I barely got to even meet you though.

[ Before he found out all of this, is what he means. And that's what he's having the most trouble over: not the rational arguments and reasoning that makes perfect sense and assures him he should have no reason to worry now more than before. It's the irrationality of his emotions, his fears and worries and his growing attachment to her whcih by now far outranks anything he's experienced back home.

Abe will always have a place in his heart for finding Sascha and giving him a home, but crossing the abyss his status as a vampire presented was too much for even his kind heart. And at the time there hadn't been a chance to even begin crossing the mental and emotional bridges he's started with Kitty.

She means a lot to him, in ways he doesn't even really understand. ]

[She holds him closer and rubs his back.] I'm not going anywhere. [She can't promise it, but she doesn't intend to.]

[ And when she does he buckles a little so she'll be back down on the ground proper, desperate for that reassurance even if it's hollow at best. He knows neither of them have any influence over what the Atroma do despite how air-headed as he may be sometimes. It's just that it hit him so fast and completely unawares that he had "lost" her before they'd even really met, technically speaking.

Even if he'd outlive her in regular time anyway. It's a hard thing to really work out, and it's going to take a bit of time for him. He's already started checking on Kurt as soon as he wakes up every evening. ]

You have to live a really long time and grow old. Okay?

[ It's practically a plea. ]

I'll do my best. [But that doesn't even feel remotely possible to her. Old? Does he mean like 30?]

Come on. Let's lay down in the bed. [Because she doesn't want to drop to the floor or hold him up like this and because she knows that's important to him and he's hurting right now.]

[ HE'D PREFER 70 AND UPWARDS, ACTUALLY...

But lying down on the bed sounds good, and not just because it's a comforting spot for him and smells like Kitty. She makes it sound like she's actually going to be there with him this time, and that's really what he needs right now. To have her be there.

So he nods mutely even though he's obviously reluctant to let go of her in any fashion, so she might need to take the lead on this one. Normally he'd be all for hopping onto the bed and dragging her over, but... ]

[Wow, dreaming big for one of the X-Men who isn't Logan.

She gently pulls back, but takes his hand so as not to break contact fully. She leads him to the bed and lays down first scooting back and coaxing him to join her.]

[ Why can't any of you die of old age???

Sascha's hand grips her firmly when she takes it, not rough or anything but enough that it's clear he's loathed to be parted from her in any sense right now. The moment she makes room for him on the bed he's right there, huddling up as close as he'll let her. Any other day he'd be wary and careful about it, but right now he just needs that reassurance. ]

[She secures her arms around him and lets him be as close as he wants.] You hear my heartbeat, right? I'm okay.

[And not to be rude and not completely present, but she does sneak her communicator into her palm to send Winn a message.]

He found out I died.

[ meanwhile, in the kitchen...

winn sits in front of his pretty lame breakfast of tea and wheat solid, since he's been too distracted to actually make something, and jumps when his communicator beeps, hurrying to pick it up.

oh. oh sascha. how he understands that reaction perfectly. just reading those words makes him want to burst into tears all over again, but kara isn't here to make him feel better, he's in the windrose kitchen and he needs to keep it together because it's sascha who needs their support right now.

he messages back. ]

go home?

[ sascha is going to need a lot of reassurances, he imagines, and not from him. he doesn't want her splitting her concern between them. ]

[ he found out, and while he isn't outright crying--because that's never something Sascha does--he's still got his face pressed to Kitty's...chest, in order to hear that heartbeat. Respectably. It's more like his face is in her collarbone than anywhere else. ]

Mmn. [ he hugs her tighter, for just a moment. ]

Up to you. Love you. [She doesn't want him here feeling awkward, but she knows Sascha likes him too so she figures he could help.

She rubs the vampire's back.]

