[ some of you may have noticed that winn has been uncharacteristically quiet for the past...16 days. he's not really sure how to address the elephant in the room - he knows these two weeks and change have been hard on the people he loves but for him it's like no time has passed and the dissonance is hard to bridge.

it's a good thing he has a not at all unhealthy coping mechanism set in place. ]

You know, if we're entertainment on a reality show, the least they can do is give us like a recap - you know your basic [ in a tv announcer impression ] here's what you missed on the Fleet - or - last week, on the young and the Drifting - [ he rubs the back of his head before shaking it ] Well, maybe talking about the 'least they can do' isn't such a great plan...first order of business - what'd I miss? Second order of business - if you or anyone you know has ever fallen into an unexplained sleep here or at any other kidnappy world - I'd appreciate it if you'd answer a couple questions, they're a text attachment at the bottom. Sorry if it's been done before, I'll gladly take a link to any previous research as well as fresh data. Third order of business -- hi. [ he gives the camera a little wave and a nervous chuckle ] Um. Yeah, I'm, I'm fine, I should've opened with that but if you know me the order isn't really gonna surprise you that much and if you don't you're probably really confused right now and looking for the off button - it's to your right, right on top, there you go.

[ except he's not all the way out. hank and cisco each get the following message to their personal numbers ]

I need to discuss something in person. My place? [ he can't really leave kitty yet ]

I missed everything about you. [She may have mentioned this a lot already but not while so intently kissing him.]

[ he smiles ]

Everything about me missed you.

[ clearly. well, except for his conscious mind, because that was shut down and had no idea it was supposed to be missing anyone, it doesn't count. ]

Says the man who didn't feel the passage of time. [She kisses him warmly. She appreciates him saying it though.]

I feel it in retrospect.

[ he feels horribly guilty and sad at what he's put her through even though it wasn't his choice. that's kinda like missing? ]

[That is nothing like missing. It's sweet, but she doesn't want him to feel that way either. It's amazing enough he's this understanding and supportive of her needs. That's more than enough.] I love you.

[ he learned it from her - she's never upset with him when he gets jealous and his jealousy is way more unreasonable as in - there is something unreasonable about it whereas there is nothing unreasonable to him about needing to be with the person you love after they were in a coma.

he smiles and strokes her cheek. ]

I love you too.

[She watches him adoringly.] It's going to be really hard to leave when Hank and Cisco come over to play.

Mmmhm -- [ he checks his communicator ]

Well no word from either of them yet - that's future Winn and Kitty's problem.

[ normally, he would invite her to join them. but this isn't normal, and if he's been put down because of his work, then he wants kitty as far away from it as possible. if she gets sent home - she dies. no way is he taking that risk. ]

Future Winn and future Kitty are so good to deal with those things so we don't have to. [She is just going to get lost in kissing him again. Of course if they still had their link she'd be side eyeing him instead because she's only thinking of leaving so she doesn't overwhelm him and to keep an eye on her own life that still happens separately from Winn in some places. No way is she letting him decide what risks she can take.]

We love them about as much as they'll hate us.

[ he knows she won't like it - but that's the silver lining of losing their connection, he can keep those thoughts to himself, can keep his secrets again, an focus on the kissing. ]

[Wow, so manipulative.]

Story of our lives. [Blissfully unaware kissing and coaxing him down onto the bed.]

[ it's very loving manipulation at least, and will only last for the blindly digging portion of the research or until he's busted or cracked, whichever comes first.

he takes very little coaxing. ]

[Teamwork is very important to her. She had a very X-Men way of life. She doesn't just want to be his girlfriend. She wants to be his partner. That said, she would definitely jump in front to protect him in a fight so there's that.

No fights here now though. Just some very mutual touching and kissing. Hank and Cisco can definitely wait.]

[ well see, in a physical fight he will totally hide behind her. a good partnership recognizes strengths, weaknesses, and limitations!

the mutual touching leans a little more in her favor, as he's still not back to full strength. ]

[She notices. She's been noticing. And she's not upset by any stretch, but she does stop the kissing for a moment to touch base. Well, she stops some of the kissing. She still drops them on his throat.] Hey, how are you feeling? I mean after being asleep all that time.

[ she's answered with a small frustrated whine - really? now? ]

I'm fine. [ so a little stiff, a little weak, but that's really not a turn he wants the conversation to take. him? a little weak? sounds like an improvement, doesn't it. ]

[Oh come on, as if they ever that far away from doing this.] I know you're fine. [She smiles and nips lightly at his neck.] Just checking on how your muscles are holding up.

[ true. ]

Did Jim put you up to this?

[ he quirks a brow because this is totally the time to joke and bring up other people, right? ]

They're loving the vote of confidence.

Yes. Jim and I are constantly talking about your body. We can't be stopped. [Or they never have. It's one of those two.]

I can't fuss over you? [Giving him a faux pouty look.]

I see no logical faults with that statement and believe it fully.

[ nod. hey, they both have an interest in his body. it's just a very different sort of interest. his smile softens and he leans in for a soft kiss. ]

Sorry, of course you can. Resume your fussing. I'm okay - just a little weak, but it's not gonna get better if I don't work at it, right?

Of course you do. [Kissing back warmly.]

Mmm, in that case, you should really be on top. [This questioning was never going to end in her not wanting to move forward. Promise.] Is it creepy if I say I can work you harder than Jim?

[ a shuddering breath goes through him. ]

Jim who?

[ that was really hot, he leans in for another deep kiss. ]

[See? She can always bring it back around. She kisses back enthusiastically and then rolls them so he can be on top as promised.]

[ it's not exactly difficult for them to end up here. he's always afraid of what might happen if - or, when - they start cooling off physically.

he pushes his body as far as it can go, but he still relies more heavily on her than usual. when they're done, he runs his fingers absentmindedly through her hair, wishing he were connected to her feelings again, wishing he could know and at the same time glad he can't know if he disappointed her. 17 days is an eternity for them, maybe that helped cover up for his state. ]

[She is young and full of energy. What makes you think you'll live long enough for her to cool off? But mostly, she loves him for more than his abilities in bed, so don't worry about silly things.

She's pressed against him and practically glowing.] That felt so good. [The longest 17 days ever. Did they even go 17 days of knowing each other before they were doing this?]
