[ loki is no stranger to space ships. though the kind of ships asgard uses are quite different in nature, he's read enough to be familiar with the make and feel of this one. he quietly turns on the recording device, squinting at it. very primitive but it'll have to do. he straightens himself, as befitting a prince, quiet and somber despite the nervousness. ]

[ a pause as loki thinks of what else to add before pulling out a large knife he stole from the kitchens. ]

But whatever; he wants his knife back. Taako spins a fork in his fingers and takes a bite of his slice of cake. Moist, delicious and a perfect balance of all the ingredients. Rolled a nat 20 on baking today. He motions for the knife now and plucks a berry off the top of his cake, popping it in his mouth. ]

[ loki slides the knife over before waiting for his piece of the cake. ]

[He reaches over and takes the knife by the handle at the same time as he slides the second plate over. With the knife secured, he checks again that it isn't an illusion, then goes to wash it.]

So why so paranoid, little godling? Couldn't you just magic your way out?

[ his shoulders hunch a little. ]

[That's. Odd. He's a god of tricks and magic. That's kind of his deal.]

Well I've learned in my long life that just because everyone says it, doesn't mean it's true. If you've got magic, you should learn to use it properly so it doesn't go haywire or something.

[Probably not the best advice to give to a fledgling god, but whatever. Taako slips the clean knife back into the knife block and sets a glass of water on the counter.

Then he transmutes it into milk before Loki's eyes.]

As long as you don't use your magic to trick or harm me, I don't care if you use the shit out of it.

[He uses an unnecessary Mage Hand to push the milk toward the boy as he folds his arms and leans back.]

[ loki frowns. ]

Why would I trick you?

[Why wouldn't he? Taako raises an eyebrow, but decided to brush it off with a wave one hand and lie. This Loki is a lot less smirky than the one he met earlier.]

Standard issue deal between wizards.

[ he has a little magic, sure, but loki is a son of odin. he'll be strong like his father. ]

[Taako rolls his eyes and sighs.]

Between a wizard and a godling then. I had no idea you were such a stickler for things things.

[ loki stiffens, straightening. ]

Your posture? [Taako motions with one finger up and down at Loki's stiffened demeanor] kiiiiinda suggests otherwise, little dude.

Look, magic aside? Eat the cake. Maybe it'll help you loosen up.

[ loki pouts before grabbing a spoon to dig into the cake. his manners still remain impeccable as he bites it off little by little. ]

[He's eating and that's all Taako could really hope for. The knife is real and back in his possession, but now that means he has to actually think about what's going on here. He hasn't been here long enough to see a glitch in action, but he's heard mention of them on the network.

.... More than that though, Loki is just so small.]

[ he blinks, staring at taako. ]

I'm over fifty. That's not so young.

[Not yet an adult there, buddy. Give it another...? Actually, he has no idea how long it takes gods to mature. He always thought gods just appeared fully grown in whatever form they wanted. He really should have paid more attention when he was scamming those acolytes into letting him join their temple.]

Well, to put it in perspective, elves don't reach adulthood until we're closer to one hundred, so you're still considered young for us. [Even if elven society sucks balls and can go get a swirly in a toilet.]

[That's...a new name for elves. Okay, sure. Must be what the gods call them.]
