Iskaulit Mingle - Problems with Psychics

Who: Anyone on the Iskaulit!
Broadcast: If you'd like?!
Action: Iskaulit!
When: Today, as Sora's augment glitch starts.

[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?

In other words, it's an Iskaulit mingle with a twist! Come on in everyone! You don't need to interact with Sora to have it effect you, so feel free to start your own threadstarter! Or talk to Sora, that's cool too. ]

See? That isn't much older at all.

[Eighteen is totally close to twenty-something! Or at least close enough. This isn't like comparing himself to Edna, who's probably like a thousand years old.]

Anyway, obviously this means you should find Sorey, at least. He'd be happy to know you can see.
sylphystia: (♢ for it ain't so weird)

It's enough. [HE'S NOT A KID WITH A CUTE BUTTON NOSE AND BIG DARK LASHES HE FLUTTERS AT EVERYONE, OKAY

Dezel gets Mikleo's angle here, but he's not having any of it.]

I'm not leaving you alone like this. Not until you can get around by yourself.
nerdeology: (you really should be more honest.)

I don't mean now.

[He likes being self-sufficient, but that doesn't mean he's happy to stumble around the ship looking like an idiot. And he's essentially trapped on the Iskaulit unless the situation changes or someone flies him back. He can't fly a shuttle blind.]

Just... at some point. Before this reverses itself.

[It'd be nice for the both of them, okay?]
sylphystia: (♢ come make me smile again)

[personal profile] sylphystia 2016-11-30 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Dezel is silent for a moment. Though Mikleo's the blind one currently, he might feel the older seraph's eyes on him. He can see Mikleo's angle now... Sorey seeing Dezel without his usual handicap might cheer him up a bit. Sorey worries a lot, even though Dezel's blindness isn't really a problem.

But they should take the good things where they can, and leave the rest.]

All right.

[He gently guides Mikleo around a corner, steering him with patient tugs to his sleeve and slow, measured steps. After a moment, he slips his hat off his head and plonks it down on Mikleo's.]

This is probably the best place to learn how to read the wind. When it's gusty it tends to go everywhere. You'll find it easier to concentrate with the dead air.

But first you need to learn how to control the wind. You have to tell it where to go-- you have to give it a purpose. A destination. [Not unlike wind seraphim.]

How are you supposed to do that? It just keeps doing whatever it wants.

[Also not unlike wind seraphim. He lifts a hand to touch at the brim of the hat, brows furrowing, and tries to reach out to the air around them, the way he would reach out for water.

He feels something graze over his hand, almost gently, and then it suddenly bursts between them like a miniature tornado, blowing the hat to a jaunty angle on his head, a mere inch away from falling right off.]

...Like that. I didn't tell it to do that.
sylphystia: (♢ i know that you will)

[personal profile] sylphystia 2016-12-02 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, that was actually funny to watch. Dezel stifles a chuckle in his arm-- a rare thing to be sure.]

You thought about the hat. That's what it picked up on.

[Trying to be serious, now.]

Concentrate on the walls in here. You want to know where they are without touching them. If it helps, you can hold out your hands.
nerdeology: (...some of us...)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-12-04 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Mikleo should just give the hat back, it's not like he needs it. But since he can't see Dezel without it, and therefore won't think about how weird that is, after a long moment he reaches up to fix it and does as advised, stretching his hands out on either side of his body, trying to focus on what's around him. Just... find the walls. It's that simple. Find the walls. Using the wind.

....

Using. The. Wind.

Right.

Dammit.]

You make this look way easier than it actually is.
sylphystia: (♢ you're always at your best)

[personal profile] sylphystia 2016-12-05 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't start off that way. [He doesn't let go of Mikleo's upper arm just yet. He knows how important it is to keep wind seraphim grounded, considering he usually is one.] I did a lot of stumbling and crawling before I figured out what to do. Rose thought I was a poltergeist.

[Anyway.]

If you're that tense, you won't be able to concentrate... You're thinking too hard about what it is. [He sighs lightly.] Let's think about water instead. Think of all the water that's suspended in the air, even if you can't see it. Imagine you're pushing it away from yourself.
nerdeology: (i need another story to tell...)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-12-05 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Imagine air as water? That's... well, it isn't much of a stretch, actually, now that he's thinking about it. He's always felt some exasperation for wind seraphim; they're opposites on the elemental spectrum, and so often their personalities tend to clash in some way. He has enough stories about Shiron to fill a novel and then some. But the elements themselves... even as opposites, they're as connected as the other elements. There's water in the air, and there's air in the water: it's small, sometimes buried deep within the particles, but there nonetheless.

He can't reach for it the same way as he used to - it hurts, that cruel disconnection of such a huge part of himself - but the feeling is the same. There are echoes, found in this new experience. He tries using that instead of forcing it, closing blind eyes as if that'll make a difference. After trying for a while, his brows furrow, fingers curling.]

I think... I can feel them? A little bit, anyway. The wind keeps bouncing off of something in every direction.

[While he's messing around, a small gust of the drifting air bumps into Dezel, too.]
