[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?

[Sometimes the Duck was just too small to get a proper work out in, so leaving his kittens safely locked in his room so they didn't go on a rampage around the ship while he was gone, Remy had made his way to the Iskaulit for a chance of pace. At least it had been his plan, but as he had gotten close to the room he had felt a drain on his energy. It wasn't noticing his powers suddenly gone, but a general lack of energy, alertness, that constant buzz he held. Everything was suddenly very tiring.

Pushing through the weird sensation and getting to the gym, there was a very familiar pink light within... and for once it wasn't his fault for it being there.] ...Kitty? [Just... what? What? How... how was that even happening?]

Remy? [She glances over quickly at Gambit when she hears her name and then her eyes focus back on the glowing weight. It makes sense in that nonsensical sort of way that comes up in these places. She has his powers as he happens to be passing by? Sure. She can figure out what that means later. For right now if she could get this to not blow up that might be good.]

How do I stop it? [Or should she be throwing it and hoping for the best? Maybe if she aims at one of the punching bags. Bad for the bag, but it should absorb some of the energy and prevent major damage to the ship. Or maybe his powers are toned down enough that he can't hurt the ship hulls. He wouldn't be the first person with some safety guards in that respect.]

[Moving to rest a hand against the door frame as he took in the scene, his distraction at the fact she was actually charging an item meant he assumed he had stumbled forward, not noticing his hand had actually phased through the wall. Catching his balance, Remy quickly made his way over to her. How the hell did he explain this to someone else?]

Ah ya... pull it back in. Think of it like a force, something that travels out of ya hands 'nd into the item. Ya gotta try 'nd pull it back into ya hands. [The fact he also was looking around for a safe place to throw it which wouldn't cause too much damage may speak louder than his words. Hey, he's been there, you needed a back up plan if things did not work out. Explosions were no laughing matter.]

[Controlling her power is more like having control over her body—something that was hard to do even after years of dance practice helping to focus some of that control. It's all internal and this feels like part of her but also not—a force like he said.

Still, she does what she can to picture herself drawing it back inside. She feels a pull? A tug? Something happens. The item dims slightly, but it's too hard and she doesn't have a good handle of it. More than that she can feel the weight growing more unstable.]

Okay, not working. Duck! [If she'd been less focused on the explosive she might have noticed him phasing in which case "Phase!" would have been a much more efficient means for staying safe. Regardless, she aims the weight for one of the punching bags and it absorbs some of the energy as she hoped, limiting the explosion and spraying the room in punching bag fluff. That's when she notices that on top of suddenly making explosives she can't phase anymore either.]

[Remy was well use to ducking for cover with explosives, but his natural instinct was to reach out and grab her too, to pull her back in case the blast was larger than expected. At least if his hand hadn't passed through her arm as he had made a grab for her.

This time he certain noticed it, the sudden lack of contact where it should be, even if it was temporarily pushed aside as the explosion went off and Remy raised his head to check out the damage left over from it. Part of his mind was still tempted to make a joke about it, yet concern and confusion over what was happened was so much more important.] Yeah, startin' to think that m'self...

[Wait. Moving over to her, Remy carefully reached out for her hand, actually grasping it this time before turning it over, checking to see if she had burnt herself.] Ya ok?

[Even with the business of an explosion to attend to she noticed his arm slipping through hers too.] I'll be okay. [Her palm is a little singed. That's how she knew it was time she had to let it go.]

Wasn't expecting us to suddenly switch powers. [Since that's abundantly clear now.] You weren't just wishing you could walk through walls or something, were you? [Freaky Friday? She wasn't really hoping to make things explode though.]

Ahhh, [Yeah, give him a moment for his brain to process that this was even happening. Remy was sure he had left this kind of merde behind in Luceti, but he guessed that had been too much to hope for. Luckily he was a bit more use to the bizarre thanks to his time there.

At least he hadn't changed genders again...] Not 'nytime of late. Back home, maybe, when up against a tough vault door, but not while trapped in a tin can in the middle of space. [Now that, that was a terrifying thought, so much that it showed on his face.] 'm not goin' to phase through the ship, am I?

[This would be perfectly in place in the prison. She's more surprised to be encountering it on the fleet. One of their powers doing something bizarre seems more likely here.]

No. ...Probably not. [He could.] We both have some training to do I think.

[That... wasn't reassuring, and Remy went very still. Was it a case of not thinking too much about it? Would picturing it happening make it happen? Oh bon Dieu, that was never easy, to ignore the elephant in the room.]

Ahh, yeah, that, that be a real good idea. [Yep, let's start on that.] So... how do I turn 'probably not' 'nto 'no'?

For starters, until this switches back avoid anything that might make concentrating hard. Like heavy drinking or [is she really going to say this? She probably needs to. Falling out of the ship wouldn't be that bad, right? Sigh.] orgasms. [MOVING RIGHT ALONG.]

[Nightmares and migraines can be problems too but she can't really tell him to just avoid those.] The good news is your default setting is solid. You just have to learn how to trigger and not trigger it.

[Oh...] Well there goes my plans for the evenin'. [No, really, it does... and until this got sorted back to normal.]

Ok, so... not sure if I wanna run with an ignorance is bliss sorta thing 'nd not know what would trigger them, or better to know so I can avoid them... but always have it in the back of m' mind that they could just go off. [Yep, terrifying. Give him back the chance he might explode at any moment, that was much easier to handle.

Talking of,] Ah, ya goin' to have to burn up some of that energy, by the way. Exercise, eatin', drinkin', 'nything to make ya body use energy or ya might... pop.

I'm going to assume you mean drinking. [Because she's so innocent?]

Fear. Though it's usually a good thing when it goes off for that. I don't know, it's been second nature so long it's hard to describe how I keep it in check.

Expending energy is a good tip though. Popping would be bad. I guess this training session just got doubled. [And she can do lots of the things she just told him not to do. It is good to hear though. Her instinct was to stay calm to combat it.]

[Normally Remy might make some sort of smart remark to such a comment, but considering they were both going through a rather dangerous set of power switching, there really wasn't time to add that in.] Fight or flight, hein? I'll try 'nd avoid those situations as well.

[Remy then frowned, tilting his head side to side, as if weighing up the options.] Oui, in a way, but I am a kinetic charger, 'nd movin' is kinetic 'nergy so... that can be a little bit of a double edge sword. Helps burn it off to some degree, but can also bump them up a little. But for the most, should do what ya need. [Then again... Remy was taking his power use to another level he hadn't done before getting on the Fleet, using a permanent shield around himself to burn off the mass of excess energy he had gained since having his powers unlocked again.] Ya might want to stop in 'nd talk to Hank or Charles, they were workin' on a device to help me control my energy. Ya may need that. Dependin' how long this lasts, that be.

Just... watch out for a burnin' feelin'.
