[The hits keep on coming. The ship was dwindling back to what it had been before the fusion collision. She knew some of them better than others. She knew practically nothing about Lancer, but Ravi had quickly become a very close friend.

Kitty is sitting in the kitchen, poking at some beets she got from the asteroids, not entirely sure what to do with beets in their raw form to get them to the point where she wants to eat them. She hears someone come in and without looking up, she speaks.] Does it ever feel like the Windrose is quietly eating the Three Twins?

[Or, you know, any other prompt you'd like around the ship. And if you're new this is one of your co-captains. If you're not new then she's still one of your co-captains. She's also easy to find reading in the pilot's seat, checking over systems, walking on the air to water the hanging plants in the cargo bay or exercising on the equipment in there.]

[ Summer is here to nab a deck of cards from a recently departed passenger. She is not prepared for what she finds.

When there's a break in the performance, she applauds. ]

[It's a sound that had him freeze. He'd found his way out of the Marsiva, he'd hoped, as this was a new ship interior, or at least a brand new hall.

His defensive stance lowered when Castle rounded a corner into view. Shovel Knight... needed a minute. This man was the strangest bard he'd ever encountered.]

...Are you well?

[ Yoink. Summer grabs a familiar deck of cards from a drawer. She and Wolfe had played a few games with this deck, something he'd had custom made. Strip Wicked Grace had been a particularly favorite night.

People come and go. Anders had come and gone a long time ago, and then again more recently. He'd gone with less of a bang this last time. Summer had decided long ago that she didn't get attached to people for that reason.

So when she stood in the center of Wolfe's room, she definitely not basking in whatever lasting presence still existed. She wasn't going over memories of their brief frienship, of the time they plunged into the depths of a water planet with a dragon on their tale together.

She was just looking for anything she wanted to keep, like this deck of cards.

That's all. ]

[A kitchen, how odd... was this still the Marsiva? He couldn't be sure any more. He'd never felt so relieved to see something new from the last few days scrambling for exits that seemed not to exist. But the question had him still, unsure. When the Enchantress addressed him, it was definitely at him. This time...]

Forgive me, friend, but I may not be the one you intended to speak to. I seek a way off the Marsiva but I seem to have taken a wrong turn.

[Oh, sure, it's the kitchen that's odd here. She turns to the unfamiliar voice.] You're right about the first part. As for the second, you're not on the Marsiva.

[What the hell did he just walk in on? Maybe this ship had an entertainer? That must be it. Or no, maybe this guy is drunk, and he needed to share the goods. There's only one way to find out.

It's like a train wreck that you just can't stop looking at no matter how bad it is. Still, he waits for this man to be, uh, done, to some degree.]

I usually don't see this sort of thing unless everyone is at least slightly intoxicated.

[When finding yourself somewhere new, you have to check out the kitchen. It was just something you do, especially when you're someone who likes taking pleasure in food and wine, and pairing them together. Whether or not he could do that now didn't matter; it was something to look forward to doing in the future.

Hearing Kitty's question took him by surprise.]

Do you usually ask difficult questions before introductions?

[Another new arrival? What are the odds? The Atroma deplete their ship just to fill it back up?]

As often as possible. There may also be a quiz. [She turns her head to look him over.] Visiting someone or did you arrive with pudding and confetti?

[A quiz, huh? He can play along with that too. Chuuya makes his way over to get a better look at what she's doing.]

There may have been pudding and confetti involved. That's on your portion of the quiz.

[Vash may be a bit upset to have seen all of his old crew go. Mostly because they actually don't know for sure if those who leave actually go home or not.

But was he going to let those worries show to his new crew? Not a chance. Vash is nothing but smiles as he seeks out the new members to welcome.] HEY THERE! Welcome aboard the Twin Roses! [Hopefully a rather hyper, 5'10 tall (not counting the gravity denying hair), man dressed in a red, leather duster who is coming up to shake your hand isn't too much to take in.] I'm Vash! One of the captains here! Great to meet you!

[If that's too much "in your face" Vash will also be found in the plant room. Just because Anders has gone doesn't mean he's going to let the garden die. Making sure they have plenty of water and tending to as is needed for them.

Or you may find him in the pilot's area. Updating the maps and books he's been trying to keep relating to the places the fleet has visited since the start of this cycle.]

Yup. [He answers with a slight chuckle.] I taste awful with hollandaise sauce so make sure you just use regular gravy. No fancy stuff.

Hey, I thought you might want those. [Speaking of the cards.] I'm glad you came to get them.

[Vash just starts LAUGHING. Laughing long and hard. It really is mostly the outfit, but the signing is great too.]

Ah, Vash, right?

[ She didn't start, she was too aware to get so easily surprised. ]

That's right. I believe it was Summer?

...yeah.

[ Took her a moment. The name was still new, and it still hadn't quite stuck. She glanced at the deck of cards in her hand. ]

No, actually. It's Grace. [ Wicked Grace. ]

[ She stowed the deck in her bag. ]

Did you know them very well?

Oh. Sorry, Grace. [Like the cards she just put in her bag. Interesting, but he puts it more towards coincidence.]

They were part of my crew. I wouldn't say I knew them better than anyone, but we were pretty close. I'm glad to have gotten to know them.

[ they weren't kidding about that confetti thrown in his face. one second he was sitting on his cot on the marsiva's hospitality deck, playing tic-tac-toe with himself, and the next - he's standing somewhere else entirely and the blasted thing is everywhere! he blows his nose, and colorful bits of paper fly off in a huff. ]

Bloody hell, ever heard of a warning! [ can we say he's been magiced off to enough locations now?! goddammit! he has legs, let him use them!

once he gets the blasted confetti out of his hair - which, fortunately, isn't all that difficult - lance will proceed to explore his new surroundings. no unlocked door is safe! the armory and kitchen both get special attention from him. you bet your ass he's going to be packing heat from now on, and once he finds the real food supply, you may be lured into the kitchen by the tasty scent of stew. sorry, was he supposed to ask first? consider name labels next time. he's happy to share the finished product, though. only fair. ]

[ Generic and polite. Neither things that Grace was particularly fond of.

She moved to push past Vash. ]

I should be going, then.

My portion, huh? [She raise an eyebrow but otherwise looks amused.]

I'm Kitty Pryde, one of the co-captains for the ship.

[She smiles.] I'm surprised you're not walking around with a flak vest or something on at this point. [She turns toward him, looking a little concerned around the eyes.] How are you doing? [It's hard losing those people from her position. They were already becoming crew and family to her, but if it had been everyone from the Windrose instead? She doesn't even want to imagine it.]

[Castle turns and offers a bow.]

I try to be kind to my cleaning bots. That way, when the machines take over, I have a better chance at surviving.

[Castle was momentarily stunned into silence by the appearance of the little knight, but he recovered quickly.]

Never better, friend. The sponsors sent me all sorts of stuff to dress up with, so I'm practicing singing in the hopes that I can become famous on the asteroids below. The natives here love music, you see.
