Who: Everyone
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Lato'li's orbit and also planetside.
When: Forward dated to 11/15.
[The Interceptor Fleet moves into position, waiting for the last few shield generators to fall. And in the early hours of the 15th, they do. The shield dissolves with a blip as if it was never there, leaving the man-eaters as prone as their prey. The Interceptors send out a transmission-- an unholy mix of Cockney and Australian that graces every available communicator-- if they answer it.]
We’re firin’! Do yer worst, Vieziri! We’re gonna kick yer sorry arses so hard you’ll kiss the moons!
[Five Interceptor ships swoop out of the dark and unload their various weaponry onto the Vieziri warships. At the same time, people stranded on the planet below ready the anti-aircraft guns onto their makers. And of course there is the Fleet itself, battered and yet beautiful across the velvet sky, as they fire everything they have.
Now the Vieziri start moving. Though the big red ship can’t do much maneuvering, the rest of the Vieziri warships certainly can. They fire back at the Interceptors and whoever else fires at them, willing to defend their leader and lose their lives in the process.
Luckily, the Interceptors have their own daring ships, which may look familiar to those who were here for the raider attack. One is emblazoned with racing stripes and flames all along the hull, and it moves so fast it nearly enters hyperspace. It’s there and gone in a flash, weaving past the enemy in crazy thrillseeking loops. Still another Interceptor ship is painted red and orange with a gold plate near the front, which reads BAMF with no explanation. This one has guns aplenty and easily weathers any duel it gets into. The third Interceptor ship is beautiful gold and black, sleek as hell and engineered with sense; this one packs the most gadgets and formidable guns of all calibers, and appears to do the most damage. Trailing behind is a much smaller ship, so nondescript it almost doesn’t stand out at all-- that is, until it forms a barrier to absorb some oncoming fire and reflect it back at the Vieziri.
There’s one ship that’s missing, though-- the one that was blown up several months ago after the heist. In its place is a small black ship that runs invisible to radar, sweeping past with silent speed as it lets loose a barrage of photon missiles onto the Vieziri flagship.
Down below, the Vieziri come out in full force-- one last stand before the warlord falls, trying to finish their fell rituals. Some of them rush the encampments, some go for the cities. Near the restored comms tower, a cloaked figure with a plain white mask fights their way through the onslaught using a plasma blade and a laser rifle.
After an hours-long siege, the big warship finally takes too much fire and breaks apart, lighting up the sky with falling shards like stars. The biggest debris burns up in orbit, but little pieces still rain down. It signals the end as the Vieziri begin to retreat both on ground and in the air. The loss of their leadership leaves them scattered and panicked.
The Fleet has won the day, but as the sun rises again over the wreckage, there is still plenty of work to be done.]
[ooc: Feel free to assume the Interceptors are helping your ships! The gold and black ship can be hailed and will give responses, as she’s been the main point of contact during this plot. You can also run into Zhade, though tags will be slow for both accounting for RL things. Please mark Zhade or Interceptors in the header of your toplevel if you’d like NPC interaction.
Any questions should be asked on the plot post for phase two.]

[And since he isn't ready to ask questions about why Justice knows so much about their enemies, Alistair leaves it. Especially since the shooting starts almost immediately and he isn't in very thick armor.
Sweet Andraste why did they take his full body armor? And his shield? And his father's sword? The shield would be great right about now, actually.]
How far out do you think they are from our current position?
no subject
[...The tree they're hiding behind is going to fall and crush them if the gun keeps up like this. Justice grabs a rock from the ground on impulse and throws it off to the side.
The gun swings, aiming for the bolt of movement and leaving their tree alone for the moment. But now another tree is probably going to fall down at this rate--hopefully not so close to them.]
no subject
[Someone forgot to clue him in on the spirit that's been running around in the dead body. It would've been nice...
Alistair watches the way that the gunfire switches and frowns.]
We are sitting ducks here. We either need better cover or a way to attack and soon. Do you have any other plans that don't include throwing rocks?
no subject
Yes, I do. [Justice looks up at the tree above them. Yes, it's tall and sturdy, but thoroughly shredded around torso height. It will easily fall.
The Gatling gun can't work forever. It will overheat. Justice holds up his hand for the human to see, silently counting his fingers for each second. Three... two... one...
