[Anyone on the Caprine can probably hear when Doudanuki wakes up because he does so by yelling loudly as he jumps out of bed. He can't remember the last time he was awake and that concerns him - a lot.

So fellow Capriners will probably hear him as he thunders around checking on people or trying to figure out why the hell he was unconscious for an entire month. How he greets them depends on whether he knows them yet or not:

[Later, after he realizes that comas are just things that happen because why not? This place is insane enough already.

And then he's at the comms station and notices something weird.]

What happened to that other ship? What the hell did you guys do while I was asleep??

It was a special event Atroma hosted. [She feels no shame.]

The ship was eaten by the Marsiva, and the crew vanished. Maybe they were left in the previous system, it's hard to say.

Pfft, a ship can't eat another ship. It doesn't have a mouth.

It does have cargo bay doors bigger than these ships.

[Even if it did literally eat the other one...]

As for the ship, it was...eaten, I believe. By the Marsiva.

S'what Fie said, too. No crew was seen though. You hear about what happened to them?

From what I understand, they had all transferred onto other sips. It was empty when it...got eaten. Which is quite a sight to see.

[Wow, he hopes it doesn't eat the rest of them. That would suuuuuck. ]

[He grunts in distaste at that number - way longer than he thought and more than he'd wanted.] Yeah, noticed that there were new lights down below.

[But not 100% certain he wants to go down there yet. Although he's relieved to hear the crew didn't just up and vanish. Transferring to a diferent ship isn't so bad at all.]

Fie said it got crunched in half by the docking bay doors. Did someone make the Marsiva mad?

So this "eaten" thing seems to be the consensus. [Good to know that the ships can come alive and eat each other. How reassuring.]

[Peebee is in her lab, surrounded by scrap and wires and tools, a screwdriver held between her teeth while she tries to wrangle a couple pieces together on the growing mass of metal she's currently working on. She turns her head to look at Doudanuki as he speaks, then pauses to move the screwdriver to a hand and give him a wave with it.]

Peebee, Caprine's new lab tech! And you are ... ?

[Huh, one of the newbies.

And she's blue? He blinks for a moment at the array of wires and tools and scrap around her.

Definitely blue.]

Doudanuki Masakuni, the war sword.

And Caprine's communications officer.

[He's so good at his job, can't you see?]

Been in a coma for over a month. When'd you come in?

[Peebee shrugs, and goes back to working on her project while talking to him.] I dunno. Yesterday? Last month? The days are already starting to blend together.

[She seems to come to a good stopping point and sets her tools down, grabbing a rag and wiping the grease off her hands as she stands and turns towards him.]

[She's grinning widely.] The big question is ... what baddass things can you do with a title like 'The War Sword'. That is so cool!

[Yesterday and last month are preeeetty different there, Peebee. That said, he can forgive her for not being completely certain.

But the way she grins at him causes him to take a step back and raise an eyebrow.]

Uh, I'm a sword, so whatever a sword can do. I fight and I've fought in a lot of wars, both as a weapon and in this human body.

[Is that cool though? He just figures it's his purpose.]

It happens from what I've heard though. You just go to sleep and wake up later, sometimes with new memories, sometimes just groggy as--- heck.

Nah, I just got to waste a lotta time by sleepin'. Annoying as hell.

So my sleepin' didn't even serve a purpose.
