[ mistletoe. loki had a fondness for mistletoe. with the plant, he had crafted an excellent story about how he had murdered a fictional brother with a plant. and a generation of gullible mortals bought it. so loki makes a few mistle-toe arrows and walks around whistling, putting everyone on deliberate edge. and when he's approached, loki simply raises an eyebrow, innocent. ]
What?
[ he may have missed the one above his head though. ]
[ ii. romantic ]
[ loki has picked up a book in a corner at the iskaulit library. so caught up in it, he wanders the hallways, not even glancing up until —
he fatefully bangs into someone, the dreaded mistletoe on top. shame loki isn't looking. ]
Excuse me.
i
So seeing Loki skulk about with mistletoe arrows, looking like he's enjoying how some people eye him with more than a little suspicion only puts a smile on Taako's face. He's never been so glad to have been put on the First Breath as when he sees his captain fucking with people for the hell of it. The smile spreads until Taako notices the thing hanging over the god's head and that by chance, Taako's been caught up in its orbit.
Weeeeell, dunk.]
Might want to do a Perception check, my man.
[And Taako points up because it should be obvious once Loki sees it.]
no subject
Well, that's annoying. Mistletoe is supposed to like me best.
no subject
[Even if it apparently hates Taako since it's sucked him into the radius of whatever spell has cursed these things.]
Maybe if you weren't so beloved by the weirdo plant you might've avoided this.
no subject
[ loki flicks his fingers at it, hoping to send it away in his usual dimensional pocket but no dice. he sighs. ]
It is no fun if I can't use them wholly to my advantage.
no subject
[But he also knows better than to try and get away at this point, so? He just lounges back into thin air - which is when he hits that stupid force field wall that's always around these things once they activate. It was hilarious watching people smash their faces into it for awhile, but now he's in here and that's not as amusing.]
They've got some powerful mojo protecting them. I tried setting one on fire and it did absolutely ziiiilch.
[And to demonstrate? Taako flips his Umbra Staff around and launches a fireball at the sprig of greenery, a ball of flame shooting from the tip of the umbrella. It hits the mistletoe and just...vanishes as if it were an illusion.]
See?

He's seen mistletoe on doorways, but this is the first time he's seen them on a bow. Lance just blinks at Loki when he sees him, baffled.]
...did you seriously weaponize mistletoe?
no subject
[ loki smiles, beatific, as he holds the bow up. ]
It's what I'm known for.
no subject
I've read myths and stuff about you, but I definitely don't remember mistletoe arrows.
no subject
I suppose it's not one of my more boasted stories. I used mistletoe to kill someone. Hypothetically, of course.
no subject
[Please say you didn't. It's bad enough that mistletoe is parasitic, Lance doesn't want to think of it killing people!]

ii?
GUH!
[ He winced as he smacked into something... solid. And not a person kind of solid, more like wall kind of solid. He looked up and frowned, trying to move forward and then glancing up... ]
Oh come on!
no subject
[ loki barely looks up from his book. ]
What happened?
no subject
[ Kirk sighed and started looking up towards the ceiling. ]
Mistletoe. That's what's happened.
no subject
Haven't they collected enough . . . kisses already?
no subject
Clearly not. That, or they forgot to clean up.
[ His tone suggested how unlikely he thought that was, glowering up at the offending piece of foliage. The first few times were somewhat amusing, then they were annoying, and now... okay now they were annoying, but there was frustration laced in. His lips were going to get bruised at this rate. ]
Maybe they're really just that bored.

Of course, he's just as much to blame when he turns a hallway without looking first... and without looking up. There was no door there, so he didn't even think about double-checking. Not that he minds either way, no harm in some innocent kissing to break out of a force field. He's been through this before, after all. ]
I... [ When he looks up at Loki, he gets a glimpse of the little plant hanging above them, and sighs quietly. ] ... should be the one apologizing.
no subject
What for?
no subject
For that.
no subject
Ah. I suppose I cannot avoid all agents of chaos.
no subject
Funny to hear you of all people say that. [ Loki himself is often the agent of chaos. ]

i. sup, Loki.
So are these yours or theirs?
no subject
Does it matter?
no subject
...So. What does yours do?
no subject
Nothing. It's merely there to induce people it's the same as the Atroma's.
