It is. It is not a life I like seeing others in. We thought that stability could be achieved by some control after how the alliance ended, but he is a tyrant. A tyrant doesn't want stability.

The Kett behave the same way?

Sounds really similar. Maybe races who want to take over everything just share some traits.

It is likely. They have a similar belief that their way is better than any other way and that they have to make it so?

Oh yeah, totally. You know, they kidnap people and force them to change into one of them. They call it an honor. They take away everything you are, remove your connection to your identity, and they call it 'exaltation.'

That's some kind of sick joke, right?

I agree. That does sound like a joke. They are clearly claiming themselves as superior and making other races suffer.

And that's what your empire does too? Sounds like a 'might makes right' kind of culture from your memories?

Our empire does not do that. They do however believe their superiority in all matters. Those who have something they need and comply are usually treated well. Those who have something they need and don’t will usually become slaves. If the world has nothing they want, anything can happen.

"Anything can happen" sounds pretty ominous... What usually happens in those cases?

Enslaving the population for labor, draining it for its quintessence, or simply blowing it up as an example.
