You can check out anytime you'd like.. [Hotel Corona Mingle]
Who: The Fleet!
Broadcast: If you want
Action: Hotel Corona or Planet Ikke
When: December 7th onward

[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.
It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.
Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.
In order words: it's a mingle!! Everyone get in! ]

[ the D ]
Still, Erik mentions the spa and Charles finds himself softening at that suggestion. So they make their way down there. ]

He had scoped out the spa a couple of times, and even viewed the hot springs room. The whole thing was artificial, of course, but it hardly mattered. Erik turns to Charles after he collects the room key from the spa attendant.]
They provide swimming clothes and towels in there, so at least it isn't necessary to buy any.

[ He moves his chair forward. ]
Their facilities are quite good.
no subject
I thought so, from what I saw of them. They really do offer almost everything I could think of.
[The massages hadn't escaped his notice, but that seems more of a solo thing. He stops in front of a door that says "Hot Stuff Springs!!" and uses the key to open it.]

[ Charles watches people leave out of the corner of his eye. ]

[They head into the room, and it really is a fake hot spring. The pool in the centre of the room is ringed by artificial rocks, and the opposite wall is a holographic display, cycling between snowy mountains, leafy jungles, and ocean vistas. Towels and swimming trunks are hung against the walls, along with boxes to store their things in.
Erik locks the door behind them, activating the 'occupied' sign.]

[ He beams at the scene in front of them, taking in the sights. ]

[He's stayed in plenty, yes. But it was always en route, in secret, with no time for pointless frivolities like this. Some long dormant part of him still rankles at spending his money on things with no purpose. After the week they've had, though, Erik is prepared to be a little self-involved for once. He may not deserve it, and will think as much later. Now is a different matter.
He moves over behind the changing partition, taking a pair of swim trunks with him.]
I think there's a remote where you can control the images. Or it's just on automatic.
no subject
[ Charles scans for the remote before finding it and flicking through the buttons. Mountains, jungles, cities . . . he finds one lovely sunset. Satisfied, he finally heads for the partition with his own trunks. ]
You've probably traveled a lot more than I have anyway.
no subject
[Having stripped down and put on the trunks, Erik wavers on whether to remove his shirt or not. Eventually he does, ignoring the bloom of bruises along his left side, and pads back out. Seeing the sunset image, he smiles to himself before stepping into the water.]
--it's definitely hot.
no subject
[ He changes first before slipping into his otter form. It's the easiest way to move to the water, slipping in easily before turning back. ]

I wonder what kind of places this hotel has seen.
no subject
Too many, if the selection of theme rooms is anything to go by.
[He's still annoyed at his given room.]

[His tone indicates that he'd rather huff garbage than have to put up with the floral scent being spritzed around so frequently. He opens both eyes and tilts his head at Charles, displeasure written across his features.]
You've seen it, Charles. It's clearly aimed at the kind of person who collects dried flowers and knits tea cosies.
no subject
[ He's bemused at Erik's irritation and doesn't bother hiding it. ]
Why not ask for a change?
no subject
[For now it's only a nuisance, not a real deterrent. Besides, he was given that suite because they had asked for adjacent rooms. He's willing to put up with the lavender monstrosity for a while.]
Do you think yours suits you?

It does seem a bit more appropriate than mine.