[ he stares at that text for a minute, and tries to clear the haze of panic that sets in whenever he allows himself to think for even a second of the words dead and kitty in the same sentence. he wants to do the right thing here, but he's just not sure what it is. he doesn't want to abandon kitty to deal with this alone, but on the other hand, from the look of sascha he's not ready for any distance yet, and another person in the room, like them or not, is exactly that.

but he doesn't have all day to debate this, so eventually he sucks it up and decides - that it's really not his decision to make. this isn't about him. ]

I'll go grab my notes and hang out here in case you need me. tell sascha if he needs to talk later, he can come find me. love you too. text me for anything, including room service.

[ if they're gonna be there a while, she may need some food and water. ]

We'll breakfast with you when he calms down? [Not that they have anything on board for Sascha to eat, but she will need something. There's only so much she can comfort someone else about her own death.]

[ he never wanted kitty to comfort him about her death, it never felt right. but for sascha, it's different. not just because it's different for anyone who isn't winn - if it were anyone else, he'd try to take them aside, make them talk to him instead because this shouldn't be on kitty, she's the one who suffered it. but sascha...he's like a child, in some ways. and he's so dependent on physical reassurances. he can't bring himself to do it. ]

I'll have it ready.

[ this feels like a smiley-face pancake sort of day. but he really isn't that good in the space kitchen. so smiley face grilled cheese-like-substance it is! ]

[ It really is that sort of day, and Sascha will wish he could eat them. Even if it is grilled cheese-like-substance, it's the thought that counts. He would be touched to know Winn his best to cook them, and will be once they get there.

It takes him a while to settle even with Kitty's direct presence, which is understandable. Even with her right there, even with her heartbeat and her scent to take in and reassure him, Sascha spends a long time clinging to her and just breathing. He doesn't say much aside from the occasional mumbled apology, but eventually even those peter out. It's late for him, he's overwhelmed by what he's found out in the last twelve hours, and all he wants to do is sleep.

He resists the urge. ]

...Kitty?

Best boyfriend.

[She strokes his hair gently, hoping to reassure him.]

Yes, Sascha?

Can I stay here today?

[ Today as in, the actual daylight hours he would normally sink back to Bigby's for. ]

Yes. I'm not going to be able to stay in bed all day with you though. Do you want to come, um, watch Winn and I have breakfast first or do you want me to stay until you fall asleep?

--I wanna go. [ translation: he doesn't want kitty to leave, even if he's asleep. He can stave off sleep a little longer since it won't be direct sunlight, especially if it means staying close to her. ]

Okay. [She leans in, brushing back his hair and kissing his forehead softly.] Lead the way. [So she doesn't have to climb over him.]

[ ...Can he just keep her, forever? Sascha's not one to really want to make any further vampires, but if there was a way that it would both save Kitty from the end of her world and for her to keep her memories after becoming one? He'd seriously consider offering it to her. If he could.

The kiss has his chest tight all over again, and the urge to do....something in response makes him feel helpless because he doesn't know what that something actually is. But it has him practically melting into that sweet and tender action, desperate to soak up as much of it as he can. She's the only one who ever treats him like this, and when these rare moments occur he tries to burn every instant of them into his mind. He never wants to forget them. ]

...'kay. [ he doesn't want to move from her after all that, but he'll somehow find the strength to drag his arms under his body so he can push himself up, sitting and gingerly touching the tips of his fingers to the warm spot on his forehead. ]

[She pushes herself up too and does the scariest thing, she gets off the bed and walks a few steps away to grab a sweater just for some extra coverage. She'll skip trying to change into full pants because doing that in front of him or sending him out both seem wrong. She slips her shoes on and holds her hand out for him once she's ready.]

Come on.

[ His eyes do follow her in a small fit of paranoia when she does, it's true. but she's within reaching distance if he needs and he knows logically she's not just going to disappear or vanish. So he fidgets with his hands instead until she's done before nodding, moving over to her side quickly and hovering closer than he normally would. ]

Is Winn waiting for us...?

He is. [She won't say anything about the closeness.] You have your glasses?

Oh....yeah. [ he should put those on huh? They're on the bed where he dropped them so he actually has to go back a step or two to fetch them, but once they're settled on the bridge of his nose he'll move back. ]

I'm still not used to wearing them.
