Winter & Vision's (not so) Excellent Adventure
Who: Winter, Vision, & You
Broadcast: n/a
Action: Forest, planetside
When: July 9th
[ This thread is going to serve both as a canon update to post Captain America: Civil War for Winter and Vision, but also be used as a monthly catch-all with prompts. ]
[ It's been a few weeks since they've landed, so Winter's finally gotten over most of his initial uneasiness. Enough to finally venture into the forest for a hike and get the lay of the land. He's familiar with the beach and the markets, and he's heard things about the forest and a certain tree, so he needs to see for himself if the rumors are true.
It's relatively peaceful, and he hasn't come across anyone else yet. He's making his way around a fallen tree when an animal jumps out of a nearby bush and startles him. Winter stumbles back, and his immediate reaction is to reach out with his left hand to steady himself. Unfortunately it's still broken, so it doesn't cooperate like it's meant to. Which means that he trips and falls. Down a steep hill. Only having one functioning arm means he raises his right to shield his head until he can manage to slow down or run into something. Which is exactly what he does before his head smacks solidly against a hard surface. ]
[Meanwhile, the Vision is similarly engaged in heading toward the tree to investigate it. He’s heard you need someone’s hand to hold in order for the magic to work, but his curiosity has the better of him and he’d like to observe it in action first. A scuffle down below his flight path catches his attention, and he swoops into the forest to see what’s going on just in time to see Winter, of all people, taking a tumble down a steep hillside. He rushes over to try and intercept the man before he seriously hurts himself, and in his rush he miscalculates his own density and slams down hard enough that Winter smacks his head against the Vision instead of catching himself safely.
Oops.
The impact is enough to snap the Vision’s head back and hit it against the tree he’d been trying to prevent Winter from hitting. So now there are two enhanced individuals knocked out on the forest floor. How very impressive.]

Winter;; other options
[ He can't help but be drawn to the beaches, with its rolling surfs and warm sands. Most of the time he can be found sitting on the beach with his feet in the sand close enough to the tide that the water occasionally brushes his toes.
Other times, Winter just walks along the shore, trying to get the most out of it while they're still here. ]
[ B;; The Market ]
[ Winter's managed to find a few odd jobs here and there in order to get some sort of currency. It's hard to pass up the opportunity to have fresh produce, so he can be found wandering the stalls stocking up on fruits and vegetables for the Heron. ]
[ C;; Giving Tree ]
[ He's heard enough of the rumors to finally want to see the tree for himself. If it's true and it does give you something from home, Winter is curious to see what he would get. If anything.
The tree is massive and easy to find, at least. The only downside is that he didn't bring anyone with him for this hand-holding business. Care to volunteer? ]
A
You're from the Fleet, right?

That's right. I'm on the Heron.

Giving Tree
Winter.
[When she last saw him his eyes were vacant but his actions were fierce even as wounded as he was. She can't even fully remember how he managed to get a hit in. The concussion managed to slip a few of the memories away from her. She only knows that she got herself away. Probably a self-preservation mode. Otherwise she would have stayed and made sure he couldn't hurt anyone else. But that's over now and there they are.]
Been awhile.
Giving Tree
Kitty.
[ He looks over her quickly, to see if she's still hurt, but he doesn't see anything. Thank god she hadn't ended up like Wrath. ]
Yeah, it has. Doing okay?

Market
It's hard to avoid noticing someone's presence when they're picking over the same stall and when their hands both grab a ripe looking something or other, the small crannogman lets go, looking up at him with his deep green eyes. Everyone he's met so far has been friendly, but he's not going to risk a fight when all that arms him is a fishing net hanging off his hips. Reclusiveness is in his nature. ]
Sorry.

Wanda;;
Now is a good a time as any to really speak to her, so he hoists himself out of the sand and approaches on her left, touching her elbow. Surely, she noticed his approaching shadow, right? ]

Winter. You look well. [Certainly better than the last time they spoke, an exchange that had delved deeper on both sides than he had expected. He hasn't given it much thought since.]
B
[ It's nice after being cooped up on their ships, and everyone gets to have their own space. Most of the crew haven't really stuck to the Heron since they landed, which is understandable. ]

c. because I need this awkwardness.
there would have to be some locals hanging around, right?
except the figure that steps in next to him is not a local, and despite the way that sam initially brightens to a smile and an almost-proposal, it stills when he sees winter. ]
Trying for something from home?

She climbs trees, she wanders, and she eventually ends up where the big tree is--which is good, since she has directions on how to get back to the village from there. Seeing Winter is an unexpected treat, which makes it an even better day. She's briefly tempted to see if she can sneak up on him, but stealth has never really been her thing, and she doesn't want to freak him out or put him on edge. Better to just announce her presence enthusiastically.]
Winter!

Bucky is pulled from his thoughts by Wrath's approach and subsequent greeting. His head whips up, eyes locking on her. His shoulder drops, guard immediately lowering once he realizes who it is. He even looks pleased to see her, especially up and about the way she is. ]

The Vision; other options
Anyone who's seen his garden on the Windrose knows the Vision has developed a soft spot for plant life, so it's no surprise that he finds himself in various markets dedicated to horticulture. Decorative pottery or woodwork that can house useful plants, seedlings or sprouts of the same, or even genial conversation with the friendly natives are all precious commodities he finds there, and anyone else is welcome to join him.
B - Flying
As with the other open-aired worlds they've been to, the Vision takes the opportunity to get out and explore on his own terms, which means in the air. Want to spot him from a shuttle? Can you fly and want to hang out above the treetops? Come say hi!
C - Open
After he awakens from the spill, the Vision will behave markedly differently. Why could that be? Choose your own adventure!]
C
Sighing, she closes the book, ready to pack up and try again another day, when she sees Vision walking nearby. She waves, happy to see him outside of the surgical suite.]

My, that's quite the fall from grace.
[ For a brief moment, he considers poking the man. Counterproductive, since he's not dead and had no heartbeat, but Leto always found these dramatic moments amusing, as if he's laughing at his own personal joke. Or is it the universe? ]

C; after Wanda's return
Vis! I-
[Obviously, she knew he was still around, having exchanged texts with him not long after her return to the Fleet. Still, she had not been expecting to run into him in person so soon. In fact, she had kind of been avoiding places in the Fleet where she figured he would be. She doesn't look angry when she sees him though, more ashamed or perhaps guilty.]

Not right now, though. Right now, she hears two people crashing through and into the trees. She changes course and picks up her pace. It's not long before she pushes through a dense screen of undergrowth and onto the scene where she finds...
Not two people she expected to find.
Natasha approaches slowly, frowning as she tries to make sense of what happened here. Reading the scene, it doesn't look like it was a fight. She's not really sure what it does look like though.
She stops short of the pile of them.]
