[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?

Can you even manage a snowball? It took me years to get snow instead of ice.

[And Winter is the school he took to most quickly.]

[ Maglor pauses, doubtfully and eyes his hands ]

What would a snowball feel like?

[wolfehawke]

It's ice but soft. Ice is...

[He trails off, trying to figure out how to explain it with the music of the spheres still playing on at the back of his mind.]

Winter is a school of contradictions. It's cold, yes, but sharp and biting usually. That's the easiest way to summon it up. But to get things like snow, or graceful flakes you need call on its power with a calm. Or not a calm, precisely, but a... I don't know what you would call it. A sense of wonder? That... that feeling of a winter morning, after the snow's fallen in the night and you wake up to the fields and trees just glistening under clear skies. It's a warmth layered over the cold, somehow, but not enough to melt it.

[He rubs his forehead, leaning against the wall.]

Am I making any sense?

[bythewaves]

Huh. [ Maglor hums softly ] Like the sea on a windless night, where the waves are quiet, and the moon is bright.

[ He eyes his hands and reaches to poke cautiously at that new sense, trying to get a feel for it. ]

You should have been a poet, my friend.

[ He says absently, and gasps as a small spark of frost lightning, like likee shimmers of ice sparks briefly in his hands ]

[wolfehawke]

[At Maglor's saying he should have been a poet, Adalwolfe lets out a sharp bark of a laugh. He would have denied it immediately too, but then Maglor manages a small ice bolt and that distracts him from the topic.]

There you go, that's something. Still a bit more offensive than you might like, though. Too keyed up. It's got to be softer. Like, uh...

[How does he explain this? Music, maybe? Maglor knows music.]

Like a lullaby, maybe?

Rather. [ He agrees wryly ] Useful for making my brother's hair stand on end, but not much more than that.

A lullaby... [ He murmurs softly, humming something low and sweet, a gentle rocking like waves on the sea ... and gets a soft blue glow, the slightest hint of cold, and... one teeny tiny snowflake ]

Well it's not a snowball but...

[wolfehawke]

But it's something. Very good.

[Adalwolfe gives Maglor a broad grin for his accomplishment, but it's what Mags said before that really has the human's attention.]

You have a brother too?

I had six - one older and five younger. The eldest is here - Maedhros is his name.

[wolfehawke]

Goodness, big family.

[He smiles.]

You'll have to introduce me sometime. I'd introduce you but my siblings aren't here. Marian sort of is but it's more complicated than that.

[bythewaves]

My family was always a little odd like that. [ Maglor laughs softly ]

Most of my folk will have one or two, maybe three. I am one of seven, and both my uncles had four. Grandfather himself had five. Highly odd! But I can certainly do so - you may well have seen him around. Seven foot red-haired elves with one hand are rather distinctive!

How is your sibling 'sort of' here?

[wolfehawke]

I may have seen him in the bar, but I've never spoken with him.

[There are quite a few people he's never spoken with. Some just like to keep to themselves, some he just hasn't had the occasion just yet.]

As for Marian, it's more that she's 'sort of' my sister. I mean, I deem her such, and we have ostensibly the same parents, but we're from separate versions of our world. As confusing as it is, there are upwards of four different versions of Thedas represented here in the fleet for some reason.

Separate... four separate versions? That... is very strange, my friend. But I am glad you have a sister, even if the circumstances are... odd.

[wolfehawke]

At least four. Probably more. I don't want to think about it all too much as it gets terribly confusing.

[He smiles gently.]

I am, too, as much as I dearly miss Bethany. It's sort of neat to find out what it might be like for Carver and Bethy though, since they were twins and since we're practically the same, Marian and I could be twins. Or twin-ish anyway.

[bythewaves]

Oh dear. [ Maglor says with feeling ] I imagine it must do! I do not know how you all keep it stright.

As to that - well, having had twin brothers, I must now restrain the urge to run far away lest you turn that twin tendency to gang up on folk on me! [ He laughs ]

Hmm, now there's a thought.

[He rubs his chin, contemplating the concept of a tag-team with Marian.]

Between the two of us, we could get into an enormous mess of exciting trouble, I'm sure.
