[ Katara's a little startled when she sees Ben; her focus had been on her new orange friend. How she gets roped into these things, she has no idea.

And then her eyes widen when she really sees Ben.

[Got that right, it's not how it works. She frowns as she continues to heal up her orange friend, which is the only thing preventing her from crossing her arms at him right now.]

Weren't your eyes bothering you before you got two matching shiners?

[Oh good, he was getting hit in his replacement eye. You know, the one which no one had technological ability to fix, that she knew of anyway, or even replace.]

Oh good. So you've got a replacement eye somewhere in case that one gets damaged?

You sound like - hell, I can't even pick. [suffice to say, he's heard this before] It's fine, it isn't fragile or anything. Want me to take it out and prove it?

[Clearly exasperated with EVERYONE at this bar, she turns to her orange friend who I will now name Tom for convenience sake, although it is not very alieny.] I want you to stand there and stop talking to me so I can finish up with Tom and then see if you knocked anything else loose.

[Tom gives Ben a long-suffering look. He has not known Katara long, but she made her displeasure at being invited to come along to this fight club Known and so... here we are.]

[he opens his mouth to continue the argument, but she tells him to shut up, so he does. Instead he just sighs, and turns, as if he's looking around -

And reaches up to push something behind his ear, and turns his hand to catch his fake eye as it pops out.

When he turns back it's as Katara's finishing up, and he has one eye shut and his hands folded behind his back, as though he's patiently waiting]

[Katara finishes healing Tom's ribs. "Thank you, Katara. I'll wait for you over there, alright?"

She nods at him, her focus shifting to Ben, and Tom fades into the orange background.] ...why is your eye closed?

[She has a Bad Feeling about this.]

He keeps his eye closed and holds out his hand, opening it up to show her the eye. Not attached, it just looks like a ball of - not quite glass, dim inside with a little dongle on one of the ends that looks like it attaches to something]

[Katara is approaching him with each comma, tbh.] That has nothing to do with it getting damaged in the ring unless you throw it on the ground and step on it -- and don't you dare!

[She comes right up to him and putting her hands on her hips.] Why would you even take that out here? That's so unsanitary!

[his nose wrinkles up like he was considering throwing it on the ground and stepping on it but now he's not going to because she'll get even more mad.

For his part he just stands there as she approaches, not at all phased by her anger. He brought it on himself, that much he knows, he'll accept the wrath]

And my point is that you shouldn't be so reckless! Maybe you can take it out and put it back in safely, but that doesn't mean that is always going to be something in your control! Unless you've got someone who can repair that technology that I don't know about, you're taking a stupid risk!

[he rolls his eye . . . then pops the other one back in (after turning away, he's not going to gross her out further) so he can roll both of them together, properly] I think you're overreacting to me getting punched in the face a few times, but okay, I'll try to be more careful.