The bullets stop abruptly. They're checking over the wall to see if they killed everyone. The weapon is out of commission for a few precious seconds.]
Stand and help me push the tree.
[Justice gets to his feet and presses his hands over the shredded portion of the tree, pushing it in the direction of the camp. Already, the trunk groans, wood splintering along the shredded portion.
The tree is tall and thick enough to destroy the Vieziri walls and the gun if it falls on the camp. They just need to push it down before the Gatling gun cools down.]
no subject
He looks up at where the other... man is counting down and waits. Blessed silence, like a gift from the Maker himself. And it doesn't take him long to cotton on to what Justice has in mind. He's only too happy to lend his strength in pushing the damaged tree as best he can without overly straining himself.]
Sweet Andraste let this work.
no subject
Justice shields himself from the spray of wood as the trunk topples. The Vieziri scream. The tree crashes through the wall of the camp, and the thoughts Justice was listening to about the Gatling gun abruptly go silent.]
We hit the gun. Go. [Justice sweeps the area with suppressing fire, forcing scrambling Vieziri to stay behind cover rather than run to meet them as he runs towards the hole they made in the camp's defenses.]
no subject
[If that sounds like someone you know, Justice, well.... Alistair knew him first. And, it couldn't happen to nicer people either. These people attacked innocents. In his mind, they were no better than the undead or the Darkspawn he'd fought back home.
As it is, he follows closely behind Justice, as they head into the camp, swords drawn and ready for some action.]
I suppose it would be prudent to stay together right now. Don't get hurt.
no subject
You as well. Do not get injured.
[Justice does not want to bring Riona's husband back to her wounded. Somehow, he doesn't think she would be too happy about that.
Justice has a gun and a machete. The Vieziri swarm to compensate for their destroyed wall as those from the Fleet attack, and Justice fires of sprays of burning ray blasts to take out chunks of the Vieziri forces, keeping an eye out for the Vieziri that are armed with guns themselves. If they don't have any more powerful weapons like the gun they just destroyed, they may get out of this mostly unscathed.]
no subject
Trust me. I don't plan on getting hurt. It's bad enough you already had to rescue me once since I arrived.
[Look, don't remind him of his wife's temper. He was there when she killed the Archdemon. He's just a simple human.
While Justice is picking off those with his ranged weapons, Alistair is busy making sure that none get too close to either him or the other "man". It works. Sort of like working with Leliana, who was rather fond and skilled with her bows.]
If we keep this up, we'll be back to the ships by the time dinner's served.
no subject
That would be ideal, yes. [Well, Justice doesn't actually care about meal times, but he's sure that the human does.] Do you see any other large guns near the walls? [Justice doesn't, but his eyes are pretty fixed on top of the walls, where gunmen are trying to pick them off from the high ground.]
no subject
Ideal, possibly. [He ducks under the arm of one of his attackers and kicks them in the stomach as hard as he can.] I haven't been able to check. Little busy, sadly.
no subject
Very well. I will warn you if I hear anything about another gun like that.
[Though it is harder to hear things in a fight. Usually, the sum of a fighter’s thoughts in the middle of a battle is screaming.]
no subject
Do you, by chance, have another one of those at hand?
[He'd work on his long-range skills if it meant being able to defend himself better.]
no subject
[And luckily, they are easy enough to use that Justice thinks that the human could plausibly figure it out in the middle of a battle. Justice keeps firing from one hand as he pulls a spare gun from its holster, switching off the safety as he offers it to Alistair.]
The metal trigger is the means of firing. It is much more powerful than a crossbow. [So please don’t shoot yourself in the foot by accident because then Riona will be mad.]
no subject
Considering the way that it almost incinerated that enemy you just shot in the face, I should say so.
I suppose it's good that I have medical treatment knowledge that is a gift from our kidnappers.
[THE ONLY UPSIDE?!]
no subject
[Justice sprays gunfire along the Vieziri, keeping them away from melee range and picking off the ones that haven't found cover in time.]
How does the battle appear from your side? [The Vieziri are still coming in strong, but manageable from Justice's side, and the battle seems to be steadily tipping in their favor now that the Vieziri have lost their walls and Gatling gun.]
