rules" figured out, I get a curve ball. I guess I should stop trying to find rules in places that have none.

And Hank's a good guy. I'm sure he'll fill the others from his world in soon so they don't accidentally murder you.

Yes this place does seem to thrive on more chaos than most ...

[He looked thoughtful.] I met one of them - or at least spoke to her. A young woman by the name of Raven who looked at me as if I was some sort of ... evil despot. Which, apparently, Trask is. I am quite glad everyone has straightened out this particularly awkward situation, so I do not get a blade through my throat.

Me too. I prefer your throat the way it is.

I only met her recently. Well, I met this version of her recently. She's the fourth Mystique, er, Raven I've known.

As do I. Intact, in one piece, not slit from ear to ear ...

[His eyebrows raise together.]

Four of them? Really? My, my, they do like to revolve them around here.
