[Crowley has taken to watching the festival. It's the only interesting thing happening, really. So, he has a bottle of whatever is passing for wine in this someone-forsaken hole, and observing everything quietly.

The idiot with the firedancers is especially amusing.]

I doubt they have a good burns ward here, just saying.

[noctiphile]

No need! They'll heal. [He narrowly dodges another swipe of flame.] Maybe.

[With his free foot, he kicks up another, unlit, pole and catches it in his free hand.] There's room for one more.

That's a pretty big maybe.

[He gives a soft scoff.]

Knock yourself out.

[He shrugs and kicks the spare stick away, practicing a spiraling technique with the flames. It goes pretty well! No burns this time.] Why should I be scared of fire? It's not afraid of me.

[Throwing the pole up into the air, he watches the flames windmill before catching it neatly in his hands. He beams at his accomplishment.] Burns won't kill me. They won't even hurt. Not like this.

[Another shrug.] I don't see why I should let something like that stop me.

That's because, by and large, fire isn't sentient. It doesn't feel fear.

[He leans back, amused. ]

Well, then. Don't let me stop you.

You're missing the point.

[Slight annoyance BUT IT'S FINE. He seems equally amused at being watched as Crowley feels watching him.]

Is that it, then? You're just going to sit and stare?

Well, you can only watch so much jousting before it gets old.

So, you watched it for a few seconds, then. It's terribly predictable. They run, they stab, one falls. Almost as dull as a fight.

[Blah blah, more fire-spinning descriptions. He's doing pretty decently now, that's all that matters.]

I've seen it a hundred times before, back when it was actually a thing. Never found it that entertaining back then, either.

[He'll continue watching in some vague sort of amusement. ]

[The staff trips from his hands.]

Centuries? [He catches it just before it strikes his toes, sighing in relief.] You must be joking.

Not at all. A century is nothing, to me.

[He gives a wry smirk. ]

Not everyone on the fleet is mortal, you know.

As I'm slowly becoming more aware.

[He stills, the flaming staff crackling impatiently in his hands.]

What are you, then? Is it rude of me to ask?

[onlyanapple]

A demon.

[A pause, and because he's done this dance a million times already. ]

And before you ask, no, I'm not interested in destroying your soul, or eating your heart, or claiming your firstborn or any other of that ridiculous propaganda.

Alright.

[Stomping the fire out from the staff, he starts twirling it again, albeit slowly. Just in case there's any more surprises.] Then what are you interested in?

Mostly? Getting drunk and watching the world spin.

Does the spinning come naturally or with the drinking?

[onlyanapple]

...The world spins by itself. Science, and all that.
