Do you normally just pronounce people your children? and what does Manji mean? That all your children are swords?

Not at all. I have only come to see two here as my children so far. But Manji is referring to the fact that I am the father of all swords.

[He will definitely be ignoring the outburst from Manji. Because that is definitely his child. Instead he moves over so he can lift his own cup of tea up to sip from it.]

The katana as you know it today was based on my design.

Guy is a living sword. Or at least the soul of one. Just accept it and move on. Easier that way. [There. Some wise advise from the asshole.]

[Tim will mimick Koga in starting to drink and sip at his tea. He's used to a different type of tea etiquette so is trying hard not to offend.]

[Tim has knowledge of certain swords but he's not a complete encyclopedia]

[He's not certain that Tim will know who that is but he does know that Manji will.]

[He moves to his sword and unsheathes it. Unlike a normal katana which is only sharp one side, it's clear that this extends to the other side as well.]

[Manji considers the name then gives a half nod. He doesn't mind being compared to Ulaz.] Ulaz isn't a bad fighter. [Says the man that had his ass kicked by Ulaz, but it was only because he was tired! And had one arm! And the sun was in his eyes! And he had a cold that day!]

Wait a minute. [Now Manji leans in to stare at that blade.] You told me your body was back home! How'd you get that? [He doesn't automatically assume Koga had been lying, but he also wouldn't blame the guy if he had.]

[Tim will look at the sword as it is presented and nod along. It's a lot to take in but at the moment he's hit that point with this whole adventure where he's just going to smile and nod at all the weirdness.

Besides he doesn't want to interrupt Manji at this point.

I visited the tree in the ice caves. After having a lovely conversation with it, I was able to receive this sword.

[By conversation he basically means he talked to it on his own. The tree didn't talk back to him in the slightest.]

This father was very grateful as well. It is a very disturbing sensation to have your body not existing in the same universe as your soul.

It can bring stuff back from home? [He hadn't even considered something like that. Deciding early on the tree was too hard and far to try to reach. He didn't care about possessions, but there was one thing he did want from home.

True, an arm was a lot different than a sword, but maybe that doesn't matter to a magic tree.] Could you choose what it gave you? What do you mean you talked to it? Did you have to pass some sort of test? [HE NEEDS DETAILS!]

From what I can tell you have to give something up in order to get something back? It doesn't have to be physical though, you can tell it stories of things you've done for the people here or give up a secret.

I've been a few times but I have yet to actually give anything to it. [He's too attached to his secrets even to give it up to a tree.]

What would you ask for Manji?

He is correct. I believe the idea is to give something precious or do something good to receive a reward for it. It's quite a pleasant concept.

[He sheathes his sword then sets it down to have a sip of his tea again.]

I believe Manji would ask for his arm. It would allow him to fight as he is used to.

[Are you sure he's not your dad, Manji? He's really been paying attention to you.]

Of course I'm going to ask for my fuckin' arm back! The psycho back home who's got it certainly doesn't deserve it!

[SHUT UP DAD! I TOLD YOU NO ONE EXCEPT MY MUSIC UNDERSTANDS ME!] Give up a secret or an item? Tsk! I ain't got nothing like that! [He honestly can't think of anything. He was an open book as far as he was concerned and didn't really own anything of value. Closest thing he had to an item he wouldn't wish to part with was Katie's lightsaber and that was not his to throw away.] Why can't it just give it to me for finding the damn thing?!

Because everyone knows where it is? [He shrugs] You could do a nice thing or task for the people of this planet then tell it about it? I'm not sure how much is required for a whole arm...

I'm presuming you're hoping to reattach it? [I mean that's what he's getting from this conversation. He did say he was immortal. Apparently, things don't grow back. Tim had just presumed he'd lost it before gaining immortality.]

I could come with you and if you do something nice to me then it should work. Though it does not appear to offer what you ask for. Rather it gives you something from your world. Perhaps at random.

[He cannot be sure honestly. It does seem to make sense though. Another sip of tea and...]

It could be easier to reach it if you go with someone.

I'd be happy to make a group trip. I'm curious to actually see it in action.

A fair question. Though I believe that is for you to decide rather than me to tell you what to do in order to get what you desire.

[Manji gets a glare that could freeze their tea.]

[He tilts his head to look at Robin's face, how it is covered as it is.]

I think that Robin's mask is quite nice.

[And he smiles at the boy.]

You know Japanese honorifics.

I'd say he's being some sort of shinobi- [Or a Ninja Batman?] -except he's not smart enough to stop the bad guys from getting back up again. So I think that mask is stupid and pointless. [YEAH HE SAID IT]

[You can't see the eyeroll behind the white lenses by it's there in the rest of his body language]

Thank you Kogarasumaru-san. I've travelled a lot for business so I've picked up a few things. Unfortunately Japanese isn't one of my known languages so that part is limited.

and Manji, Shinobi isn't exactly the word I'd use although I can see the comparison.

And don't think bringing the mask up again is going to distract from the original conversation of you doing something nice for your father. [That is definitely a smart arse grin]
