[ It's harder to structure his thoughts without his telepathy, but Charles has had decades of practice. He knows how to order his mind, how to bring his thoughts into a comforting rhythm. It's a steady hum of breathe, it'll be all right, just listen to my thoughts and tune out the world. . . ]

[ He makes it sound easy, really, but of course it isn't; it's like trying to find a single echo when an ocean is raging around in your ears, with noise making your mind feel fuzzy and out of place. Raven holds onto him, leaning forward as her eyes close. It takes a little while, and she's obviously not comfortable, but she soon finds Charles and latches onto him, trying to focus completely to block the rest of the ship out. ]

[ He maintains a steady cadence. The more structured and soothing the thoughts, the easier it is to negate the overwhelming volume around them. He can feel her slip into his mind. He's not bothered or afraid. It would be hypocritical. Instead, he simply wraps his arms around her, keeping the beat of his thoughts. ]

[ It helps, and Raven can pick up on Charles easier now; she can lean closer to him both mentally and physically and try yo calm herself down. With his arms around her and his thoughts soft against the explosion of everyone else she suddenly feels... Calmer. ]

[ He's not sure how and he's not willing to panic about it, not when she's relying on his thoughts right now. ]

[ A small part of her is desperately curious, and she holds onto him. ]

Well. I haven't tried anything. I might be blue. Or it's possible it went to someone else. I don't feel any different.

[ Focussed on Charles, she lifts a hand to brush fingers over his cheek. ]

It's like... Imagining yourself as someone else. A feeling inside, of change. Being someone different, remembering exactly what they look like.

[ It's a weak attempt st humour, and Raven breathes out. ]

Yes and no. It's always there. You can't turn it off or reduce it. But you've seen Cerebro. The lights in the world. If it was always like that, I would never put it on.

[ Her eyes squeeze shut and she wrinkles her nose, a touch frustrated. ]

I can't imagine ever wanting to use Cerebro after - this.
