driftfleet | Windrose January Mingle

[Kitty loved the hotel and spent most of her time there, but she actually feels pretty eager to be back on the Windrose when they start drifting again. She has some new things for her room after the holidays like her new bedding and a little shopping for herself too.

She also restocked the kitchen with food as a general crew gift for Hanukkah along with supplying sets of card and table top games to be kept in the cargo bay when not in use. Of course, she might snack on some of it herself or be figuring out the rules to some of those alien games in her spare time.

Winn designed a new uniform for her. It's not exactly like the one she wore with the X-Men, but there is an X on her belt. It's still blue and the top is cut to form the subtle silhouette of a cat's head. But she'll be wearing that occasionally and doing light work outs in the cargo bay when she doesn't feel like making a trip to the Iskaulit.]

(OOC: Not sure how things will shake out after the Jan 13 event or at the next stop, so if you want a specific prompt written later in January just let me know! Otherwise, wildcard away!)

[Kitty is smoothing out the new bedding as she waits for Winn to arrive. Tonight will be the first time they use it. Assuming nothing blows up before then. And it might since she does need to talk to Winn about Robb. She really hoped it could be waved off as no big deal back when she first explained about the drunken teat messages. (Yes, teat.) But they ended up having a fight and then Robb told her he wanted to punch Winn if it happened again and so she scolded Robb and then Robb and Jeyne left his party because of it and Jeyne obviously isn't super excited about any of this and doesn't want there to be a feud. A feud. Seriously. What is her life? She wants to believe telling Winn about it at all was the right thing, but it hasn't been feeling that way. She needs to talk to her guy and see what really happened with that fight.]

[ her guy arrives a few minutes later wearing the shirt tyrion gave him for his birthday and carrying a messenger bag.

he heads straight to her with a smile -- that drops when he catches glimpse of her expression. ]

...who's gone. [ not again, not so soon, come on! ]

[Off to a good start.] What? No one. Everyone's here. [She leans in for a quick kiss.] Cute shirt. [See, she's smiling. It's not with the same amusement she'd normally have for the shirt, but it's there.]

[ he still looks unsure...but ok. ] Tyrion gave it to me. [ do you think he was trying to tell him something? ]

Tyrion is wise. [She traces over the first "winn" with her finger softly. She should probably get to it, huh? Or maybe they could just kiss and cuddle instead?]

[ he's actually a little lost on what to do here, as she traces his name. does he tease, does he hug, does he run out for ice cream? ]

As long as he doesn't spread it around, a fleet of me-clones would probably just cave in on itself.

[Would he bring her ice cream? We shouldn't discount that idea.] That's probably true. There's not enough me to go around since I'm busy being all yours.

[ he'll always bring her ice cream. ]

And I don't like sharing. [ he leans in for a kiss because he's yet to give her a proper kiss hello! ]

She kisses him back with just the slightest hint of hesitation, because those were probably the words she least wanted to hear before this talk. Well, that or "let's never talk about Robb Stark." There's still warmth and affection though.]

[ he pulls back and tilts his head. ]

Okay, what's going on? [ he knows her tells better than he knows his own. so maybe no one they love went missing today but something's definitely upsetting her. is it leaving the hotel? cuz he's pretty bummed about that too, he can totally get that. ]

[It helps that she's terrible at hiding her thoughts and mood. She sits down on the bed, pulling him down with her.] I met Jeyne. Robb's wife.

[ he's easily pulled, and puts the messenger bag down by the bed in the process.

and that is so not where he thought this was heading. ]

Okay - [ not following so far. if he were treating her poorly he expects kitty would have no problem to shove his head into a wall and threaten to leave it there. ]

And before that she and Robb came to your party thinking it was just for the new year. They left when I told him it was for you. So he explained why that could be a problem to her. And it's just become this...thing. [That she is very much in the middle of.] What happened between you?

[ now he's really frowning. really? he groans and leans back, flopping on the bed. ]

I am officially too old for this high school crap. [ yeah, he wasn't on his best behavior when they met. yeah, he used some harsh words at first. but he tried to turn it around, tried to explain it with a kinder tone and from his point of view robb basically did everything but stick his fingers in his ears, stomp his feet and yell 'you're wrong'. ]

I ran into him, he apologized for hitting on you. I tried to explain that wasn't the part he should be feeling bad about and he threw a temper tantrum cuz he decided I'm overreacting and being drunk and lonely is a perfect excuse to being a douche.

[The high school crap comment stings. It feels like he's holding her age against her—a topic she's sensitive about when all she wants to do is work things out that got blown up by people who weren't her! Frowning.]

He was the only one who lost his temper?

[ the comment is aimed at robb. and now he feels like he's been sent to the school counselor. ]

No. [ sulkily. he knows he started it. maybe if he started the conversation calmly it never would have escalated. but he was angry because his girlfriend was treated disrespectfully by a man from a world that has been abusing his adopted little sister okay! that's a much more legitimate reason than...defending...yourself. oh leave him alone with your logic the guy is a douche! ] If you want me to apologize for the way I talked I'll apologize, but I stand behind the content. He shouldn't be apologizing because you have a boyfriend he should be apologizing because that's not how you treat a woman.

I wasn't there, but he apologized to me because that wasn't the right way to treat me. And he apologized a lot and felt terrible. Seriously, a lot. [She was basically begging him to stop apologizing.]

I don't know exactly what was in Robb's head or what he said, but I'm thinking when he apologized to you it was for different reasons because it didn't happen to you.

He's definitely still stuck in some mindsets I'm not a fan of, but he is starting to adapt. It's a lot of culture shock for them. I'm pretty surprised they are handling this as well as they are.

[ okay that is definitely information that would've helped transform that interaction.

he sighs and rubs his eyes. ]

Didn't know that. [ okay. maybe he's the douche then. ] I'll apologize.

[She slips her arms around him and hugs him tightly. She wasn't going to tell him to apologize. She's not the boss of him. She was really only going to ask that he worked on keeping anything further from escalating but that's even better.] I should have updated you on it when he apologized. I just didn't want to make it more of a thing which made it more of a thing.

[ he was fully prepared to keep on avoiding the guy, honestly, he only met him once by accident. but he also definitely didn't think about how it would affect kitty - he's still really not used to this whole him not getting along with someone reflecting on other people thing.

he wraps an arm around her. ]

I shouldn't have lost my temper. [ damn that anger of his, but robb was really good at pushing his buttons, and he was due an explosion. ] I owe you an apology too, I should've thought about the position it put you in. [ well he just feels like shit now. perfect send off from the hotel. ]
