Broadcast: Yeah, sure, I guess
Action: The Fleet and the Yadrolla System
When: 4/29 - 6/8
[Hey, hey, look, we have a new system! Let's go compete in stuff and root for sportsball teams! System info is here!

Sokka | OTA
[On occasion, the Fleet find itself with a cause Sokka can get behind, and, of course, he puts his whole self into it. Heart and soul. The Waves is absolutely one of those causes. Sokka has bought a lot of Waves memorabilia, and is decked out in it with the utmost pride. It's not Water Tribe, but it's close enough.
He can be found preforming various water sports, making really
crappyabsract art and at one point trying is hand in a bake-off and baking a very questionable 'cake'. ]Hunting/Fishing
[Hunting is one thing Sokka doesn't do for sport, or for competition. It's an important part of getting food, and making sure his ship have enough meat for however long it will take to find fresh game again. As always, he welcomes anyone who wants to come along, and is always willing to teach someone else how to hunt and fish, if they ask him. He can be found tracking game on foot with his spear, or making holes in the ice to get fish the Water Tribe way. ]
A whole new meaning to the phrase 'fight for her hand'
[Sokka has spent months preparing for this. He's trained with some of the toughest people he knows- people who could absolutely grind him to paste if they so wanted to, which is exactly the level he's looking for. He's not sure if he'll actually win this, but Looma assured him he can have multiple tries- and he can use whatever happens as a learning curve. Figure her out a bit better, learn to fight smarter.
He purposefully picked the snowy terrain. It's where he fights best, where he's naturally attuned and also, a little selfishly, he knows Looma hates the snow and ice. It's a chance to get a very, very small advantage against her. So, he's laid down his challenge, and is now waiting for her to show up. Maybe you're one of his friends or family he cheerfully told he was diving into danger today- or maybe you're just a passerby, stopping to watch what's going on. Either way, an ancient Tetramand custom is about to go underway. Enjoy watching Sokka get the snot kicked out of him by his (one day) Lady Love. ]
[ go fish! ]
Of course now she actually understood how to bend, so she'd only get him wet on purpose. And also she didn't need a spear to stab the fish, or a knife to cut the ice.
Which meant that it wasn't long before she was bending out her first fish of the day, a satisfied smile on her lips. ] Got one.
[ And it was a beaut, too. ]
no subject
It's not a competition. [Yes. Yes it is. She just made it one. ] Besides, using waterbending is cheating.

But you get an easy catch like that. You're literally scooping the fish up. It's not really waiting patiently for the fish to be in line and using your hunting skills to catch it.
And it can still be cheating if it's not a competition. My way just requires skill and patience.
[Sokka, no. ]

If looking just a little displeased.]
You would choose such miserable conditions...
[SCREW YOU AND SCREW YOUR WEIRD FONDNESS FOR FREEZING TEMPERATURES, BUDDY]
(badaaaadaduuuh)
Probably.]
Miserable for you, perfect battleground for me.

[Honestly if it sounds like pre-match trash talk to Sokka, that's because it kind of is. If that Starstriker's insignia she's wearing over her armor is any indication, anyway.
She may or may not have convinced them to make marriage a sport here and she's gotta win one for her favorite team. Plus she wins even if she loses, so honestly this behavior should have really been expected.]
Prepare yourself, human!
[Honestly he could probably just accept the fact she offered any warning at all as a sign of just how much she favors him. Anyone else? They probably wouldn't get one.
Not that it translates to giving him time to prepare though, she's already leaping straight for him with that warhammer held high overhead.]
no subject
I wouldn't expect any different~
[And then she's leaping at him. He has just enough time to wonder at his life choices, before he has to do a quick roll to the side to avoid getting snacked in the skull with a warhammer. He lands on his feet, pulling out his sword with a laugh. ]
Consider me prepared.

Since I don't think he ever actually told her about the meteor sword >> ...
ohohohoho
Team Spirit!
[Unfortunately, the time he manages to catch Sokka is during the baking competition. Morgan is no master of cooking, but he doesn't need to be to tell when it's done poorly.]
That's an...interesting looking cake.
[He's trying to stay as positive as he can, he's sure a lot of work went into it, but he's not sure what else he can come up with that doesn't involve outright lying.]
no subject
I know right? It's the most unique one here.
no subject
[Or anyone giving it an award. But he's not going to say that. Positivity!]
How does it taste?
no subject
[Oh, you FOOL, Morgan. Sokka grins, taking out a 'slice', slopping it onto a plate, offering it out. ]
Here, try for yourself!

fight for her hand.
He's standing off to the side, in his usual sleeveless armor despite the snow. Apparently this isn't a concern for him. Arms crossed, he watches Sokka get prepared.]
At least there aren't any walls you can be thrown into.
[There was a not-insignificant amount of that when it came to their own training sessions.]
no subject
Yeah, funny thing, if you get thrown into enough of them you end up not really digging the whole wall plan.
[He grins, stamping a foot on the ground to test it. ]
Besides, this is like my home turf, I've got an advantage here. ...Also she hates the cold. Making her mad probably won't help, but you never know, it might make her sloppy.
no subject
[Or a massive collection of bruises. Thor does tilt his head at that, surprised to hear the reasoning behind the field.]
Let's hope she isn't too enraged just from that.
no subject
[Definitely the bruising thing. ]
Fingers crossed! Besides, if it gets tough, I'll move onto the ice, she can't swing her hammer as much then, unless she wants to dump herself into the drink.

She's a worried about Sokka's health, though perhaps not as much as he thinks. She's got a lot of confidence in his skills as a warrior, and she's pretty sure that Looma actually really likes him. So this isn't a death match, and if things get out of hand there is more than enough snow around here for her to stop it if it becomes necessary. She's carrying a medical bag that she's assembled with her, and she stands a bit at a distance. For once, it doesn't look like she's interested in talking; she's tense as piano wire, for however neutral an expression she's managed to warp her face into. ]
no subject
There is an element of curiosity in seeing just what Looma is made of, too.
He gives her space for a few minutes, before stepping over to her while Sokka and Looma get into position.]

Fight for her hand
Soooo... who are you fighting?
[Aang can cheerfully walk through the ice and snow in slippers and a basic handmade approximation of his Air Nomad outfit from home. Having his airbending back means he gets to regulate his body's temperature again, and he's absolutely taking advantage of it.]
no subject
Looma Red Wind, she's a princess from another planet. Her people battle to be allowed to uh...date one another. So. It's a thing. That I'm doing. Because I like her.
[He almost stops at that, then no, adds more. ]
...Also to prepare you she's absolutely giant and absolutely has four arms. Cool, right?
no subject
Wait, wait. [Aang holds up a hand.] You have to fight her to go on a date? Why would you fight someone you want to date?
[Yeah, that's the weird part for him. Giant people with four arms seems relatively tame, considering all the weird stuff he's seen in the Capitol.]

Isn't it great? It's a cake! You wanna slice, Dorian?
[He's just going to turn a big, happy puppy-dog smile on you. S U F F E R. ]
no subject
It's certainly something, though I question its edibility. Which is, of course, no slight to you, Captain.
[ Isn't it though??? After a few moments of that damnable smile, Dorian groans and concedes with a nod. ]
Yes, all right. [ If he dies, someone bury him under a statue of a beautiful man. ]
