[The parties may have ended in most of the system, but at least in one corner, as the silver confetti and plastic cups are being swept up, it continues. This time it's not in celebration of the games but something - or someone - a little more personal to some of the members of the fleet. After all, Felix had promised, in a way.

A brief text message will be sent out the fleet]

There will be a celebration this evening in memory of our friend Lumiere, who has since departed the fleet. Regardless of whether you knew him, come enjoy yourself as I'm sure he would have wanted.

[The coordinates that follow lead to a small lounge-like venue near the beach in the Brightbirds territory. The main room is bright and cozy, hosting the featured entertainment for the night, orange-skinned men and women dancers in flowing, feathered, revealing garments who make sinuous circles around the room. Musicians with guitar-like instruments and drums play throughout the night, to accompany the dancers.

On the patio there is a buffet full of small finger foods like skewers of meat and candied fruits and various other decadently simple dishes. The bar is also nearby - though the drinks aren't free, they are available at a discount for the evening.

If you want a little more quiet, the patio leads directly out onto the beach, which is also set with small cushions and tables for you to enjoy your food and drink while you listen to the waves and the distant city lights reflected in the water]

Weeeeeeeell, I do have pretty great thief-aligned powers. It always seemed like I was letting them go to waste. [She's amused but also there's something she's not quite acknowledging that feels awkward because they're talking about his heart and that's kind of what this is about? It's about moving on and being open to new possibilities and honestly if she just wanted sex there were probably easier ways to get it, but she's still smiling. Still working through it.]

If you're turning your life around to do crime... isn't that usually the opposite of what turning a life around means?

No, I think it just has to be a drastic change. Turning to the dark side is a valid life choice.

The dark side? Living life in the shadows. Living off the credits you stole and running for "the man"? Yeah, I can see that being the dark side!

[She was using it pretty generically so that works. It was something Winn said sometimes and she'd heard it from others too. She knew people who talked of the force, but she didn't think about it directly related to that.]

Someone's gotta stand up to the man. Or something. How are your skewers?

Um...so last night, was all the hesitation because I'd been drinking?

Mostly. People tend to make choices they regret when they've been drinking. I guess I wanted to make sure this wasn't going to be a regret the next day.

At least give it a week or two before you start regretting things. [He adds as a joke at the end. He doesn't really want her to regret any of this in the end.]

Oh, I usually put entire months or years into relationships before they're really regrettable. You've got to commit to get that kind of output. [It's funny because it's true? Or is it just heartbreaking and not a good subject to joke about because it's true?]

Oh, well, that's okay then! [Pretending like regretting a long term relationship isn't a horrible thing to go through.] I guess I didn't need to worry then!

Still thought it would be better to make sure you were in your right state of mind before you got yourself tangled into the mess that is my luck and life.

Hmm. Now that I think about it? I suppose I've never really given anyone the chance to change their mind before. [Have to allow someone to get close enough to care to have them change their minds later. He should probably look a bit more upset by that admission, but he mostly just looks a little embarrassed to admit it.]

[She's not exactly sure what that means. Lots of him leaving after one-night stands? That doesn't really sound like him, but nothing is quite the same being in another world where the rules are different.] Then why me?

Because I care about you. I don't want to hurt you, Kitty. I have a lot more respect for you than to use alcohol as a chance to get closer.

If we were going to try... well... [His hands gesture a bit wildly from himself to her to around the table.] Something like this? I want to be sure it's something you wanted. Not something a drink was telling you that you wanted.
