[For all the worrying Lance was doing, Keith wasn't exactly pulling away. In fact, he was comfortably snuggled right up against Lance, lightly tracing lazy abstract patterns across his chest with a finger.]
I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm glad you like it. I'm just not used to people not thinking it's weird or unusual or whatever.
[Or alien.
Keith sighed, pushing that thought down. The whole part-Galra thing was turning out to be sort of a good thing, right? Because he was still useful even with not being a Paladin. He could work with the Blade of Marmora. That counted for something.
So, yeah... he could make himself be okay with it. He'd already used it against Zarkon by being able to get into the ship and help Thace shut down the system so Pidge could dump that virus. It could help the mission because he could do things with it.
He just had to keep telling himself that.
Keith pulled Lance tighter, giving him a good squeeze.]
Thanks... for not thinking it's weird.

[He can't help but tease, because that's them. That's comfortable, something that never changes.
Lance is still afraid he's going to keep messing things up, put Keith in a bad state of mind when he should be otherwise happy. But all he can do is try to make up for when he does, he supposes. He tilts Keith's head up for another kiss, this one longer and deeper.]
You're perfect to me, okay? And I've still got about 50 minutes to make you feel just how perfect I think you are.
[He runs his hands up and down his back again, avoiding the spot that made Keith tense up, as he kisses him deeply once more.]
no subject
He listened again once they pulled back, giving Lance a small smile in return before pulling him in for that second kiss.
This was definitely worth coming to the room early for. The race would have been fun, but this was good on a different level. His fingers played a little with the ends of Lance's hair, and Keith couldn't help the small smile that formed as a thought came to him.]
Are you growing a mullet? It's feeling a little long back here.
no subject
[He doesn't want to be groaning out of frustration. He wants to be groaning out of other things!]
no subject
[But Keith definitely looked amused, giving a playful tug at the strands he had hold of.]
Turnabout's fair play.
[And he leaned in and kissed Lance again.]
no subject
Of course, he knows he can't keep Keith down if he really fought him, so he leans down and swipes his tongue against the side of his neck to distract him some more.]
's not fair how good you taste, too.
no subject
As it was, he did catch Keith completely off guard, which made it easy to flip him onto his back on the bed. There was an initial moment of panic as some buried flight or fight response tried to take over, but Keith caught himself before he rolled Lance off the bed in self-defense.
Down time had been scarce and far between back home, and it had taken a bit of a toll on Keith's sense of what was potentially dangerous and what wasn't.
That said, Lance breezily continuing their make-out session helped in keeping himself from reacting too strongly to the flip, and he shivered a bit as he felt his boyfriend's tongue trace a line along his neck like that.]
Hey...
[His protest was weak, though.]
I probably taste like marshmallow still...
[Weird alien snow...]

[The two of them don't leave the bed until they have to actually get decent for dinner. So one nice, mega heavy makeout session later, Lance is finally feeling like he's ready to leave the room (for now--they'll be back later, he reminds himself!). He's all smiles, though, still a little flushed from said makeout session, but in great spirits.]
Okay, you lead the way to the restaurant, cause I have no idea where I'm going. And my brain's still not back to full speed, anyway.
no subject
It had been good. There had been kissing... lots of kissing. Some heavy petting stuff. Cuddling. Overall, a good way to spend almost an hour of downtime with one's significant other while on a date and in a hotel room.
Once they'd cleaned up a bit and gotten themselves back together, it was just about time to head over for dinner. Keith stared at Lance for a second at the comment. Did he just...? WHAT AN OPENING. Keith found himself struggling not to quip back. He walked up behind him, putting his hands on Lance's waist and...
nope.
He couldn't do it.]
Sometimes I wonder if it's ever full speed. Maybe I'm too distracting?
[He kissed the back of Lance's neck to make his point.]
no subject
You are. And if you keep that up, I'm gonna say to heck with dinner, back to bed, and we're going to have a nice discussion about the necessity of pants.
no subject
You're not a mermaid, Lance.Keith chuckled, giving one more kiss for good measure and as a lingering reminder of what was coming after dinner, then released Lance from his hold. He then took his hand before heading out.]
Well, it's a good thing I made a reservation, then.
[He made sure the door shut behind them as they headed out.]
I THOUGHT I RESPONDED OMG why me
He is in his dreams. It really is kind of difficult to leave the hotel room, but he is hungry for actual food and thirsty in a literal sense, so dinner is fine right now. He tangles their fingers together, holding Keith's hand close in his.]
Crash aside, this is already an awesome date so far. Seriously...thanks, Keith.
'sokay
I'm glad. I was a little nervous, to be honest. It's been some time since I've really dated anyone.
[Like... since before the Kerberos crew went missing and he got snappy with people and then got kicked out and hermitted himself in the desert for almost a year... like that long.]
no subject
[He leans in, kissing Keith's cheek.]
no subject
Well, you get the next one, okay?
[He squeezed Lance's hand again as they stepped outside.]
I hope you like the restaurant I picked.
no subject
[He gives him a wink.]
I'll eat pretty much anything, so no problems there. I'm sure I'll love it.
no subject
And then... oh good. Anything.]
Yeah, I can't compete with Hunk on picking the perfect meal, but I'd like to think I can try to do at least fairly decently at it.
no subject
[Because he's gonna be trying darn hard. Super, super darn hard.]
C'mon, then. Let's chow down.
no subject
It wasn't far to the restaurant, and, because they had the reservation, they didn't wait long at all to get seated. Before the hostess left, Keith caught her attention and whispered something to her, which she nodded about, and then he sat down as she walked away.]
I heard this place is pretty good. It had some good reviews.
[He opened his menu, totally pretending like he didn't just have a secret conversation with the staff.]
no subject
Hoo boy... It's gonna be tough picking something out. I don't know what half these things are, but they sound good anyway.
no subject
[He recognized some of the names of the items from the reviews, though.]
I heard this was good when I was looking the place up. [He pointed out something that was like a shrimp dish, he supposed. Small prawn seafood things over what looked like a grain similar to rice.]
no subject
[He smiles. Part of him still can't believe he's having a nice romantic dinner with Keith, the part of him that's still surprised they're actually dating. Not a bad surprised, of course, but just...unexpected.]
no subject
[Keith debated just getting the same thing, but then there had been something else he'd seen on the reviews, so he thought maybe getting the other dish and they could try both.]
What about this one, too? [He showed Lance something that looked like a poultry dish with citrus dressing.] Seems like it might be lemon chicken or something. We can share.
no subject
[Sharing dishes. So romantic! You're doing a great job at this date thing, Keith.]
no subject
Aaaaaaand this was where Keith was terrible company. He just didn't do small talk. He did, however, reach across the table and take Lance's hand in his own.]
