[Tyrion murmured, a faint smile touching his lips. He exhaled, slowly.]

I hope to only prove worthy of her, in time. I suppose that makes me a hatchling in my own right, back home. I am just discovering who I am without my family to define me.

[Keith considered that. He never knew what it was like to live in someone's shadow like that.]

I've been without my family for so long, I don't think I really know what it's like to have that kind of identity.

Then it seems we are on the opposite ends of that spectrum ... I have to outlive my family's legacy, and you are in the unenviable position of being able to make your family legacy rest on your shoulders.

Yeah... I guess so.

[He shrugged.]

I think I've been doing that kind of unintentionally for a while now.

[Paladin of Voltron... but, now... was there a way out?]

How so?

[He honestly did not know much about Keith's past as a Paladin, outside that he was a warrior of some renown.]

What I do... as a Paladin of Voltron, isn't exactly in the shadows. So, everyone knows me for that. If I get out of this alive and manage to have a family, well... I guess I'm leaving them a lot to live up to. Even though it's not something I want to force on someone.

[When he had gotten angry at his father for getting hurt, and then changed his mind as a child, deciding he didn't want to be a fireman anymore, it hadn't been easy for his father or any of the other guys in his department. Part of him felt like he'd let them down in a way.]

Well, if I know anything about you, Keith ... you will not make them feel the loss of anything if they are not a Paladin of anything.

[Keith would be an excellent father, at some point. If he wanted to be.]

I wouldn't want them to feel they have to live up to that. They should feel free to do their own thing.
