[The street is quiet, somewhat deserted, aside from the synthetic whirr of a roaming robot zipping its way along the sidewalk. Just minding its own business, innocently working away, until...
...BAM. A blast of energy snipes into what functions as a "head" with startling precision, and the droid rolls to a shuddering stop, short-circuited. A moment of silence passes, and then Messer climbs out of the window of a nearby house, checks around for any danger, and hops down off the roof. He ignores anyone around who isn't clearly a threat and drags the droid into the house like a body he's going to hide.
If followed, those venturing close can see him pull a set of tools from his belt, immediately knocking the bot over and beginning the slow, methodical process of pilfering the parts within the empty home. There's a motor bike with a hitched cart tucked out of the street in the front hall with him, already half-full of parts. Someone's been busy with his assassinations!]
( b. forty minutes or it's free. )
[Once he's satisfied with his bot looting, Messer's driving through the street with the same bike and cart combo, but this time it's full of random supplies, foodstuffs, random bags of clothes or linens- whatever he could find. It's all very utilitarian, nothing luxury, and he doesn't look happy to be doing what he's doing, but he's been outranked and so far nothing appears to have poisoned someone or blown up... yet.
As he passes you by, he slows down, stops, looks you over- then reaches back and grabs something from his collection, handing it over.]
Take this. You'll find a use for it.
[Maybe it's food, because you look thin! Maybe it's tech, because you're a nerd! Maybe it's a coat for your bare-armed ass. It's chilly today, geez. Regardless of the reason (and he offers none up front) Messer is your
friendlyneighbourhood delivery man. He's very courteous, if to the point. No need to tip.]( c. eh, be creative. )
[When he's not being a delinquent or a public servant, Messer is lurking around near where the ships or shuttles have docked, or sometimes further in town- watching you, watching anybody, watching the world. Straight up creepin'.
Bug him wherever!]
b.
Maybe it's a coat for your bare-armed ass.'scuse you.Walking the opposite direction with an apple stuck in his mouth, Prompto doesn't expect an encounter, or to be handed ... a jacket?]
Oh. Um, thank you, but I've already got one.
[He indicates his outer layer, his very sleeveless jacket.]
no subject
He knows you. Messer's already judging- from the wildness of the outfit to the planet food he's so brazenly eating, and yes, even to the sleeves he's so obviously lacking. The whole ensemble screams of youth and whimsy. Is that her taste, then?
His gaze doesn't leave Prompto's, stern and unreadable. ]
That's a vest. This is a jacket.
[LEARN THE DIFFERENCE, FOOL
BE WARM AND HEALTHY]
no subject
He stares back, unconcerned, smile crooked.]
I guess so. But I'm fine, dude. Save it for someone who needs it more.
no subject
Don't be absurd. There's no shortage of supplies, and they replenish themselves daily.
[Besides who would need a jacket more than someone with no jacket. Makes zero sense.]
no subject
Still. Shouldn’t take something if you don’t need it. Really, thank you, but I’m cool.
[Smile some more?]

Cloud stops and goggles, probably also has a few heart palpitations because that is a sick looking machine and it's not even that great. In fact, it is so Cool that Cloud's just gonna jog right over to the guy.] Hey, hey you! Guy! Where'd you find that bike?
no subject
Restaurant a few miles from here. It's for food delivery.
[In fact there's even a little pizza logo plastered across the back. Very... cool...?]

no subject
I saw a few. I can't guarantee that they work.
[Also they were uglier which is why he didn't take them. Sorry not sorry.]

He really hopes this isn't some violent criminal type...! But then, they gotta be from the fleet, right? Unless maybe there's a crazy person here who is the last person on the whole planet. Which means they'd probably be bonkers bananas...!
He pokes half his head up in the window, watching with a curious eye.]
Hey! Whatcha' up to?
[What an intimidating foe.]
no subject
Dismantling the bot for parts. You can come in and see if you want.
no subject
I do wanna see...!
[A bot, huh. He crouches a teeny bit to look at it, eyes rounded.]
I've seen robot spiders before; those are way worse. But not as loud!
no subject
Have you heard the noise they make if you try to steal them whole, then?
[His ears were ringing for like an hour.]
no subject
[He looks a little sad at the robot, though. As much as they freak him out sometimes, these little guys are just doing their best.]
What're you gonna use them for?

[It's early afternoon, and Kaname's found him at the outskirts of the shipping district about to take off on his new vehicle of choice to do who knows what. She's got a tote bag with her, smile on her face as usual. She jogs over to him.]
Hey, what are your plans today?
no subject
w h yHe tilts down the accelerator for the bike, dropping it to a low purr so he can hear her better.]
Another supply run, and checking the town for any changes. The smallest clue could mean anything.
[He's still suspicious as hell of this place, of course, but the longer he's here the more he's noticing how little the fleet has to offer as when it comes to certain amenities.]
no subject
That's true. I was going to do some shopping, and I wanted to see if you'd join me. [Kaname adjusts her bag. It's larger than normal for that reason.]
Maybe later, then?
no subject
oh no
don't make that face oh no
He shifts uncomfortably on the bike, his gaze flitting from her, to the bag, and then to the open road. Fuck.]
I have no set schedule. I can drive you there, if you like.
no subject
[Her smile's recovered now, and she's back to basically normal. Don't worry!]
I'll keep an eye out for anything that you might like, okay? Let me know when you've got time, maybe we can have dinner.

He slows when he finds Messer in the middle of the street and no sign of active combat ongoing, though his training still has his every nerve ready for trouble at a moment's notice.]
Everything okay over here? [He approaches cautiously]
no subject
It's fine. The shot was intentional.
no subject
I would hope so. That looks like a clean hit. Did it give you any trouble?
no subject
They're not difficult to hit, and they have no weapons as far as I can tell. A simple target.
