[He surprises himself when the feed clicks on easily enough. It's unsettling, but at least it's simple. He can bury the unsettling parts.

Those of you who are familiar—or who have had enough introductions to become familiar—might recognize the striped grey and blue of a Grey Warden uniform, with its high, studded collar, and the curled griffon on the shoulder.

Anders is, for his part, smiling broadly.]

So! Now that I've gotten through the "manhandled into a tin can" bit, closely followed by the "manhandled into a slightly smaller tin can" bit, I thought I'd take some time to say hello. Is everyone comfortable? Because I am not, thanks for asking. [beat] Does it ever bother you how terribly one-sided this is?

[Let him talk and he'll talk. Congratulations on being the captive audience.

Right, back on track.]

Now, I don't usually mind a bit of manhandling, of course, but even I have some standards. It was all terribly anticlimactic. Hardly a kidnapping at all, really.

Anyhow. [with a bit more grandeur:] I believe introductions are in order, don't you? I'm going to eat this [he lifts the little dessert cream in a toast] so you go first.

Fenris just squints at the screen, he's used to time shenanigans by now. If you live in a place where time travel is the name of the game, it becomes the status quo. But this is something very out of the ordinary. Maybe he has a brother, or something. He'll carefully venture, but the disdain is still there:]

[Anders laughs, as if Fenris has told a particularly clever joke, but his smile turns sharp at the edges.]

[He is not that oblivious, no. He knows what recognition sounds like. But in his experience, people knowing his name before he knows them is not a good sign of anything.]

[By the time Jove comes across this message, it's already quite clear who this particular mage is. All in all, he's absolutely not what she expected the catalyst of a mage rebellion to look like, but isn't that always the way? She was just an elf, he looks and sounds like just a human, and the whole thing is going to give her a headache bad enough to make even Mythal cry.

When she goes home, she's giving her advisors a talking to. They absolutely do not pay her enough for this.]

But I'm getting ahead of myself. It would be remiss of me not to ask the lovely lady's name, first. To whom do I owe the pleasure?

Oh, what flavor is it? [Komaeda has been fussing around in the kitchen lately, and to say that he's unimpressed with nutrient paste is.... a vast understatement.]

This one? Chocolate. It's a bit— something, maybe ["synthetic" is the word he means, but of course he doesn't have one for that] but still. I think they're rather good.

[Anders, by contrast, is very easily impressed. Anything that isn't the Circle's carefully scheduled meals or the Wardens' tightly-monitored rations is like heaven to him.]

[Wow, so that was a barrage of things he didn't understand at all. Still, after Fenris, this is somehow an upgrade.]

I think you may have taken me for someone else, friend. Seeing as I only understood about half of that, and I've never seen you before in my life.

[A beat, and his voice hushes a little conspiratorially, as if that will keep the conversation more private over this very public feed.]

But if you're having trouble in the, ah, downstairs department, there's no need to be ashamed. I'm sure there's someone here who'd be happy to lend a hand.

[The obnoxious sound of the confetti popping and welcoming music meant that there was someone new aboard. It'd only been a week since he heard it when he arrived on the ship himself. Well, might as well go and meet the new company. It's not like he had been doing anything important anyways, just avoiding his bossy, pint-sized captain.]

Ah, hello. You must be the new guy. I'm Tohru Adachi, the security officer on this ship. [He offers Anders a wave in greeting.]

[Oh, good. For all that he enjoys talking without interruption, he much prefers face-to-face contact to... whatever this is. Video chat. He's uncomfortable with the fact that he knows the name of it.]

So it would seem. Anders, and pleased to meet you. Lab support, I believe. [He laughs, a little uncomfortably.] And understand, somehow, against all odds.

[Watch him resolutely not do that job except in emergencies, please and thanks.]

[Through the chaos and confusion of everything else, there is at least now real, palpable relief for him. The faux-cheerfulness gives way a bit, to something very much more genuine.]

The sentiment is very mutual, you have no idea. Really and truly, I'm not exaggerating this time. [He clears his throat.] What's the word, Commander? Any thrilling acts of heroism here for the Wardens to sweep away with?

[He lets her go for a while, chewing idly, half-smiling. He doesn't really care; if she wants to do the legwork, he'll let her.

[Here's the thing: Arhen could easily be upset about whatever associations he has with Anders' name (thank you, communicator-thing, you're useful after all), but- well, honestly, he doesn't especially care. All of that mages and templars business was between them and the rest of the Andrastians, and the only part that ever mattered was the fighting beginning to pose a risk to the clan.

Besides, he's yet to meet a Templar he liked (at least, one that hadn't left the order), and the Circles sounded terrible. Guess which elf is totally okay with dismantling that, just guess.

So Arhen is perfectly cheerful when he finds a spot to hop up and perch, settling in with all the ease of someone used to far more difficult climbs.]

They're very fond of us from Thedas here, aren't they? I'll admit, though, I'm surprised they're dragging off Wardens.

[He's pretty sure they're all a bit mad. Just a bit.]
