[The portrait on the left of the room is painted in broad strokes, yet perfectly realised. It appears almost like a mural from some temple wall, presenting figures from legend. Yet it’s not quite that lofty and high-minded. It’s clear that the seven figures in the painting are comrades, bound together in friendship and duty. Thor is present in the centre, outfitted in silver and red armour, long haired and confident. Arrayed around him are six others: Loki, on the left. Heimdall, on the right. And to either side of them are Sif and the Warriors Three. There’s no mistaking their status from the armour and weapons they all carry. This is group who fought many battles together.

Only… despite the artistry of the portrait, it’s lacking in colour. Thor’s image is fine, bright and vivid. It’s everyone around him who’s painted in nothing but monochrome, greys and sepias. It makes Thor’s position in the portrait even more stark, separate from the rest even while he’s in the midst of them.

Lying on a stone shelf underneath the portrait is a long sword, a statuette of a pegasus and a hair clasp.]

[Keith wasn't sure why some of them were in grey. It felt... lonely. Cautiously, he picked up the pegasus.]

[The pegasus is made of some kind of stone, worn and old to the touch. Yet somehow it feels like a new addition to this place. Something that doesn't quite relate to the figures in the portrait but given time would find its way there more naturally. There are grooves cut into the flanks of the pegasus, as though something else was originally slotted in on top. A rider, perhaps.

When Keith picks the statuette up mist seeps in around the room, blotting out the chamber entirely before rolling back. Now he stands in the middle of a different room, garish red and white, with a huge green man bouncing a ball off the wall in the far corner. That's not what this memory is focused on however. Instead Keith's attention will draw to the dark-haired woman Thor speaks to - a Valkyrie, if what she goes on to say is true. There's tension there, a clash of ideals. Thor is resolute in his own though, even if he seems to fail in convincing the woman of his plan.

"Because that's what heroes do," he says, just before smashing through the window and leaping down from the building's height. Before Keith has time to worry about how many floors up this is, the scene dissolves, the original chamber reforming around him. The pegasus still sits in his hand.]

[Okay, so the mist was kind of creepy, and he watched it creep in with some trepidation, but relaxed just a bit when it cleared into another memory or vision. Valkyrie... Keith knew the word, and, considering what he knew of Loki and Thor, it kind of made sense, he supposed.

Of course, watching Thor crash through and out a window was a bit startling, and Keith almost ran to it to see if he had landed okay, but the moment was gone, leaving him back in the throne room with the statue in his hand. He looked down at it, rubbing his thumb over the small slots on the side. Was she the missing rider? He carefully placed it back on the shelf, looking up at the portrait.]
