When: Today, as Sora's augment glitch starts.

[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?

In other words, it's an Iskaulit mingle with a twist! Come on in everyone! You don't need to interact with Sora to have it effect you, so feel free to start your own threadstarter! Or talk to Sora, that's cool too. ]

[That's the most entertainment he's had in a week.]

Don't flail like that. [He's got himself anchored to the wall, which really helps when he's reach toward the suddenly not-earthbound elf.] That's not gonna help.

[If he manages to reach, he'll catch Maglor's arm and serve as an anchor until he reorients.

[ But he tries not to flail too much, and he is totally not clingnig to McCoy for dear life that is your imagination ]

[Oh... okay then, you cling however you need to. McCoy grunts and shifts and there, if Maglor reaches out, he can also grab hold of the doorjamb that McCoy is making judicious use of.]

Yep. Not my fondest memories either. I managed to break my wrist when the gravity came back on.

Maglor sees the doorjamb and nods in thanks, reaching for it in turn ]

Yeah. Wasn't even my first time in a gravity failure. I just landed wrong when it came back. My nurse wasn't happy with me. Point is, try to keep your feet under you and try to stay relaxed.

Maglor nods, breathing regulating - focusing on something other than the fact he is floating helps ]

It... feels most strange. I do not know if I can relax. But I will try. It is something common, then?

It does feel strange, I'll give you that. [The Academy had practically pounded zero-g procedures into their heads, though. Something about operating in space... ] I hate it, but it's a possibility on any ship. Not so common where I'm from. We don't often get these sorts of malfunctions.

[He owes Scotty one for that, come to think of it.]

So you are trained for it, I suppose - it makes sense, I suppose. You would think they would include such useful information on these ships too.

[ He looks a bit like a swimmer, trying to get mostly upright ]

Do you think it will last long?

Well, if this is some set-up meant for entertainment, why would they? People like to see others floundering around.

[He shrugs then.] Yeah, that I don't know. Probably not, but this ain't my ship, so...

And so I suppose we will be like this until they grow bored.

... Although is it normal for it to be confined to a single area like this.

[ Because someone sure just walked normally down the corridor not a few meters away ]

Not usually. [He eyes the people walking without complication not that far away and sighs.] We can probably get over there. Just have to be careful with the landing.

A 'sudden drop'? [ he says wryly and nods ]

I would guess we pull ourselves over?

And a sudden stop.

[He gives a wry grin.] I could just throw you over there and see what happens.

[ Maglor snorts, laughter lighting his eyes ]

You could - if you could persuade me to let go!

Drink's are on me? [Is that persuasive enough?]

[ Maglor pretends to think on that ]

Hm, and would this be for the 'good stuff' or only the 'cheap swill'?

I would never give anyone cheap swill. I should throw you over there just for that.

A man of true integrity! As an apology, I should let you!

You better believe it. [He's just gonna snarl and grump for a moment or two longer.] We just gonna hang out here all day then?

[ Maglor laughs and then gingerly reaches for another handhold ]

While we could, I suppose we should begin our journey back to more normal climes?

Yeah. [He shifts again, moving deliberately and carefully.] Try to stay close to the deck. When we do hit gravity again, you want a short fall.

[ Maglor copies him, moving slowly ]

A very good point, I will try and aim for further down. I do hope this is not a regular occurrence! I rather think I will leave flight to the birds.

[He snorts at that.] If men - or whatever you are - were meant to fly, we'd have goddamn wings.

You can say elf. [ Maglor points out, amused ] We are all used to being called that, you know.

And I will also point out that there are several folk here from worlds with magic who probably can fly.

I generally go with 'hey you' but elf works. [Suddenly that sometime-insult he uses for Spock is an actual thing, go figure.] Good for them. I can't so I like to stay on the ground.

[That whole working and living in space thing notwithstanding.] This'll be a bit of a jolt. You ready?
